Abstract

In addition, the direction of the well is done by controlling the spatial phase dynamics and the amplitude of the coherent symmetric two-way piston deflections of the drill with respect to a fixed land reference point when the tool is rotating, pointing and pushing the drill bit simultaneously. The amplitude and strength of drill deflections can be controlled in a variable manner during directional operations to dynamically adjust the instantaneous accumulation rate as required. When the direction is not active, the drill can be mechanically locked in the neutral position.
