The insulator is interposed between the center electrode and the side electrode. The side electrode has a cap. The cap has a side annular wall surrounding the extension portion with a gap formed therebetween, and an end annular wall connecting the side annular wall and surrounding the ignition end portion with a gap formed therebetween. The side annular wall forms at least one opening, and the end annular wall forms at least one channel extending radially and communicating with the at least one opening. By means of the cap structure, the electric spark generating efficiency can be improved, and the mixed gas can be ignited better.
Description
Technical Field
The present utility model relates to a spark plug (spark plug), and more particularly, to a spark plug having a ring-shaped side electrode.
Background
Spark plugs are important components for engine starting, and how to improve the ignition efficiency of the spark plugs is still a subject of continuous improvement.
Disclosure of Invention
An object of the present utility model is to provide a spark plug capable of improving ignition efficiency.
The spark plug of the present utility model includes a center electrode, an insulator, and side electrodes. The center electrode has a main body section and an exposed section connected to one end of the main body section. The exposed section has an extension extending from the main body section and an ignition end having an outer diameter smaller than an outer diameter of the extension. The insulator surrounds the body section. The side electrode has a metal shell surrounding a portion of the insulator adjacent the exposed section, and a cap connected to one end of the metal shell and spaced around the exposed section. The cap has a side annular wall connected to the metal shell and surrounding the extension portion with a gap formed therebetween, and an end annular wall connected to the side annular wall and surrounding the ignition end portion with a gap formed therebetween. The side annular wall forms at least one opening, and the end annular wall forms at least one channel extending radially and communicating with the at least one opening.
In some embodiments, the side annular wall forms a plurality of openings spaced apart in a circumferential direction, and the end annular wall forms a plurality of channels extending radially and respectively communicating with the openings.
The utility model has the following effects: by means of the cap structure, the electric spark generating efficiency can be improved, and the mixed gas can be ignited better.
Drawings
Other features and advantages of the utility model will be apparent from the following description of the embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an embodiment of a spark plug of the present utility model;
FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view taken along section line II-II in FIG. 1;
fig. 3 is a fragmentary perspective view illustrating the cap of this embodiment;
fig. 4 is a partial side view of this embodiment.
Detailed Description
Referring to fig. 1 to 4, an embodiment of the spark plug of the present utility model includes a center electrode 1, an insulator 2, and a side electrode 3.
The center electrode 1 has a main body section 11, an exposed section 12 connected to one end of the main body section 11, and a connection section 13 connected to the other end of the main body section 11. The exposed section 12 has an extension 121 extending from the main body section 11 and an ignition end 122 having an outer diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the extension 121.
The insulator 2 surrounds the body section 11. The insulator 2 is interposed between the center electrode 1 and the side electrode 3 so that the center electrode 1 and the side electrode 3 are not conductive with each other.
The side electrode 3 has a metal shell 31 surrounding a portion of the insulator 2 near the exposed section 12, and a cap 32 connected to one end of the metal shell 31 and spaced around the exposed section 12. The cap 32 has a side annular wall 321 that connects the metal shell 31 and surrounds the extension 121 with a gap formed therebetween, and an end annular wall 322 that connects the side annular wall 321 and surrounds the ignition end 122 with a gap formed therebetween with the ignition end 122. The side annular wall 321 forms at least one opening 323, and the end annular wall 322 forms at least one guide groove 324 extending in a radial direction and communicating with the at least one opening 323. In this embodiment, the side annular wall 321 forms a plurality of openings 323, specifically three, spaced apart by 120 degrees in the circumferential direction. The end wall 322 forms a plurality of guide grooves 324 extending in the radial direction and communicating with the openings 323, respectively, and specifically two guide grooves 324 are formed for each opening 323. The channel 324 is adjacent the firing end 122 and extends radially to rapidly channel gas from outside the cap 32 to the firing end 122.
In this embodiment, the cap 32 is spaced around the firing end 122 to increase the efficiency of spark generation between the cap 32 and the firing end 122. The air-fuel mixture of air and gasoline can smoothly flow between the cap 32 and the ignition end 122 through the opening 323 and the guide groove 324, so that the spark plug can better ignite the air-fuel mixture after the spark is generated.
In summary, the cap 32 structure can improve the efficiency of spark generation and can better ignite the mixture.
The foregoing is merely illustrative of the present utility model and is not intended to limit the scope of the utility model, which is defined by the appended claims and their equivalents.
