8. The rope protector as claimed in claim 7, wherein said retaining portion has a width equal to a length of a portion of said tongue between said support seats.
9. A rope protection arrangement as claimed in claim 2, wherein a flanged bush is provided in each of said through holes.
10. A cord protection device as recited in claim 1, wherein said first base plate is integrally formed with said second base plate.
