Abstract

The cigarette of claim 4, wherein the encapsulated flavor is located on a seam of the paper wrapper and provides adhesion of the seam. 7. The cigarette of claim 1, wherein the encapsulated flavor is temperature sensitive, where temperatures greater than 100 ° C release flavor to the cigarette, where at temperatures below 100 ° C or less than 300 ° C, most encapsulated flavoring remains encapsulated. 8. The cigarette of claim 12, wherein a portion of the menthol flavoring is released from the polyvinyl acetate matrix when a portion of the cigarette is at a temperature between 300 ° C and 800 ° C. 9. The cigarette of claim 1, wherein the menthol flavoring is present in an amount of approximately 1-90%, 2-70% or 10-50% by weight based on 100 parts by weight of polyvinyl acetate . 10. A method for making a cigarette that includes a sorbent in a filter thereof, comprising: incorporating an encapsulated flavoring comprising a matrix of polyvinyl acetate with flavoring attached within the matrix in a cigarette component.
