Description

External environment observation system for vehicle and vehicle
[ technical field ] A method for producing a semiconductor device
The utility model relates to an external environment of vehicle observes (visualization) system.
The present invention also relates to a vehicle including such an external environment observation system.
[ background of the invention ]
The means for observing the environment outside the vehicle are generally formed by one or more optical mirrors integrated into a bracket fixed to the outside of the door of the vehicle, so as to be visible to the driver of the vehicle. Such viewing devices are also known under the name of rear-view mirrors. The rear view mirror in particular enables viewing of a part of the environment behind the vehicle.
However, such rear-view mirrors do not allow the driver to observe the entire environment, and certain areas, called "blind spots", which are always invisible to the driver, which can lead to accidents when the vehicle is manoeuvred, especially in the case of an obstacle at one of these blind spots. Furthermore, the image perceived by the driver is not a faithful reproduction of the real situation, since the reflected object is deformed by the optical mirrors used to cover a wide viewing angle.
To alleviate these drawbacks, it is known to add one or more image acquisition devices and display the acquired images on a display device in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Such a device enables the display of a complementary image of the vehicle environment and in particular enables the observation of an environment extending into the blind spot of the rear view mirror. Thus, for example, it is proposed to add a camera (cammira) to the rear of the vehicle in order to view the environment extending behind the vehicle, the image captured by this camera being displayed on a display device on the dashboard prepared between the front seats of the vehicle.
However, in order to learn all of this information, the driver must view a rear view mirror located outside the vehicle and a display device located inside the vehicle. This forces the driver to move his gaze away from the road, which can lead to a risk of accidents. In addition, the viewing device is particularly space consuming, in particular the space outside the vehicle, and therefore the rear view mirror degrades the aerodynamic performance of the vehicle.
One of the objects of the present invention is to alleviate these drawbacks by proposing a system for observing the environment outside a vehicle comprising an observation device that occupies little space and can be integrated into the driver's field of vision, so that the driver does not have to look away from the road.
[ Utility model ] content
To this end, the utility model relates to an external environment observation system of vehicle, it includes: at least one bracket element defining an outer surface intended to extend to the vehicle exterior and an inner surface intended to extend to the vehicle interior; and at least one viewing device for viewing the environment outside the vehicle, the viewing device comprising at least one image acquisition device and at least one display device arranged to display images acquired by the image acquisition device, wherein the viewing device comprises an outer portion extending over an outer surface of the carrier element and comprising the image acquisition device, and an inner portion extending over an inner surface of the carrier element and comprising the display device, and the viewing device is free of optics.
In this way, the observation device comprises only the image acquisition device outside the vehicle, which reduces the space it occupies and thus improves the aerodynamic performance of the vehicle; and the observation device includes only the display device inside the vehicle, which reduces the area that the driver is to be aware of in order to be able to understand the environment behind the vehicle, and enables him to avoid looking away from the road, in particular by mounting the display device in his natural field of view when he is looking at the road.
According to other optional features of the invention, said features are taken alone or according to any technically conceivable combination:
the viewing means constitute a single module that can be fitted on the support element;
the observation means further comprise: at least one reminder surface extending around at least a portion of the display device; and at least one light source arranged to illuminate at least a portion of the reminder surface, the illumination of the reminder surface varying depending on the external environment of the vehicle;
the image acquisition means comprise an image sensor and a support projecting from an outer surface of the support element, said image sensor being fixed to a free end of the support;
the system comprises two bracket elements and two viewing devices, which are intended to extend on both sides of the passenger compartment of the vehicle;

[ detailed description ] embodiments
With reference to fig. 1 and 2, an external environment observation system 1 of a vehicle intended to be fitted on a vehicle body is described. The viewing system 1 comprises at least one carrier element 2 and at least one viewing device 4 for viewing the environment outside the vehicle.
The carrier element 2 is for example a door of a vehicle, in particular a part of a front door of a vehicle, and the object of the viewing device 4 is to replace a rear view mirror which is normally fitted on such a door.
The bracket element 2 defines an outer surface 6 extending to the exterior of the vehicle and an inner surface 8 extending to the interior of the vehicle. In other words, the outer surface 6 forms part of a surface on the outside of the vehicle, and the inner surface 8 forms part of a surface of a passenger compartment of the vehicle, which delimits the passenger compartment with respect to the outside of the vehicle. In this way, the outer surface 6 of the bracket element 2 is formed, for example, by a portion of a body panel of a door of the vehicle, while the inner surface 8 is formed by an interior trim element of the passenger compartment, which portion of the body panel and the interior trim element are fitted, for example, on and on both sides of a window pillar 10 of the door of the vehicle, as shown in fig. 4. The carrier element 2 forms a lower front corner 12 of a window, for example a door of a vehicle. In this way, the carrier element 2 extends in front of the driver, at substantially the same height as the base of the windscreen 14 of the vehicle, on both the left and right sides of the vehicle, with respect to the driver of the vehicle, as shown in fig. 1. It is to be understood that the bracket element 2 may be formed by another part of the vehicle, such as for example a windscreen pillar.
The viewing device 4 comprises at least one image acquisition device 16 and at least one display device 18. The image acquisition device 16 and the display device 18 extend on both sides of the console element 2, such that the image acquisition device 16 forms an exterior part of the viewing device 4 extending to the exterior of the vehicle and the display device 18 belongs to an interior part of the viewing device 4 extending to the interior of the vehicle. In this way, the image acquisition device 16 is mounted on the outer surface 6 of the support element 2 and the display device 18 is mounted on the inner surface of the support element 2.
The image acquisition device 16 comprises an image sensor 20, such as a camera, and a bracket 22 enabling the image sensor 20 to be fitted on the outer surface 6 of the bracket element 2, such that the image acquisition device 16 extends protruding from the outer surface of the bracket element 2 towards the outside of the vehicle.
The image sensor 20 is arranged to acquire an image of the environment outside the vehicle, more specifically of the side of the vehicle on which the image acquisition device 16 extends outside and the area extending to the rear of the vehicle, to inform the driver of the presence of other vehicles and/or obstacles in this outside environment.
The holder 2 comprises a first end portion 24 fitted on the holder element 2 and a free second end portion 26 extending opposite the end portion 24 and carrying the image sensor 20. The length of the bracket 2 between the first end portion 24 and the second end portion 26 is arranged such that the image sensor 20 is sufficiently spaced from the outer surface 6 of the bracket element 2 to be able to capture images of a wider area of the environment outside the vehicle, in particular towards the rear of the vehicle. Thus, by way of example, the length is such that the field of view of the image sensor 20 covers the entire vehicle side and a substantial area extending behind that side of the vehicle.
Since the image sensor 20 has a small size, the bracket 22 may be sized so that it can perform its supporting task for the image sensor 20 while having a small surface so as to limit the windward side (la print auvent) of the image taking apparatus 16. For this purpose, the support 22 is formed, for example, by two branches 28 extending between a first end portion 24 and a free second end portion 26, which carries a housing 30, in which housing 30 the image sensor 20 is accommodated. A housing 30 is accommodated between the two branches 28, for example. Between the first end portion 24 and the second end portion 26, the two branches 28 are separated from each other, so that air can flow between the two branches 28. In this way, the image acquisition device 16 offers little resistance to the flow of air around the vehicle and less degradation of the aerodynamic performance of the vehicle than conventional rear view mirrors, in which the rear view mirror occupies a relatively large area, forming an obstacle to the flow of air. In practice, the image acquisition device 16 does not have an optical mirror extending outside the vehicle. It is to be understood that the bracket 22 may have different forms depending on the appearance of the vehicle. It may for example be formed by only a single branch carrying the housing 30 at its free end.
The connection of the image sensor 20, i.e. the one or more cables 32 for feeding and transmitting signals representative of the image acquired by the image acquisition means, extends from the image sensor 20 towards the interior of the vehicle, for example by passing inside the branch 28, as shown in fig. 4. The cable is then passed through a prepared hole in the stand element 2 to be directly connected to the display device 18 through the stand element 2. By "directly connected" is meant that the connection of the image sensor does not necessarily need to be connected to the electronic system of the vehicle, so that the viewing system can simply be fitted in the vehicle as a separate individual, for example to replace the rear view mirror of the vehicle.
The display device 18 comprises a screen 34 arranged to display the image acquired by the image acquisition device 16. The screen 34 extends from the inner surface 8 of the carrier element 2 against which it projects such that the screen 34 extends into the passenger compartment adjacent one side of the vehicle. More particularly, the screen 34 extends across from the lower corner of the support of the windscreen 14, for example, so that it is in the driver's field of view, so that the driver does not have to look away from the road. More particularly, the driver does not need to look through the windows of the doors of the vehicle as is the case with conventional rearview mirrors to find an environment outside the vehicle. The screen 34 may also be a tactile screen, for example, to enable adjustment of the display on the screen 34, the orientation of the image sensor 20, and/or the magnification of the captured image by tactile contact directly on the surface of the screen 34.
The viewing system may also be arranged to display other information on the display device 18, for example on an image displayed by the screen 34 or around the screen 34, as will be described later.
In this way, the viewing system may, for example, be arranged to identify obstacles in the environment outside the vehicle and display them on the screen 34. In this case, the image displayed by the screen 34 may be changed, for example, to highlight such presence of obstacles, for example, by changing the color of such obstacles, by circling them, or otherwise.
Further, according to one embodiment, the viewing device 4 includes a reminder surface 36 around at least a portion of the screen 34, which enables additional information to be displayed in addition to the images displayed on the screen 34. Such a reminder surface 36 is illuminated by at least one light source (not shown) which extends, for example, below the reminder surface 36 so as to backlight it. The light source and the reminder surface are for example arranged such that the pictograph or pattern 38 is illuminated and becomes visible, for example depending on the environment outside the vehicle. Thus, the pattern 38 is illuminated or changes color, for example, when there is an obstacle near the vehicle. Such detection of the approach of an obstacle is obtained, for example, by using an image acquired by the image acquisition device 16. Alternatively or additionally, the detection is obtained by means of one or more proximity sensors arranged on the vehicle to detect the approach of an obstacle around the vehicle. Advantageously, the viewing system is coupled to and makes use of one or more proximity sensors arranged to detect objects extending in the blind spot of the vehicle, i.e. in the region in which the image acquisition device 18 cannot acquire images due to the geometry of the vehicle. In this way, the driver has information about all elements located in the vicinity of the vehicle, on the one hand by means of the display device 18 and, on the other hand, by means of one or more reminder surfaces 36 indicating that an object may be present in the blind spot of the vehicle. As shown in fig. 2 and 3, the pattern 38 may be arranged to change color, shape, and/or location, for example, depending on the distance the vehicle is spaced from an obstacle located in the blind spot.
Further, according to an embodiment, the viewing device 4 comprises a control device 40 arranged around at least a portion of the display device 18, the control device 40 being configured to control the image acquisition device 16 and/or the display device 18.
The control device 40 includes, for example, one or more buttons 42 to enable control of the image capture device 16 and/or the display device 18. Each button is physical or tactile. The physical button includes a movable element that is manually displaceable by a user and a displacement sensor of the movable element, for example. The tactile button takes the form of a so-called "tactile" surface provided with a sensor, for example an inductive sensor or a capacitive sensor, adapted to detect the user's interaction with the tactile surface.
In one embodiment, the image capture device 16 is steerable and the control device 40 is configured to control the orientation of the image capture device 16, the display device 18 is steerable and the control device 40 is configured to control the orientation of the display device 18, and/or the display device has several image display modes and the control device 40 is configured to control the image display modes on the display device 18. The orientation of the image acquisition means 16 makes it possible, for example, to change the region viewed by means of the image acquisition means 16 as desired by the driver, or to perform a specific maneuver, for example a backset. The orientation of the display device 18 makes it possible to take into account the position of the driver and his form so that he can see the display device 18 as comfortably as possible. The various display modes of the display device 18 enable various information to be displayed according to the driver's desire. They enable, for example, the activation/deactivation of the highlighting of obstacles present in the displayed image.
According to the embodiment shown in fig. 1, the observation system comprises two bracket elements 2 and two observation devices 4, which are prepared on the front right and front left doors of the vehicle. In this way, the vehicle may be completely free of optics outside the vehicle.
The above-described viewing system enables an effective and advantageous replacement of conventional vehicle rear-view mirrors, which is easy to install, reduces the occupied vehicle space, improves the aerodynamic performance of the vehicle by providing that the outer part of the one or more viewing devices comprises only the image acquisition device 16. The viewing system also enables the driving conditions of the driver to be improved by providing that the display device forms part of the interior portion of the one or more viewing devices.
