Abstract
The utility model provides a fastening system, main part, area and wrist-watch. Specifically, an attachment system for releasably attaching a strap to a body, such as attaching a watch strap to a watch, is provided. The attachment system comprises a receiving unit and an attachment unit which are releasably connectable to each other, thereby enabling easy exchange of one strap for another. Furthermore, the system does not comprise any movable or loose parts and is easy to use, since no complicated mechanisms or tools are required.
Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a fastening system for reversibly attaching a strap, belt, link or the like to an object. The object may be, for example, a watch, accessory or jewelry.
Background
Wearable devices such as watches may be provided with an attachment system for connecting and releasing, for example, a watchband. The band is attached to the watch case or body and secures the watch body to the wrist of the user. The wristband is engaged with a relative or corresponding part, such as a module, recess, hole, runner or part of the watch body.
Many standard solutions typically include special tools, pins, and/or spring-based solutions for securing the removable wristband. For example, the receiving portion may include a pin that captures the strap, thereby attaching the strap to the body. To detach the belt from the body, the pin needs to be removed. In some cases, removal of the tape may be accomplished with a special tool. However, in many cases, the user may need to visit a specialized store or require the assistance of a technician to remove the tape.
Furthermore, a fixed attachment mechanism attached to or arranged in the watch body does not allow the attached wristband to adapt to the size or shape of the user's wrist, i.e. a cavity is formed under the fastening system with the attached strap and the user's wrist.
In addition, many fastening systems also include small loose parts that are easily lost or damaged.
The prior art has the disadvantage of requiring special tools or awkward mechanisms that require the user to press or push a very small surface with a finger to open the lock. The tool often disappears.
There is therefore a need for a user-friendly fastening system, i.e. one that does not comprise loose parts or require tools for unlocking the locking mechanism or the clumsy mechanism by means of fingers.
SUMMERY OF THE UTILITY MODEL
It is an object of the present invention to solve some of the problems of the prior art.
A first object of the present invention relates to a fastening system for attaching a strap, strip or the like to an object.
The fastening system reversibly attaches a strap, strip, link or the like to an object, the fastening system comprising:
i) a receiving unit designed as a longitudinal cavity with an upper part having a circular cross section and a lower part designed as a slot. The circular cross-section has a diameter greater than the width of the slot. At least one recess or groove is arranged in the upper part of the cavity.
The receiving unit is angled slightly outward from the body, wherein the angle α is greater than 90 degrees; and
ii) an attachment unit comprising a first longitudinal shaft having a circular cross-section and at least one locking unit arranged on the first shaft. At least one vertical arm is attached to the first shaft, and the diameter of the circular cross-section of the first shaft is slightly smaller than the diameter of the circular cross-section of the receiving unit. The first shaft is designed to be inserted transversely into an upper portion of the receiving unit. When the first part is inserted into its final position in the receiving unit, the at least one locking unit is arranged at a location of the first shaft corresponding to a location where the at least one recess or groove is arranged inside the upper part.
The first shaft of the attachment unit may further include a stopper unit disposed at a side where the circular cross-section is not inserted.
The first shaft of the attachment unit may comprise two or more locking units and the circular cross-section of the receiving unit may comprise two or more corresponding recesses or grooves.
It is a further object to provide a body comprising a receiving unit as described above.
It is a further object to provide a strap, strip, link or the like comprising an attachment unit as described above. The strap is for example a watch strap.
It is a further object to provide a watch comprising:
a) a watch body including the receiving unit as described above; and
b) a watch band comprising an attachment unit as described above at one end, and wherein the watch band is releasably attached to the watch via the receiving unit.
Further, the present invention also provides a method of attaching a strap to a body by using the above attachment system.

Detailed Description
The object of the present invention is to provide a fastening system 1 that enables quick replacement of straps, strips, links or the like, for example watchbands. The detailed description includes specific details in order to provide a thorough understanding of the subject technology. It will be clear and apparent, however, to one skilled in the art that the subject technology is not limited to the specific details set forth herein, and may be practiced without these specific details.
Wearable devices such as watches may be provided with an attachment system for connecting and releasing a removable module that interfaces with some portion of the device. For example, the watch may include a band attached to the body 10 and securing the watch to the wrist of the user. The watch band engages with the relevant or corresponding module, recess, hole, cavity or part of the watch body 10.
The present attachment system provides ease of connection, secure retention, ease of release, and aesthetic qualities. For example, an attachment system for a watch is desired to retain and selectively release the band without adversely affecting the look and feel of the watch.
The present attachment system 1 provides the advantage of easy and smooth removal of a watch strap or the like without the need for tools. The attachment system 1 does not contain loose parts, which further reduces the risk of losing or breaking the attachment system 1. The attachment system 1 may also be applied for closing or connecting several other objects, such as jewelry, bracelets, necklaces, links or the like.
The attachment system 1 may also be applied as a unit for lengthening or shortening a link, strap, belt or the like. This may be achieved by connecting at least two attachment systems 1 to each other, which attachment systems 1 comprise a receiving unit at one end (first shaft) and an attachment unit at the opposite end (second shaft).
In the present invention, a strap or a strap is to be interpreted as any strap, band or the like, such as a watchband, a link or any strap that benefits from such an attachment mechanism or system 1 as provided by the present invention.
The attachment system 1 comprises a receiving unit 20 and an attachment unit 30. The receiving unit 20 is integrated in the body 10 or the wristwatch 10. The attachment unit 30 is arranged on the end of the strap or the like, which end is to be attached to the body or the watch 10.
Fig. 1 shows a bottom view of a watch or body 10 comprising a longitudinal receiving unit 20 and an attachment unit 30 of the invention. The receiving unit 20 comprises a cavity having an upper portion 21 and a lower portion 22. The upper part 21 has a circular cross-section and is adapted to receive the circular cross-section of the first shaft 31 of the attachment unit 30. The upper part 21 further comprises at least one recess or groove 23 to receive at least one locking unit 33 arranged on the first shaft 31 of the attachment unit 30.
The attachment unit 30 includes: a first longitudinal axis 31 at which the at least one locking unit 33 is arranged 31; and a stop unit 36, which stop unit 36 is arranged on one side of the first shaft 31 to stop the lateral insertion movement of the units into the correct position when the at least one locking unit 33 can enter the respective recess or groove 23 by turning the attachment unit 30 to the locking position as described in fig. 2.
One embodiment of the attachment unit 30 comprises a first shaft 31 and a second shaft 32, which are connected to each other via at least one arm 35. The first shaft 31 has a circular cross section and fits inside the first portion 21 of the receiving unit 20. The stopper unit 36 may be disposed at a side of the first shaft 31 not entering the receiving unit 20. The number of arms 35 is at least one, but may be any suitable number, e.g. 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, depending on the design.
The at least one locking unit 33 may be disposed at the left, right, inner, or outer side of the at least one vertical arm 35 and faces the second shaft 32. The shape of the at least one locking unit 33 may be in the form of a rectangular protrusion, but other shapes are also possible.
The lengths of the first longitudinal axis 31 and the second longitudinal axis 32 need not be equal.
Another embodiment of the attachment system consists of a unit consisting of a male part at one end 31 (first shaft) and a female part at the other end 20 (second shaft) connected to the first end by at least one arm 35. These units may be connected to each other and used to lengthen or shorten a link or belt.
The receiving unit 20 may be recessed or attached by methods known in the art for watches or main bodies 10. In this embodiment, the main body 10 and the recess 20 are molded as one piece. The attachment unit 30 is attached by a known method to the end of the strap, which is to be attached to the body or the watch 10.
The receiving unit is angled and the angle (a) is greater than 90 degrees, with the upper portion sloping outwardly from the body 10. The first longitudinal axis 31 of the attachment unit 30 is arranged transversely into the upper part 21 of the receiving unit 20 and at least one arm 35 is inserted into the slot 22 (a in fig. 2). This movement is mechanically stopped by a stop unit 36 arranged on the first shaft 31. This movement is stopped at the position where the at least one locking unit 33 reaches its desired position where the corresponding recess or groove 23 is arranged inside the upper part 21 of the receiving unit 20.
This arrangement is fixed by: the attachment of the strap to the watch is secured by turning the attachment unit 30 out of the watch as shown in dotted lines (B in fig. 2) until at least one locking unit 33 enters its respective recess or groove 23 and into a locked position.
If the watch is fixed around the wrist, the attachment unit 30 can only be inserted into the receiving unit 20 at an angle that cannot naturally (in fact not at all) occur. This ensures that the lock is not inadvertently opened when the watch is worn on the arm.
The wristband is replaced by holding the watch 10 with one hand and grasping one of the wristbands with the other hand. The attachment unit 30 is brought back to the angle required for insertion into the receiving unit 20 and the process is reversed, i.e. the attachment unit 30 is laterally removed from the receiving unit 20. The whole process takes several seconds, does not require tools, and does not require pressing or pushing the small unit with a finger or the like.
The above-described procedure is achieved in that the receiving unit 20 and the attachment unit 30 are positioned and dimensioned in such a way that they are mutually connected/interact with each other, that the attachment unit 30 extends in the receiving unit 20 when the attachment unit 30 is rotated from the insertion angle to the horizontal position. Furthermore, the stop 36 ensures that the attachment unit 30 is in the correct position and allows the attachment unit 30 to move only in one direction from time to time. This further increases user-friendliness and safety, since the attachment unit 30 can only be slid accidentally in one direction. The fact that the stop (stop unit) 36 is located on the right side is intentionally provided, since it means that the attachment unit 30 is even less likely to be released unintentionally, since most people wear the watch on the left arm. This in turn means that even if the attachment unit 30 can be turned to the angle required for unloading to the side, this means that gravity will pull the watch in the direction that the stop 36 prevents. Since both the first shaft 31 and the upper portion 21 have a circular cross-section, the first shaft 31 remains in the receiving unit 20 regardless of the angle of the attachment unit 30 relative to the receiving unit 20.
Further, since the lower portion 22 has a smaller width than the diameter of the upper portion 21, the attachment unit 30 may be inserted into the receiving unit 20 at an angle. The lower portion 22 has a width corresponding to the width of the at least one arm 35. This enables the above-described functions to be achieved and ensures that the attachment unit 30 remains in place within the receiving unit 20 until it is desired to remove it.
The first shaft 31 comprising the at least one locking unit 33 of the attachment system 20 and the receiving unit 20 comprising the upper portion 21 and the lower portion 22 and the at least one recess or groove 23 are important features of the attachment system 1 of the present invention. The connection of the attachment unit 30 to the belt or the like can be achieved by solutions that are already in use today and are not part of the invention itself. The system of the present invention is not limited to the embodiments discussed herein.
