Abstract

The solution concerns hydrophilic copolymer suitable mainly for contact lenses and medicinal use and its production method. The principle of the solution consists in hydrophilic copolymer, which can be prepared by copolymerization of 5 to 50 percent by weight of 1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone and of 50 to 95 percent by weight of alkyleneglycol monoacetate mono/methacrylate or acrylate/ of general formula I, where R is CH2=CH- or CH2C/CH3- group and n means number from 1 to 3, in presence of 0.01 to 50 percent by weight of cross-linking agent in conditions of radical copolymerization in presence of radical initiators.<IMAGE>
