V súčasnosti na elektrochemických híbiacich strojoch s velkými výkonmi zdrojov sa obrábajú bloky kovacích zápustiek s velkými rozmermi a velkou hmotnosťou. Přitom vzniká problém vkladania týchto ťažkých obrobkov na upinaciu došku a taktiež je obtiažne ustavovanie polohy nástroja - elektrody voči obrobku. Elektrochemické híbiace stroje sú spravidla riešené s upnutím obrobku na vodorovná upinaciu plochu. Vkladanie obrobku na vodorovnú upinaciu došku sa prevádza buď zasunutím obrobku horizontálně spředu do pracovného priestoru a položením na vodorovná upinaciu došku. Niektoré typy elektrochemických híbiacich strojov sú vybavené s vodorovnou upínacou doskou, ktorá sa horizontálně vysunie z pracovnej skrine a po uložení obrobku na upinaciu došku sa stel 8 obrobkom zasunie do pracovnej skrine.
