The device of any of claims 1 and 2, wherein the device securing mechanism comprises a first cavity disposed within the housing and one or more magnets disposed within the first cavity, the magnetic attraction of the magnets serving to retain the device on the housing when the device is placed on the surface of the housing.
4. A mobile communication device docking apparatus as claimed in either of claims 1 and 2 wherein the coupling connection is a data cable connection.
5. A mobile communication device docking apparatus as claimed in either of claims 1 and 2 wherein the coupling connection is a wireless communication connection.
6. A docking apparatus for a mobile communications device according to claim 3 wherein the one or more magnets are 10 circular magnets.
7. The mobile communication device docking apparatus of claim 2, wherein the keypad extends from a first edge to a second edge of the housing.
8. The docking apparatus for a mobile communication device of claim 2, wherein said keypad is located at an edge remote from said display.
9. The docking device of claim 3, wherein the first cavity is located adjacent to an edge of the display.
10. The mobile communication device docking apparatus of claim 2, further comprising a first cable, wherein the keyboard is coupled to the mobile communication device via the first cable.
11. The mobile communication device docking apparatus of claim 10, further comprising a second cavity configured to receive the first cable, the second cavity being disposed on the housing.
12. The docking apparatus for a mobile communication device of claim 11, wherein the first cavity and the second cavity are adjacent to each other.
13. The mobile communication device docking apparatus of claim 1, wherein the display is configured to be rotatable relative to the housing.
14. A docking assembly for a mobile telecommunications device according to claim 1 wherein the housing includes a stand to allow the housing to be erected.
15. The docking apparatus of claim 1, further comprising a wireless charging device configured to wirelessly charge the mobile communication device.
16. The docking device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the mobile communication device is a portable computer, the display is a display of the portable computer, the portable computer supports the docking device when the mobile communication device fixing mechanism is fixedly connected to the portable computer, and the portable computer is connected to the housing through a data cable.
