Abstract

El presente documento se refiere a un método de codificación en capas de un cuadro de una representación comprimida ambisónica de mayor orden (HOA) de un sonido o campo de sonido. La representación comprimida HOA comprende una pluralidad de señales de transporte. El método comprende asignar la pluralidad de señales de transporte a una pluralidad de capas jerárquicas, la pluralidad de capas que incluye una capa base y una o más capas de mejoramiento jerárquicas, generar, para cada capa, una carga útil de extensión HOA respectiva que incluye información adicional para mejorar paramétricamente una representación HOA reconstruida obtenible de las señales de transporte asignadas a la capa respectiva y cualquier capa inferior que la capa respectiva, asignar las cargas útiles de extensión HOA generadas a sus capas respectivas, y señalizar las cargas útiles de extensión HOA generadas en un flujo de bits de salida.
