Vegetativní inokulum bylo připravováno submersně v 500 ml varných baňkách se 100 ml inokulační půdy, která obsahovala základní živiny, tj. zdroj uhlíku (glukózu a laktózu), dusíku (kukuřičný extrakt a síran amonný) a sole.
