Abstract

Modalidades de la presente invención incluyen un proceso novedoso continuo y semicontinuo el cual resulta en la mejora total o parcial de crudo pesado. La mejora del crudo pesado es un resultado de calentar térmicamente el petróleo en un intervalo donde ocurre viscorreducción, reduciendo de esta forma el crudo pesado. El núcleo del paso de calentamiento ocurre a través de un aparato de calentamiento del tipo lecho empacado que incluye materiales superparamagnéticos, paramagnéticos, y/o magnéticos.
