Description
CS 273 434 B1 .<·CS 273 434 B1.
The present invention relates to a method for determining the content of free calcium oxide in which a microscope made from a clinker sample is examined microscopically.
In the production of Portland cement, information on the free calcium oxide content in the clinker is the most important prerequisite for proper firing control and production quality. So far, this determination has been carried out chemically by the extraction method or microscopically in the ground sections of the individual clinker granules. In the first case, the determination is time-consuming and does not simultaneously provide information on the content of the other phases in the clinker, which is necessary for correct intervention in the firing level and determination of the clinker quality. In the latter case, although the information is available in a short time, the differences in the degree of firing of the individual clinker granules, which occur in some methods of its production, however, greatly reduce the value of this information.
To overcome these drawbacks, the invention is based on crushing a clinker sample and grinding a grain grind from the clinker pulp, which is stained with acetic acid vapors and microscopically determining the number of free calcium oxide grains per unit area thereof. For this purpose, the grain-ground grain is preferably prepared by forming a horizontal uniform layer of maximum thickness of 3 mm from the clinker pulp, which is heated to a temperature of 90 to 110 ° C, soaked with epoxy resin and held at that temperature until the resin solidifies. then a second layer of the same resin of greater thickness is formed on the first layer and heated to the same temperature, after which the first layer is partially sanded and polished after the second layer has solidified.
Způsob podle vynálezu zaručuje vysokou reprezentativnost stanovení volného oxidu vápenatého při současném posouzení reálného obsahu ostatních fází v produkovaném slínku, tím umožňuje optimalizovat zásahy do výpalu v rotační peci i do surovinové skladby, a tak udržovat požadovanou kvalitu produkce při nízké spotřebě energie. Vysoké pohotovosti stanovení je dosahováno dvoufázovou přípravou nábrusu, kdy malý objem pryskyřice ve vrstvě slínku zabrání spontánní silně exotermní polymerizaci a zpěnění vrstvy. Ve druhé vrstvě je tento jev naopak vítaný, protože urychlí vyplnění použité formy a vytvrzení první vrstvy, kterou lze hned opracovat. Úhrnná doba, potřebná ke zhotovení nábrusu, je kratší než 10 min, od dodání slínku do laboratoře včetně stanovení volného oxidu vápenatého nepřekročí 15 min. Obarvení nábrusu parami kyseliny octové zaručí jednoznačnou identifikaci volného oxidu vápenatého i všech ostatních slínkových fází. The method according to the invention guarantees high representativity of the determination of free calcium oxide while assessing the real content of the other phases in the produced clinker, thereby enabling to optimize the firing interventions in the rotary kiln and the raw material composition, thus maintaining the desired production quality with low energy consumption. The high readiness of the assay is achieved by a two-phase ground preparation, where a small volume of resin in the clinker layer prevents spontaneously strongly exothermic polymerization and foaming of the layer. On the other hand, this phenomenon is welcome in the second layer, because it speeds up the filling of the mold used and the curing of the first layer, which can be processed immediately. The aggregate time required to make the ground is less than 10 minutes, from the delivery of the clinker to the laboratory, including the determination of free calcium oxide, does not exceed 15 minutes. The coloring of the slice with acetic acid vapors ensures unambiguous identification of free calcium oxide and all other clinker phases. The determination of the specific number of grains is performed by counting in individual, non-overlapping fields of view of the microscope. The free calcium oxide content of the clinker is a linear function of the mean specific number of grains, the characteristic slope of this dependence being determined for each production site by parallel counting and determination of free calcium oxide in the residual clinker by chemical means.
Popsaný způsob stanovení volného oxidu vápenatého je dále podrobněji objasněn na příkladu:The described method of determining free calcium oxide is explained in more detail below by way of example:
Slínková drt byla nasycena několika kapkami epoxidové pryskyřice CHS 110, Po jejím zatuhnutí za 2 až 3 min byla vždy na tuto první vrstvu nalita další vrstva téže epoxidové pryskyřice o většíAt a dry cement plant, 20 clinker samples weighing 5 kg were taken directly from the rotary kiln discharge in a 20-day period. From each sample, 10 granules of 10-15 mm in size were selected to produce a grain ground. The remainder of each clinker sample was crushed, milled and homogenized, and the free calcium oxide content was determined therein by the usual chemical method of the plant. The granules selected for making the ground were crushed to pass through a 1 mm mesh screen. An amount of 0.5 mm mesh was always removed from the remainder to form a 2 mm thick layer at the bottom of a 15 mm diameter aluminum foil cylindrical mold placed on a metal plate tempered to 100 ° C. The clinker pulp was saturated with a few drops of CHS 110 epoxy resin. After its setting in 2-3 minutes, another layer of the same epoxy resin with a larger

The resultant casting was removed from the heated plate, the clinker crumb layer was sanded off with abrasive paper by about 0.5 mm under water, and the ground was polished with diamond paste in the usual manner. All these prepared cuts were stained by placing on a textile septum on the neck of the bottle and glacial acetic acid for 1 second. The counts of free calcium oxide (vol, CaO) grains were counted in ten microscope fields of 2.2 mm diameter in all sections. The average number of grains per field of view (n) was plotted against the contents of chemically determined calcium oxide and the slope of the straight line, fit by the least squares method, was 7.2 g. 1% vol CaO The characteristic constant of the plant was thus determined and operational use of the method of the invention could be started to control the factory production. Clinker was collected regularly every hour, as described above, to produce only one grain ground at a time, in which the average number of grains of free CaO was determined in ten microscope fields, and the free calcium oxide content of the clinker was calculated from vol. ) = n / 7.2.
