That is, bearing 104 and bearing mount 106 are thicker than tool shank 101. This arrangement further protects the cutting tool from wear due to direct contact with the tool holder.
According to one embodiment of the present invention, the centrally located hole 102 is disposed at the center of gravity of the cutting tool 100.
According to one embodiment of the present invention, the bearing holders 106 are clearance fit with the centrally located aperture 102. That is, there is a suitable gap between the bearing holder 106 and the centrally located hole 102, which allows room for possible displacement of the bearing 104 (and the bearing holder 106) after being pressed and rubbed by the tool holder during operation, thereby avoiding damage to the centrally located hole 102 of the cutting tool 100.
