Abstract

Un método para determinar la porosidad de una formacióngeológica, que comprende: generar impulsos de neutrones que liberen neutrones en una primera región y la formación geológica que rodea dicha primera región; detectar neutrones y adquisición de una pluralidad de tasas de conteo de detección de neutrones utilizando por lo menos dos fuentes de neutrones a espacios de detección de neutrones; adquirir una medición de tiempo de uno de dichos espacios para medir una primera profundidad de la investigación; adquirir una primera relación de dichas tasas de conteo de detección de neutrones para medir una segunda profundidad de la investigación; calcular una porosidad aparente utilizando por lo menos una de dichas mediciones de tiempo y dicha relación de tasa de conteo de neutrones; determinar el efecto de dicha primera región en dicho cálculo de porosidad aparente en respuesta a por lo menos una de dichas relaciones de tasa de conteo de detección de neutrones y dicha medición de tiempo; calcular la porosidad de la formación al realizar la corrección para dicha porosidad aparente para el efecto determinado de dicha primera región.
