The invention is described in detail below by way of non-limiting examples with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
fig. 1 is a schematic cross-sectional view of an electrical device of the present invention. The figures are purely diagrammatic and not drawn necessarily to scale, showing only those parts which are necessary in order to clarify the invention, while other parts may be omitted or merely mentioned briefly. That is, the present invention may include other components in addition to those shown in the figure.
Detailed Description
In the following description, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a more thorough understanding of the present invention to those skilled in the art. It will be apparent, however, to one skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced without some of these specific details. Furthermore, it should be understood that the invention is not limited to specific described embodiments. Rather, any combination of the following features and elements, whether related to different embodiments or not, is contemplated to implement the present invention. Thus, the following features, embodiments and advantages are merely illustrative and should not be considered elements or limitations of the claims except where explicitly recited in a claim(s).
As shown in fig. 1, the electric device 100 of the present invention includes a first casing 1 and a second casing 2, the first casing 1 and the second casing 2 forming an internal space 3 therebetween, and a printed circuit board 4 accommodated in the internal space 3. The second housing 2 and the printed circuit board 4 are fixed to the first housing 1 via screws 5 which pass through the second housing 2 and the printed circuit board 4 in this order and are screwed into the first housing 1.
Thus, by fixing the first housing 1, the second housing 2 and the printed circuit board 4 together by the screws 5, the step of fixing the first housing 1 or the second housing 2 by using the crimping process can be omitted, which simplifies the assembly process of the electrical device, and saves the equipment cost for purchasing the crimping equipment and the corresponding fixture and the maintenance cost in the later period.
Since the printed circuit board 4 is usually provided with electronic components, a large distance is required between the second housing 2 and the printed circuit board 4 in order to accommodate these electronic components, which requires a large length of the shaft portion of the screw 5. However, this weakens the strength of the screw 5.
For this purpose, a recess 7 extending toward the printed circuit board 4 is provided on the second housing 2, the recess 7 is provided with a hole for the shaft of the screw 5 to pass through, and the head of the screw 5 is accommodated in the recess 7, whereby the distance between the second housing 2 and the printed circuit board 4 can be reduced and thus the length of the shaft of the screw 5 does not need to be increased.
The recess 7 may have any suitable shape. Preferably, the recess 7 has a shape gradually becoming larger in size from the bottom, against which the head of the screw 5 abuts, toward the open end, which allows easy placement and positioning of the screw 5, and easy integration of the second housing 2 having the recess 7 by a die-casting process. For example, the recess 7 has a bell mouth shape.
Since the screw 5 needs to pass through the second housing 2, there may be a gap between the screw 5 and the second housing 2, which may cause moisture, dust, etc. to enter the inner space. In order to form a seal between the screw 5 and the second housing 2, a first sealant 6 is provided around the screw 5 between the second housing 2 and the printed circuit board 4. The first sealant 6 is a sealant known in the art.
In order to facilitate the positioning, support and heat dissipation of the printed circuit board 4, a boss 8 extending toward the printed circuit board 4 is provided on the first housing 1, the boss 8 is used for supporting the printed circuit board 4, and the screw 5 can be screwed into a threaded hole of the boss 8.
Preferably, the depth of screwing of the screw 5 into the boss 8 is ensured by the torque value of the torque wrench, which allows to obtain a consistent screwing depth, on the one hand capable of ensuring a firm fastening between the first casing 1, the second casing 2 and the printed circuit board 4, and on the other hand capable of avoiding screwing of the screw 5 too deep to damage the printed circuit board 4 and the second casing 2.
In order to form a sealed space between the first housing 1 and the second housing 2, a second sealant 9 is preferably provided between the peripheral wall 11 of the first housing 1 and the peripheral wall 12 of the second housing 2. Preferably, the second sealant 9 is made of the same material as the first sealant 6.
In the embodiment of fig. 1, the first casing 1 is substantially plate-shaped, the second casing 2 is substantially U-shaped, the first casing 1 is disposed inside the second casing 2, the outer periphery of the first casing 1 faces the inner peripheral walls of the legs of the U-shape of the second casing 2, and the second sealant 9 is disposed between the outer periphery of the first casing 1 and the inner peripheral walls of the legs of the U-shape of the second casing 2.
Obviously, the first housing 1 and the second housing 2 may have any other suitable shape. For example, it is also conceivable that the first housing 1 has a flange extending in a direction toward the printed circuit board 4 at its outer edge, thereby allowing the inner peripheral wall of the first housing 1 to surround the outer peripheral wall of the second housing 2, and the second sealant 9 is provided between the inner peripheral wall of the first housing 1 and the outer peripheral wall of the second housing 2.
In a preferred embodiment, the first housing 1 and the second housing 2 are each integrally formed by die casting. This allows the first housing 1 having the boss 8 and the second housing 2 having the recess 7 to be realized in a simple process. However, it should be understood that they may be implemented by any other suitable method known in the art.
In a preferred embodiment, the electrical device 100 is an electronic control unit for a vehicle.
In assembling the above-described electric apparatus 100, the printed circuit board 4 is first placed on the boss 8 of the first housing 1, then the second sealant 9 is applied on the outer peripheral wall of the first housing 1, and the first sealant 6 is applied around the hole of the printed circuit board 4 through which the screw 5 is allowed to pass, then the second housing 2 is placed in position around the first housing 1, and finally the screw 5 is inserted through the hole made for this purpose in the second housing 2 and the printed circuit board 4 and into the threaded hole of the boss 8, and the screw 5 is screwed into position with a torque wrench, thereby enclosing the printed circuit board 4 in the closed space between the first housing 1 and the second housing 2. Compared with the prior art, the assembling process is simpler and the production cost is lower.
Furthermore, the present invention relates to a vehicle comprising the electrical device 100.
Although the present invention has been described with reference to the preferred embodiments, the present invention is not limited thereto. Various changes and modifications can be made by one skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention, and the scope of the invention is to be determined by the appended claims.
