As shown in fig. 1 to 10, in the illustrated embodiment, a convex portion 21 that is slidably fitted to a slide groove 41 on the terminal holding body 4 is formed on an outer side surface of the mating end portion 20 of the terminal holding body 2 for locking the terminal holding body 4 to the terminal holding body 2 and allowing the terminal holding body 4 to move between a locking position or an unlocking position in a lateral direction X of the terminal holding body 2. The boss portion 21 slides along the slide groove 41 when the terminal lock member 4 moves between the lock position or the unlock position in the lateral direction X of the terminal holding body 2.
As shown in fig. 1 to 10, in the illustrated embodiment, when the terminal lock member 4 is moved to the lock position, the boss portion 21 is moved to one end of the slide groove 41 and abuts against the inner side face of one end of the slide groove 41. When the terminal lock 4 is moved to the unlock position, the boss portion 21 is moved to the other end of the slide groove 41 and abuts on the inner side face of the other end of the slide groove 41.
As shown in fig. 1 to 10, in the illustrated embodiment, the terminal holding body 2 has upper and lower sides opposed in a thickness direction Z thereof and left and right sides opposed in a lateral direction X thereof. Wall recesses 210 adapted to be engaged with the first side plate 410 on the terminal lock 4 are formed on the left and right sides of the upper and lower sides of the mating end 20 of the terminal holding body 2, respectively, and protrusions 21 are formed on the bottom surfaces of the wall recesses 210.
As shown in fig. 1 to 10, in the illustrated embodiment, an opening 201 is formed on the left side surface of the mating end portion 20 of the terminal holder 2 to allow the locking projection 432 on the terminal lock 4 to enter the terminal holder 2 via the opening 201 and engage with the recess 302 on the terminal 3.
As shown in fig. 1 to 10, in the illustrated embodiment, the terminal holding body 2 includes an outer peripheral wall 23 surrounding the mating end 20, and a gap allowing insertion of the mating insertion part 110 of the mating housing 100 is formed between the outer peripheral wall 23 and the mating end 20.
As shown in fig. 1 to 10, in the illustrated embodiment, a first groove 22a and a second groove 22b are formed on an end surface of the mating end portion 20 of the terminal holding body 2. The mating retention projection 22 is located between the first recess 22a and the second recess 22b. When the terminal lock piece 4 is moved to the lock position, the holding projection 42 on the terminal lock piece 4 enters the first groove 22a and abuts on one side of the mating holding projection 22. When the terminal lock member 4 is moved to the unlock position, the retaining projection 42 on the terminal lock member 4 enters the second groove 22b and abuts on the other side of the mating retaining projection 22.
As shown in fig. 1 to 10, in an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, there is also disclosed a connector mainly including: a housing 1, the aforementioned terminal holding module and terminals 3. The terminal holding module is mounted in the housing 1. The terminal 3 is mounted in the terminal holding body 2.
As shown in fig. 1 to 10, in the illustrated embodiment, the terminal 3 includes: a terminal body 30 and an elastic locking piece 301. A recess 302 adapted to engage with the locking projection 432 on the terminal locking member 4 is formed on the terminal body 30. The elastic locking piece 301 is mounted on the terminal body 30 and locked to the terminal holding body 2.
As shown in fig. 1 to 10, in an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, there is also disclosed a connector assembly, which mainly includes: the connector and a mating connector that mates with the connector. This mating connector mainly includes: a mating housing 100 and a mating terminal (not shown). The mating housing 100 is adapted to be mated with the housing 1 and the terminal holding body 2 of the connector. The mating terminal is mounted in the mating housing 100 and adapted to be inserted into the terminal holding body 2 to be mated with the terminal 3.
It is understood by those skilled in the art that the above-described embodiments are exemplary and can be modified by those skilled in the art, and that the structures described in the various embodiments can be freely combined without conflict in structure or principle, and that such modifications are intended to fall within the scope of the present invention.
Although the present invention has been described in connection with the accompanying drawings, the embodiments disclosed in the drawings are intended to exemplify preferred embodiments of the present invention, and should not be construed as limiting the present invention.

Claims (21)

1. A terminal lock adapted to be mounted on a terminal holding body for locking a terminal in the terminal holding body, the terminal lock comprising:
an end plate having a front side and a rear side opposed in a thickness direction thereof,
a holding projection projecting in a thickness direction of the end plate is formed on a rear side surface of the end plate for engaging with a mating holding projection on a terminal holding body to hold the terminal locking piece at a locking position or an unlocking position,
when the terminal lock member is mounted on the terminal holding body, the holding projection and the mating holding projection project in the longitudinal direction of the terminal holding body, and the thickness direction of the end plate is parallel to the longitudinal direction of the terminal holding body.
2. A terminal lock according to claim 1, wherein:
the end plate has upper and lower sides opposed in a width direction thereof, and has:
the first slotted hole extends along the length direction and the width direction of the end plate, penetrates through the end plate along the thickness direction and is used for corresponding to a matching slot on the terminal holding body;
a second slot hole which is arranged adjacent to the first slot hole, penetrates through the end plate along the thickness direction and is used for corresponding to a tool slot on the terminal holding body; and
a third slot hole positioned on the side surface of the end plate and communicated with the second slot hole,
the second and third slots divide an elastic beam on the end plate, the holding projection being formed on a rear side surface of the elastic beam.
3. A terminal lock according to claim 2, wherein:
the end plate has:
two second slotted holes which are respectively positioned above and below the first slotted hole, penetrate through the end plate along the thickness direction and are respectively corresponding to two tool slots on the terminal holding body; and
two third slotted holes respectively positioned on the upper side surface and the lower side surface of the end plate and respectively communicated with the two second slotted holes,
the two second slots and the two third slots divide the end plate into an upper elastic beam and a lower elastic beam, and the retaining protrusions are respectively formed on the rear side surfaces of the middle parts of the two elastic beams.
4. A terminal lock according to claim 2, wherein:
the second slot has a first portion adjacent to the third slot and a second portion adjacent to the first slot, the first portion having a larger dimension in the length direction of the end plate than the second portion such that the second slot is in a convex shape;
the dimension of the second portion of the second slot in the length direction of the end plate is equal to the dimension of the tool insertion slot in the terminal holding body in the transverse direction of the terminal holding body.
5. A terminal lock according to claim 2, wherein:
the dimension of the third slot in the length direction of the end plate is equal to or greater than the dimension of the first portion of the second slot in the length direction of the end plate.
6. A terminal lock according to any one of claims 1-5, further comprising:
a first side plate connected to a rear side of the end plate and perpendicular to a width direction of the end plate,
a slide groove extending a predetermined length in a length direction of the end plate is formed on the first side plate for sliding engagement with a boss on the terminal holding body to lock the terminal lock member to the terminal holding body and to allow the terminal lock member to move between a lock position or an unlock position in a lateral direction of the terminal holding body,
when the terminal lock member is mounted on the terminal holding body, the length direction and the width direction of the end plate are parallel to the lateral direction and the thickness direction of the terminal holding body, respectively.
7. A terminal lock according to claim 6, wherein:
the end plate has left and right sides opposite in a length direction thereof;
the terminal locking member includes two pairs of first side plates, one pair of first side plates being connected to left and right sides of an upper side of the end plate, respectively, and the other pair of first side plates being connected to left and right sides of a lower side of the end plate, respectively.
8. A terminal lock according to claim 7, further comprising:
a second side plate connected to a left side of the end plate and extending rearward in a thickness direction of the end plate;
and a locking protrusion protruding along the length direction of the end plate is formed on the inner side surface of the second side plate, and the locking protrusion is used for matching with the concave part on the terminal to lock the terminal in the terminal holding body.
9. A terminal lock according to claim 8, wherein:
the outer side face of the second side plate is provided with a protruding rib extending along the thickness direction of the end plate, and the protruding rib is used for reducing a gap between the terminal locking piece and the insertion part of the opposite matching shell so as to prevent the terminal locking piece from shaking when the terminal locking piece is used.
10. A terminal retention module, comprising:
a terminal holding body having a mating end portion adapted to mate with the plug portion of the mating housing; and
the terminal lock of any one of claims 1 to 9, fitted over a mating end portion of the terminal holder,
the terminal lock member is movable relative to the terminal holding body between a lock position and an unlock position in a lateral direction of the terminal holding body,
a mating holding projection for holding the terminal locking piece at the locking position or the unlocking position is formed on an end face of the mating end portion of the terminal holding body to be engaged with the holding projection on the terminal locking piece,
the holding projection and the mating holding projection project in the longitudinal direction of the terminal holding body.
11. The terminal holding module according to claim 10, wherein:
a mating insertion groove corresponding to the first slot hole in the end plate is formed on an end surface of the mating end portion of the terminal holding body to allow a mating terminal to be inserted into the terminal holding body via the first slot hole and the mating insertion groove.
12. The terminal holding module according to claim 10, wherein:
a tool insertion groove corresponding to a second groove hole in the end plate is further formed on an end surface of the mating end portion of the terminal holding body to allow an unlocking tool for unlocking an elastic locking piece on the terminal to be inserted into the terminal holding body via the second groove hole and the tool insertion groove.
13. The terminal holding module according to claim 10, wherein:
a projection slidably fitted into a slide groove of the terminal locking member is formed on an outer side surface of the mating end portion of the terminal holding body for locking the terminal locking member to the terminal holding body and allowing the terminal locking member to move between a locking position or an unlocking position in a lateral direction of the terminal holding body.
14. The terminal-holding module according to claim 13, wherein:
when the terminal locking piece moves to the locking position, the convex part moves to one end of the sliding groove and abuts against the inner side face of one end of the sliding groove; and is provided with
When the terminal locking member is moved to the unlocking position, the projecting portion is moved to the other end of the slide groove and abuts against the inner side face of the other end of the slide groove.
15. The terminal-holding module according to claim 13, wherein:
the terminal holding body has upper and lower sides opposed in a thickness direction thereof and left and right sides opposed in a lateral direction thereof;
wall concave parts adapted to be engaged with the first side plate on the terminal lock are formed on the left and right sides of the upper and lower sides of the mating end part of the terminal holding body, respectively, and the convex parts are formed on the bottom surfaces of the wall concave parts.
16. The terminal-holding module of claim 15, wherein:
an opening is formed on a left side face of the mating end portion of the terminal holding body to allow a locking projection on the terminal lock to enter into the terminal holding body via the opening and to engage with a recess on the terminal.
17. The terminal-holding module of claim 16, wherein:
the terminal holding body includes a peripheral wall surrounding the mating end portion, and a gap allowing insertion of the insertion part of the mating housing is formed between the peripheral wall and the mating end portion.
18. The terminal holding module according to any one of claims 10 to 17, wherein:
a first groove and a second groove are formed on an end surface of a mating end portion of the terminal holding body, and the mating holding projection is located between the first groove and the second groove;
when the terminal locking piece moves to the locking position, the retaining protrusion on the terminal locking piece enters the first groove and abuts against one side of the corresponding retaining protrusion;
when the terminal lock is moved to the unlocked position, the retention projection on the terminal lock enters the second recess and abuts against the other side of the mating retention projection.
19. A connector, comprising:
a housing; and
the terminal holding module of any one of claims 10-18, mounted in the housing.
20. The connector of claim 19, further comprising a terminal,
the terminal is mounted in the terminal holding body, and includes:
a terminal body formed with a recess adapted to engage with the locking projection on the terminal locking piece; and
an elastic locking piece mounted on the terminal body and locked to the terminal holder.
21. A connector assembly, comprising:
the connector of claim 19 or 20; and
a mating connector adapted to mate with the connector,
the mating connector includes:
a mating housing adapted to mate with a housing and a terminal holding body of the connector; and
a mating terminal mounted in the mating housing adapted to be inserted into the terminal holding body to be mated with a terminal in the connector.
