A stool sampler is characterized by comprising an outer sampling tube for sampling formed stools and an inner sampling tube for sampling pasty stools, wherein the outer sampling tube is sleeved outside the inner sampling tube; the sampling outer pipe extends forwards and backwards, the front end pipe orifice is an outer pipe sampling socket for the excrement to enter and exit, and the rear end pipe orifice is an inner pipe extension orifice for the sampling inner pipe to extend out; the front end of the sampling inner tube is fixedly provided with an outer tube matching piston in sliding seal fit with the inner wall surface of the sampling outer tube or an outer tube matching push plate in sliding clearance fit with the inner wall surface of the sampling outer tube, the outer tube sampling socket is used for being inserted into formed excrement to enable the formed excrement to enter the sampling outer tube, the outer tube matching piston is used for drawing the sampling inner tube to move backwards for a set distance when the formed excrement is taken so as to form a sampling cavity for the formed excrement to enter at the front side of the outer tube matching piston, and the outer tube matching push plate is used for moving backwards under the pushing action of the formed excrement when the formed excrement is taken so as to enable the formed excrement to enter the sampling outer tube; the sampling inner tube is internally provided with an inner tube matching piston rod, the inner tube matching piston rod comprises an inner tube matching piston and a piston rod body driving the inner tube matching piston to move, and the sampling inner tube is provided with an inner tube sampling opening and a piston rod extending opening for the piston rod body to extend out; the inner pipe is matched with the piston rod and used for moving backwards to suck the pasty excrement when the pasty excrement is taken, and the inner pipe is matched with the sampling inner pipe to keep the pasty excrement in the sampling inner pipe; after sampling formed excrement, pushing the sampling inner tube forwards to push out the excrement sample under the action of an outer tube matching piston and an inner tube matching piston or under the action of an outer tube matching push plate and an inner tube matching piston; after pasty excrement is sampled, the excrement sample is pushed out under the action of the inner tube matched with the piston by pushing the inner tube matched with the piston forwards.
2. The fecal sampler of claim 1 wherein the sampling outer tube has a rear stop surface to limit the rearward withdrawal of the sampling inner tube and a front stop surface to limit the forward withdrawal of the sampling outer tube.

The fecal sampler of claim 2 wherein the inner wall of the sampling outer tube is provided with a front stop and a rear stop, the rear side of the front stop constituting said front stop face, the front side of the rear stop constituting said rear stop face, the outer wall of the sampling inner tube is provided with an inner tube stop for stop-cooperating with the front stop face to limit the forward removal of the sampling inner tube from the sampling outer tube, the inner tube stop is further for stop-cooperating with the rear stop face to limit the rearward removal of the sampling inner tube from the sampling outer tube.
4. The fecal sampler of claim 2 wherein the forward nozzle of the inner sampling tube is flush with the forward nozzle of the outer sampling tube when the inner sampling tube is moved forward into stop engagement with the forward stop surface of the outer sampling tube.
5. The sampler of claim 1, wherein the front side of the outer tube-engaging piston or the front side of the outer tube-engaging push plate is flush with the mouth of the inner sampling tube.
6. A sampler according to any one of claims 1 to 5, in which at least one of the inner and outer sampling tubes is provided with graduations.
7. A faecal sampler according to any of claims 1 to 5 wherein the internal bore of the inner sampling tube is of constant diameter.
8. A faecal sampler according to any of claims 1 to 5 wherein the internal bore of the outer sampling tube is of constant diameter.
9. A stool sampler assembly comprising a stool sampler and a storage container for storing a collected stool sample, wherein said stool sampler is a stool sampler according to any one of claims 1-8.
10. A stool sampler assembly according to claim 9, wherein the holding container includes a body having an opening and a cover for closing the opening of the body.
