Abstract

The invention relates to devices for handling loose loads. The bucket elevator which is the subject of the invention is particularly characterised in that the piping 15 connecting the pipes 7 and 8 is disposed between the latter in such a way as to allow the passage of the loose load from the pipe 7 of the ascending section of the bucket 12 traction device 11 into the pipe 8 of the descending section, each of the said pipes 7, 8 comprising a widening 13, 14 in the zone of its connection to the piping 15, and the minimum distance between the lower edge of the opening 10 of the pipe 8 of the descending section of the traction device 11 and the upper edge of the loading opening 2 of the shoe 1 being determined by the equation: Hmin = Q/Sn, in which Q is the volumetric flow rate of the load; S is the effective cross-sectional area of the bucket 12; n is the number of buckets 12 intersecting the level of the load in the shoe 1 per unit time. The invention applies in particular to bucket elevators used for the vertical displacement of loose loads in grain silos, in flour milling, and in the combined fodder industry. <IMAGE>
