A washing machine as claimed in claim 1 or 3 wherein the base is connected with a fixing ring, the section of the drain pipe between the water inlet end and the water outlet end is an intermediate pipe, and the fixing ring is connected to the outer peripheral side of the intermediate pipe when the drain pipe is connected to the drain valve.
9. A washing machine as claimed in claim 1 or claim 3 wherein the drain pipe is of plastics material and has a degree of flexibility, the drain pipe being bendable.
