Abstract
The red scum falling off during production of aluminium oxide is, in order to decrease its water content, mixed with hydraulic binding agent, and the resulting mixture is solidified. To the de-watered red scum, containing from 35 to 60 percent by weight of solid particles, lime is added in the form of anhydrous an/or hydrated lime and/or slaked lime and/or lime milk in the amount of at least 5 percent, related to the contents of solid particles in red scum. Subsequently the mixture is mixed, which results in formation of liquid homogeneous material, which is solidified in the form of heap.
