Abstract

本实用新型公开一种电源连接器,包括单一绝缘体及固持于绝缘体中的两排端子,两排端子相互对立,其间形成一狭槽,以收容并固持中央处理器模块的电路板,上面一排端子是电力端子,可将电力传送至中央处理器,下面一排端子则是接地端子;另有一排固持于绝缘体上的端子,其位于电力端子上方,该排端子延伸越过电力端子,以接合电路板,其中部分端子是将电力传送至中央处理器模块的高速缓存的电力缓冲端子,而其余的端子则是传送输入/输出(I/O)信号的信号端子,电力缓冲端子相互之间排列得比信号端子更紧密。因此,不同间距和用途的端子被整合并固持于单一绝缘体中。

【技术领域】
本实用新型是有关一种电连接器,尤其是指一种可直接连接CPU(中央处理器)模块与电源的电源连接器。
【背景技术】
中央处理器可应用于计算机及类似计算机的电子装置,其不断发展,变成一种高效却需高电力的信号处理装置。这种需高电力的装置需要一种直接的电力供给,以维持正常的运作。如美国专利第6,290,514号所揭露,电源连接器可用来连接CPU模块与电源。该专利揭露了一种电源连接器,其包括若干个单独形成的绝缘体,具有不同尺寸、形状及用途的导电端子分别安装于绝缘体上,具有导电端子的绝缘体被固定在一起。因此,该种传统电源连接器由于其复杂的结构和制造程序,而具有较高的成本。
与本专利申请具有相同受让人的美国专利第6,305,946号是另外一个直接连接中央处理器模块与电源的例子,该专利揭露了一种电源连接器,其具有若干排导电端子固持在一个本体上,端子仅能以相同的间距排列。
【发明内容】
本实用新型的目的在于提供一种具有单一结构及较低成本的电源连接器,同时也在于提供一种具有单一本体的电源连接器,其上固持有若干排不同间距的导电端子。
为实现上述目的,本实用新型电源连接器包括单一绝缘体及固持于绝缘体上的三排导电端子,其中第二排与第三排端子相互对立,其间形成一狭槽,以收容中央处理器模块的电路板,第二排端子是将电力传送至电路板的电力端子,第三排端子则是接地端子;第一排端子位于第二排端子上方,其分为两组,一组是将电力传送至中央处理器模块的高速缓存的电力缓冲端子,另一组则是传送输入/输出信号至中央处理器模块的信号端子,电力缓冲端子排列得比信号端子更为紧密,其间距小于信号端子。
与现有技术相较,本实用新型通过在一个绝缘本体上设置若干排不同间距的导电端子,从而达到降低成本的目的。

【具体实施方式】
请参阅图1和图2所示,本实用新型电源连接器10包括由绝缘材料制成的细长主体12,导电端子固持于本体12上,并排列成第一、第二及第三排14,16,18。该三排端子14,16,18延伸超出本体12的前后表面20,22,以电性连接一个位于中央处理器模块上的电路板24、一电容板26及一柔性电路板28(如图5所示),其中电路板24位于本体12的前端,而电容板26及柔性电路板28则位于本体12的后端,并组成电源供给的一部分组件。
请参阅图4所示,第二与第三排16,18的端子结构基本相同,且按镜像排列。为简化描述,第二排16端子及第三排18端子分别简称为第二端子与第三端子,且参阅数字也指定为16,18。每个第二端子16与对应的第三端子18形成一对,以接合并固持电路板24。每个第二及第三端子16,18具有一个相互对立的凹入部30,32,其间形成一狭槽(未标注)。通过第二及第三端子16,18的挠曲,电路板24被插入狭槽中,端子16,18的反作用力则固持住电路板24。在电路板24的两面形成导电衬垫34,以电性连接第二及第三端子16,18的凹入部30,32。至此,电路板24与第二及第三端子16,18之间形成机械及电性连接。
在本实施例中,第二端子16将电力传送至电路板24,以供中央处理器(未图示)的运作,而第三端子18则接地。
请参阅图3所示,第一排端子14被分为由电力缓冲端子36组成的第一组与由信号端子38组成的第二组。电力缓冲端子36将电力传送至中央处理器模块的高速缓存(未图示),信号端子38则传送输入/输出信号至电路板24上的中央处理器模块。由于高速缓存具有较大的耗电量,电力缓冲端子36相互之间排列的尽可能的紧密,以增大单位空间内端子36的数量,从而减小感应阻抗。因此,相对于输入/输出信号端子38,电力缓冲端子36具有一个较小的间距。
请参阅图1、图2及图5所示,第一排端子14位于第二排端子16的上方。第一排端子14均延伸越过第二端子16,并形成凹入部40,以接合电路板24的导电衬垫42,而在其间形成电性连接。
在本实用新型中,单一绝缘体12上固持有四种类型的端子36,38,16,18,其中端子36,38具有不同的间距,第二及第三端子16,18可以具有与第一排端子14不同的间距。因此,所述具有不同用途与端子间距的端子可被整合并固持在单一绝缘体上,从而节约了制造成本。

Claims (6)

1.一种电源连接器,包括单一绝缘体及固持于本体中的两排导电端子,其中两排端子互相对立,其间形成一狭槽,该狭槽可收容并固持中央处理器模块的电路板,并可通过端子与位于电路板上的导电衬垫形成机械及电性连接;其特征在于:在上述两排端子的上方还具有一排导电端子,该排端子可与上述电路板上的其它导电衬垫相接触,并可被分为至少两个具有不同间距的组。
2.如权利要求1所述的电源连接器,其特征在于:形成狭槽的两排端子可分别传送电力到中央处理器模块及将中央处理器模块接地。
3.如权利要求1所述的电源连接器,其特征在于:形成狭槽的两排端子具有互相对立的凹入部,以形成将电路板固持至连接器上的狭槽。
4.如权利要求1所述的电源连接器,其特征在于:另外一排端子被分为第一及第二组端子,第一组端子传送输入/输出信号,第二组端子则将电力传送至中央处理器模块中之高速缓存。
5.如权利要求1所述的电源连接器,其特征在于:形成狭槽的两排端子延伸并超出绝缘体,以连接电容板。
6.如权利要求4所述的电源连接器,其特征在于:另外一排端子的第一组延伸超出绝缘体,以连接柔性电路板,进而进行信号传输。
