本公开详述了与饰板总成相关联的示例性照明系统和照明方法。照明系统和照明方法可以使光从饰板罩后面的位置向外发射经过饰板罩的周边。然后,光在饰板罩的周边周围反射。
参考图1,示例性车辆10包括在车辆10的前端18处设置在车辆10的乘客侧前照灯22P与驾驶员侧前照灯22D之间的饰板总成14。
在其他示例中,饰板总成14可以位于车辆10的其他区域中。例如,饰板总成14可以位于车辆10的后端处。
饰板总成14包括饰板罩26,所述饰板罩可以在美学上增强车辆10并且可以提供用于车辆10的标志和品牌的位置。饰板罩26也可能影响空气动力学。
在该示例中,因为车辆10是不需要气流到达发动机舱区域的纯电动车辆,所以饰板罩26不包括气流开口。在其他示例中,车辆10可以是具有发动机舱的常规车辆。在这样的示例中,饰板罩26可以是具有气流开口以允许气流到达发动机舱的格栅。

反射器30另外侧向向外延伸超过饰板罩26的驾驶员侧60,并且侧向向外延伸超过饰板罩26的乘客侧64。当反射器30向下且侧向向外延伸时,反射器30向前弯曲。前方是参考车辆10的取向而言的。特定地,反射器30从周边P内的位置向前弯曲到周边P外的位置。
光源52保持在灯壳44内并被透镜48覆盖。光源52、灯壳44和透镜48组合以提供具有大体“U”形轮廓的灯条总成。定位器支架56有助于定位光源52。
灯条总成40沿着饰板26的竖直下部延伸并且沿着饰板罩26的外侧部分向上延伸。然而,灯条总成40不突出超过饰板罩26的周边P。将灯条总成40隐藏在饰板罩26后面可以保护灯条总成40免受碎屑(诸如石屑)的影响。将灯条总成40隐藏在饰板罩26后面也可能在美学上更理想。
示例性光源52包括两个发光二极管条带。可以激活光源52以通过透镜48发射光L。来自光源52的光L最初向下移动、侧向向外移动或以这些方式的某种组合移动。最终,光L被反射离开反射器30并且围绕饰板罩26的周边P的区域向前发射。因此,光L从饰板罩26的第一后侧移动到饰板罩26的相对的第二侧。
在该示例中,光L在位置R处被反射离开反射器30,所述位置R在饰板罩26的周边P外。在另一个示例中,光L可以在饰板罩26的周边内的位置处被反射离开反射器30,但是仍然在车辆10前方向前发射。
反射器30可以是多种材料,包括聚合物基材料、金属和金属合金。在该示例中,反射器30是铜。在其他示例中,反射器30可以是其他材料,包括其他反射材料。反射器30可以结合长余辉磷光体、金属化和其他处理。

在一些示例中,仅点亮光源52的选定区域。例如,光源52的驾驶员侧可以以琥珀色点亮以提供补充的转向指示灯。如果在车辆的后部使用饰板总成14,则在饰板总成14内使用光源52还可以包括照亮某些区域以提供补充的转向指示灯。当在车辆10的后部使用时,光源52可以提供补充尾灯、刹车灯、倒车灯或这些的某种组合。
光源52可以发射光作为确认。例如,当用户锁定车辆10时,光源52可以以红色闪烁三次,然后逐渐消失为用户选择的颜色。
在一些示例中,用户可以使用车辆10的灯和光源52来编程灯光秀。
