Abstract
Se exponen un método y un sistema para proporcionar un protocolo de redes y encaminamiento para servicios de utilidad. En una modalidad, un método implementado en computadora comprende descubrir una red de utilidad, en donde un dispositivo de utilidad (por ejemplo, un medidor de energía constante) envía mensajes para descubrimiento de redes para encontrar la red de utilidad. Se descubren medidores cercanos y el dispositivo está atento a las vías publicadas de una o más redes provenientes de los cercanos. El dispositivo luego se registra con una o más redes de utilidad, recibiendo una dirección única para cada registro de red. En esta exposición de le invención también se ilustra la forma en que cada dispositivo de una clase de dispositivos (por ejemplo, un medidor de la energía de batería) encuentra y se asocia por sí mismo con otro dispositivo (por ejemplo, el medidor de energía constante). El medidor de energía constante también registra su medidor asociado de energía de la batería con las redes de utilidad. El medidor de energía constante se registra por sí mismo con los puntos de acceso y los nodos a contracorriente en la trayectoria fuera de cada red. Cada nodo a contracorriente puede tomar independientemente decisiones de envío en paquetes tanto ascendentes como descendentes, es decir, seleccionar el siguiente salto de acuerdo con la mejor información disponible para el mismo. El medidor de energía constante puede percibir problemas transitorios de enlace, problemas de interrupción y características de tráfico. El mismo utiliza la información para encontrar la mejor vía fuera y dentro de cada red. Cada dispositivo de red de esta forma mantiene opciones de encaminamiento de redes con múltiples salidas, múltiples entradas, ambas para sí mismas y los dispositivos asociados con la misma.
