Abstract

In the prodn. of potato minitubers from in vitro plants propagated by tissue culture and rooted in liq. media, (a) tuber formation is induced in vitro on rooted plants, (b) the induced plants are planted into solid media in glasshouses and tubers developed while growth of the plants haulm is limited by spraying regularly and periodically with antigibberellic chemicals, and (c) developed tubers are collected, and replanted in soil, with further limiting of the growth of haulm. Removal and planting back are repeated periodically during the plant vegetation period.
