Abstract
1.- Un método de tratar un volumen de agua para mantener una cantidad predeterminada de un producto químico para el tratamiento de agua en el volumen de agua durante un período de tiempo, que comprende determinar una cantidad de un producto químico para el tratamiento de agua a preservarse en un volumen de agua por tratar, calcular una dosis de mantenimiento del producto químico a agregarse al volumen de agua, para mantener aproximadamente la cantidad del producto químico en el agua durante el período de tiempo, proveer una fuente del producto químico y suministrar la dosis de mantenimiento del producto químico para el tratamiento de agua al volumen de agua, en donde la dosis de mantenimiento se calcula de acuerdo con la ecuación (1):MD = (PV)(DC) (1)donde:MD = Dosis de mantenimiento de producto químico para el tratamiento de agua PV = Volumen de agua por tratar DC = Cantidad consumida de producto químico para el tratamiento de agua durante el período de tiempo y en donde el suministro de la dosis de mantenimiento se realiza por una bomba con un desplazamiento del tubo y que se hace operar durante un tiempo de operación, determinado de acuerdo con la ecuación (2):RT = ((K) (MD)/(PRPM x PTD)) (2)donde:RT = Tiempo de operación de la bomba (seg.) PRPM = Velocidad de la bomba (RPM) PTD = Desplazamiento del tubo de la bomba (ml)/revolución de la bomba K = 1776 ((seg.-ml)/(min-oz.)), yMD se define como en la ecuación (1).
