Vynález se týlfá nových derivátů 2,2- azo^midazolu-1, (, -bisbenzilidenemino4,4 -diaryl-2,2 -azoimidazolů, které mohou být použity jako dichroická barviva pro kapalné krystaly. Nové dichroická barviva mají úvS absorpční pásma ve viditelné oblasti spektra, přičemž dlouhovlnné pásmo je negativně a krátkovlnné pásmo je pozitivně dichroické.The invention relates to novel derivatives of 2,2- azo-imidazole-1, (, -bisbenzilidenemino4.4 diaryl-2,2-azoimidazoles which may be used as dichroic dyes for liquid crystals. New dichroic dyes have absorption absorption bands in the visible area spectrum, with the longwave band being negatively and the shortwave band is positive dichroic.
