Abstract

一种电连接器,包括遮蔽壳体、绝缘本体及若干导电端子,其中绝缘本体设有一收容空间,导电端子收容于上述收容空间内,遮蔽壳体包覆在绝缘本体外围,并设有两侧板,其中绝缘本体设有顶壁、底壁及连接顶壁与底壁的后壁,遮蔽壳体的两侧板用以充当该绝缘本体侧壁。这样设置,使得电连接器结构简单,占用较少的安装空间,适应电子装置轻、薄、短、小的发展趋势。

【技术领域】
本实用新型涉及一种电连接器,尤其指一种应用于计算机及网络设备中的电连接器。
【背景技术】
与本实用新型相关的现有技术,可参阅1998年8月11日公告的美国专利第5,791,942号、1985年2月26日公告的美国专利第4,501,464号及1984年6月3号公告的美国专利第4,457,570号,上述现有技术所揭示的电连接器均包括绝缘本体、若干导电端子及遮蔽外壳。所述绝缘本体设有一主体部,该主体部包括一对侧壁、顶壁及底壁。遮蔽外壳设有一对侧板、顶板及底板,该遮蔽外壳包覆在绝缘本体周围以防止电磁干扰。然而,绝缘本体的侧壁与遮蔽外壳的侧板厚度使得电连接器占用的空间较大,不适应电子装置轻、薄、短、小的发展趋势。
【实用新型内容】
本实用新型的目的在于提供一种结构简单、占用空间较小的电连接器。
本实用新型的目的是通过以下技术方案实现的:本实用新型连接器包括遮蔽壳体、绝缘本体及若干导电端子,其中绝缘本体设有一收容空间,导电端子收容于上述收容空间内,遮蔽壳体包覆在绝缘本体外围,并设有两侧板,其中绝缘本体设有顶壁、底壁及连接顶壁与底壁的后壁,遮蔽壳体的两侧板用以充当该绝缘本体侧壁。
与现有技术相比,本实用新型通过绝缘本体设置顶壁、底壁及后壁,而不设有侧壁,从而利用遮蔽壳体的侧板来充当其侧壁,令该电连接器结构简单,占用较少的安装空间,适应电子装置轻、薄、短、小的发展趋势。

【具体实施方式】
请参照图1及图4所示,本实用新型电连接器7包括遮蔽壳体1、绝缘本体2、端子插入模组3及两对发光装置4,在本实施方式中发光装置4为LED。
请参照图1至图3所示,绝缘本体2呈“U”形,包括顶壁21、底壁22及后壁23。顶壁21、底壁22及后壁23围设成一用于收容对接插头(未图示)的收容空间(未标号),其中底壁22设有若干狭槽221,并且绝缘本体2进一步包括一设置在后壁23上的凸块24及一贯穿后壁23与凸块24的开口241,所述凸块24上表面上设有两配合孔242。
端子插入模组3包括一主体部31及设置主体部31上的若干导电端子32。其中主体部31设有一对弹性臂(未标号),一对向下凸伸的定位柱311及一对设于弹性臂前端的卡扣313,并且每一导电端子32设有一安装在主体部31内水平固持部322、一由固持部322向前下方延伸的接触部321及一由固持部322水平向后延伸的焊接部323。
请参照图4至图6所示,遮蔽壳体1设有前板10、由前板10向后延伸的一对侧板11、顶板12及底板13。每一侧板11中间对应设有一凹面112,并且侧板11的上下端也对应设有一对内凹部113。顶板12与底板13两侧分别往相对方向延伸设有配合部121,131。另外,顶板12与底板13后端分别往相对方向垂直延伸设有一后板14,并且在后板14上设置一对平板部141,其中上平板部141设有两安装孔144,下平板部141设有一柔性接地端142。另外,顶板12与底板13后端往相对方向延伸各设有一对扣持端143。
请参照图4至图6所示,安装时,两对发光装置4分别收容于绝缘本体2的顶壁21与底壁22内。端子插入模组3的弹性臂收容于绝缘本体2的开口241内,其卡扣313与开口241的外壁相配合扣持。导电端子32的接触部321收容于绝缘本体2收容空间及狭槽221内,用以与对接插头端子(未图示)相配合。遮蔽壳体1通过顶板12与底板13上的配合部121,131与侧板11上的内凹部113配合,而包覆在绝缘本体2上,又凸端143与绝缘本体2的后壁23配合卡持。遮蔽壳体1后板14的平板部141分别与绝缘本体2凸块24的上、下表面相配合,其中安装孔144与凸块24上表面上的配合孔242对应设置。这样,遮蔽壳体1与绝缘本体2通过在安装孔144与配合孔242内设置一连接装置(如螺钉),而可靠的配合在一起。而且接地端142向后延伸至导电端子32焊接部323的下方。
使用时,电连接器7安装在印刷电路板(未图示)上,其中端子插入模组3的定位柱311与电路板上相应的通孔相配合,焊接部323与电路板表面的导电路径相电性连接。另外,遮蔽壳体的接地端142与电路板另一表面的接地路径电性连接。
与现有技术相比,本实用新型电连接器7的绝缘本体2不设侧壁,遮蔽壳体1的侧板11充当绝缘本体2的侧壁。这样设置,使得本实用新型电连接器7的绝缘本体2比普通的电连接器更小,进一步使得其在与其它电子装置配合安装时,占用更少的安装空间。
诚然,本实用新型可不设有端子插入模组,令导电端子整体成型于绝缘本体内,其中该导电端子包括固持于绝缘本体后壁的固持部、由固持部水平向后延伸的焊接部及由固持部往前下方弯折延伸的接触部。因此绝缘本体可无需再设凸块及开口,遮蔽壳体也无需再设置后板的平板部。另外,本实用新型电连接器可通过将原本设置在端子插入模组上的定位柱直接设置在绝缘本体后壁上或利用其他定位方式与电路板相固持。

Claims (9)

1.一种电连接器,包括遮蔽壳体、绝缘本体及若干导电端子,其中绝缘本体设有一收容空间,导电端子收容于上述收容空间内,遮蔽壳体包覆在绝缘本体外围,并设有两侧板,其特征在于:绝缘本体设有顶壁、底壁及连接顶壁与底壁的后壁,遮蔽壳体的两侧板用以充当该绝缘本体侧壁。
2.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:绝缘本体后壁设有一开口及凸块,所述开口贯穿该后壁及凸块。
3.如权利要求2所述的电连接器,其特征在于:该电连接器设有一端子插入模组,该端子插入模组设有一部分收容于所述开口的主体部,导电端子整体成型于该主体部内。
4.如权利要求3所述的电连接器,其特征在于:该主体部设有至少一向下凸伸的定位柱。
5.如权利要求4所述的电连接器,其特征在于:该主体部还设有向绝缘本体收容空间延伸的弹性臂,所述弹性臂末端均设有与绝缘本体后壁相卡持的卡扣。
6.如权利要求5所述的电连接器,其特征在于:导电端子包括固持于插入模组主体部上的固持部、由固持部水平向后延伸的焊接部及由固持部往前下方弯折延伸的接触部。
7.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:导电端子整体成型于绝缘本体内,包括固持于绝缘本体后壁的固持部、由固持部水平向后延伸的焊接部及由固持部往前下方弯折延伸的接触部。
8.如权利要求6或7所述的电连接器,其特征在于:绝缘本体底壁设有若干用于收容相应的导电端子末端的狭槽。
9.如权利要求6或7所述的电连接器,其特征在于:遮蔽壳体设有一后板及一向后延伸的接地端。
