Referring to fig. 1 and 2, the present invention discloses a connector assembly 100 including a socket 10 and a plug 20 mated with the socket 10.
Referring to fig. 2, 3 and 8, the socket 10 includes a housing 11 and conductive terminals 12 mounted in the housing 11. The housing 11 includes a base 111, a fixing base 112 formed by extending from the base 111 toward the plug 20, and an end cover 113 engaged with the fixing base 112. The end cover 113 and the fixed seat 112 are integrally injection molded, and a flip structure is formed, so that the end cover 113 can be turned downwards to realize the fixed connection with the fixed seat 112. In this embodiment, the first fastening portion 11221 is a protrusion, and the second fastening portion 1131 is a groove engaged with the protrusion. The insulating body 21 includes a base 211, a butting portion 212 formed to extend from the base 211 toward the socket 10, and an extending portion 213 formed to extend from the base 211 in a direction away from the socket 10. The mating portion 212 is provided with a mating cavity 2121 for receiving the plug terminal 22 and the tongue 1114. When the plug 20 is plugged into the socket 10, the engaging portion 212 is located between the inner sidewall of the engaging body 1112 and the tongue 1114.
The plug terminal 22 includes a mating end 221 for mating with the conductive terminal 12 and a contact end 222 for electrically connecting with the light strip 40. The abutting end 221 is shaped like a hollow needle and can be inserted into the first conductive part 121, so that the abutting end 221 and the first conductive part 121 are electrically connected. The contact end 222 includes a contact arm 2221 extending horizontally and an extension arm 2222 formed by bending and extending from two sides of the contact arm 2221. The extension 213 is at least partially covered by the contact arm 2221 and the extension arm 2222.
Simply speaking, the plug-in terminal 22 of the present invention is formed by bending a metal plate, and the bending size can be adjusted according to different cross sections of the lamp strip 40, so that the manufacture is convenient; the butt joint end 221 is a round pin structure, and is conveniently inserted into the receiving cavity 1115 to electrically contact with the first conductive part 121, the contact end 222 is a square structure, and the contact arm 2221 and the extension arm 2222 tightly wrap the extension part 213, so that the rigidity of the contact end 222 can be effectively enhanced, the plug terminal 22 is prevented from deforming, and the phenomena of incomplete contact, looseness and the like are avoided. Preferably, the extension arm 2222 is provided in two numbers, and is symmetrically provided at both sides of the contact arm 2221.
Further, the insulation body 21 further includes an insulation block 214 formed to extend from the base 211 in a direction away from the socket 10. In the thickness direction of the insulating body 21, a receiving groove 2140 opened downward is formed in the insulating block 214, and the insulating block 214 is covered on the top of the contact terminal 222 and allows at least a portion of the contact terminal 222 to be received in the receiving groove 2140.

In other words, the insulating block 214 is substantially rectangular and hollow and is opened on the lower surface thereof so as to insulate and shield the contact end 222, thereby preventing the operator from electric shock due to touching the contact end 222 of the plug terminal 22 by mistake.
The extension 213 is also at least partially received in the receiving groove 2140. Preferably, in the thickness direction of the insulating body 21, the bottom of the extension 213 is covered by the contact arm 2221 and the extension arm 2222, and the top of the extension 213 and the top of the extension arm 2222 are both covered by the insulating block 214. That is, in the width direction of the insulating body 21, the extension arm 2222 is at least partially located between the second main body portion 2142 and the extension portion 213.
