Abstract
Un método para determinar las características de una formación geológica alrededor de un pozo de sondeo y que comprende los siguientes pasos:a) proporcionar una fuente para irradiar tal formación geológica con rayos gamma o rayos X;b) Proporcionar unos detectores de distancia corta, media y larga, situando a cada detector, respectivamente, a distancias fijas, sucesivamente mayores, de la fuente, de manera que cada detector exhiba una respuesta no negativa ante el aumento de la densidad de la formación, y siendo dichos detectores capaces de generar señales indicadores de la energía de la radiación gamma detectada por cada uno de ellos;c) dividir el espectro de rayos gamma detectados en una pluralidad de ventanas en cada detector, conteniendo dichas ventanas un conteo de rayos gamma y representando diferentes energías de los rayos gamma;d) corregir las velocidades de conteo de los rayos gamma detectados para el tiempo muerto;e) determinar una medida de densidad en cada detector; yf) calcular una densidad corregida a partir de la medida de densidad determinada en cada detector.
