Description

Boundary sealing member mounting structure
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a mounting structure of a boundary seal (partingseal) for sealing a boundary portion such as a door end portion of an automobile.
Background
Conventionally, a door sash of an automobile is provided with a frame (sash) along each pillar (pillar) portion of a vehicle body, and a garnish (garnish) is provided on the outside of the frame. The garnish is provided with a boundary seal for sealing a gap between the garnish and a vehicle body (door). Hereinafter, a conventional mounting structure of the boundary seal will be described with reference to fig. 7 and 8. Here, a description will be given of a seal boundary seal which is provided on a center pillar portion (center pillar) P, that is, a garnish on the front end side of the rear door 1 and seals a boundary portion Q between the rear door 1 and the front door 2, and a mounting structure thereof. Fig. 7 shows a side view of the left side of the automobile, and fig. 8 shows a cross section taken along line C-C of fig. 7.
As shown in fig. 7 and 8, along the center pillar portion P of the vehicle, garnishes 300 and 400 are provided at the front end of the rear door 1 and the rear end of the front door 2, respectively. In addition, a conventional demarcation seal 100 is mounted to the front end portions of an inner panel (inner panel)1a and an outer panel (outer panel)1b of the rear door 1. Specifically, the boundary seal 100 includes an attachment portion 101 provided with a fitting groove 101a, and a lip-shaped boundary seal portion 102 extending to the opposite side of the opening of the fitting groove 101a, and the boundary seal 100 is attached to the rear door 1 by fitting the fitting groove 101a to the front end portions of the inner panel 1a and the outer panel 1 b. After the demarcation seal 100 is mounted, the garnish 300 is mounted at the front end portion of the rear door 1 from the vehicle exterior side. Specifically, a boss portion (boss)301 is provided on the vehicle interior side surface of the garnish 300, a notch for screwing a screw is provided on the inner side of the boss portion 301, and the garnish 300 is attached to the rear door 1 by a screw (screen) 5 that penetrates the inner panel 1a and the outer panel 1b of the rear door 1 and is screwed to the boss portion 301. The front end of the garnish 300 has a protruding portion 302 protruding toward the vehicle interior side, and a mounting groove 103 is provided in a mounting portion of the boundary seal 100 corresponding to the position of the protruding portion 302, and the protruding portion 302 of the garnish 300 is inserted into the mounting groove 103. According to the above structure, the demarcation seal 100 is mounted on the garnish 300 and the rear door 1. The boundary seal portion 102 extends forward from the position of the mounting groove 103, and the boundary seal portion 102 seals a boundary portion Q between the front end portion of (the garnish 300 of) the rear door 1 and the rear end portion of (the garnish 400 of) the front door 2.
In the case of such a boundary seal mounting structure, at least the mounting order of the garnish and the boundary seal needs to be considered for the door panel (door panel), and the operation may become complicated. That is, it is necessary to attach the trim to the door with the trim interposed therebetween by screws, and the operator is burdened with a large burden from the viewpoint of positional accuracy and man-hours for attachment, and the screw head is located at a position easily visible from the vehicle interior side, which results in poor appearance.
As a configuration capable of solving the problems of the above-described demarcation seal attachment structure, patent document 1 discloses a structure in which a demarcation seal is separately formed from a glass run (glass run) attached to a garnish, as shown in fig. 3 and 4. The demarcation seal of patent document 1 has a structure that is assembled only to the garnish. In the demarcation seal attachment structure of patent document 1, as shown in fig. 9, an opening 501 that opens toward the front side is provided at the front end portion of a garnish 500 of a rear door, and a demarcation seal 600 is attached by fitting it into the opening 501. Here, for the sake of convenience, description of the lip (1ip)23 and the part of the garnish 6 other than the boundary seal mounting portion disclosed in fig. 3 and 4 of patent document 1 is omitted in fig. 9. Specifically, a protrusion 502 protruding inward is formed on a side wall of the garnish 500 in the opening 501, and a fitting portion 601 is provided at a tip end of the boundary seal 600. In particular, the width X of the fitting portion 601 is set to be larger than the opening width Y of the opening portion 501 of the garnish 500, and is configured such that: when the fitting portion 601 is inserted into the opening portion 501, the arrow-shaped portion of the fitting portion 601 is elastically deformed in the direction in which it is closed by the projection portion 502, and further, when the arrow-shaped portion of the fitting portion 601 is further inserted deep by the projection portion 502, it is elastically deformed in the direction in which the arrow-shaped portion of the fitting portion 601 is opened, so that the movement of the fitting portion 601 in the direction in which it is removed from the opening portion 501 can be restricted.
According to the demarcation seal attachment structure disclosed in patent document 1 having the above configuration, the attachment portion (opening portion) for attaching the demarcation seal is provided on the garnish and is constituted only by the recessed opening portion, so that the demarcation seal can be attached more easily than the case of adopting the structure disclosed in fig. 8.
In the demarcation seal attachment structure shown in fig. 3 of patent document 1, the trim is fitted into a groove, which is open on the side of the demarcation section opposite to the opening into which the demarcation seal is fitted, into an edge portion (flange portion) of the door inner panel and the door outer panel, which are bonded to each other. Further, the vehicle interior side surface of the garnish is fixed to the outer panel with tape or the like (see fig. 3 and paragraph 0023 of patent document 1). In addition to this mounting method, for example, as shown in fig. 7 of patent document 2, a method is adopted in which a garnish is fastened to a door panel by a fastener on the window glass side (the side opposite to the boundary portion) to be fixed. In this case, a fastening portion extending in the vehicle interior direction is provided at a portion of the garnish on the window glass side, and then the fastening portion is fastened to the door panel by a fastener. In this method, generally, the end portion on the boundary side of the garnish is hooked on the edge portion of the door panel, and then the fastening portion is attached to the door panel and fastened with a fastener.
In the mounting structure of the demarcation seal of patent document 1 shown in fig. 9, although the demarcation seal 600 can be easily assembled to the garnish 500 as described above, there is a possibility that a problem occurs in the manufacture thereof or the like. This will be described in detail below.
First, in the garnish 500, it is necessary to provide a protrusion 502 to a groove-shaped mounting groove (opening) 501 that opens in the front-rear direction of the automobile to prevent the boundary seal 600 from coming off. However, due to design, the automobile has almost no straight line in the front view, particularly in the upper portion of the belt line (belt line) portion, and in fact, almost all lines are curved gently with the line inclined inward (vehicle interior side) toward the upper side. Therefore, in the garnish cross-sectional structure of patent document 1, the mold release (die cutting) at the time of molding the garnish 500 with a gentle curve is not considered, and this structure is difficult to achieve. That is, the mold provided at the position of the opening portion 501 in the garnish 500 cannot be detached in both the vehicle front-rear direction and the vehicle vertical direction, and for example, a hole portion for mold release needs to be provided at a side wall position S on the vehicle exterior side or the vehicle interior side of the opening portion 501. However, the garnish 500 is an externally exposed member, and if a hole is provided at the side wall position S on the vehicle exterior side or the vehicle interior side, the appearance is not preferable.
Further, although the tip of the fitting portion 601 of the boundary seal 600 of patent document 1 has an arrow shape, in the case where the boundary seal 600 is made of a hard material, the column portion of the fitting portion 601 needs to be tapered to some extent so as to be inserted into the opening portion 501 of the garnish 500. However, such a configuration is not preferable because the boundary seal is likely to be loosened. Alternatively, the fitting portion 601 may be formed in a hollow shape so as to be easily bent and inserted into the opening portion 501, but the sectional shape of the boundary seal 600 needs to be increased to manufacture the hollow portion, which increases the cost. Further, in order to manufacture the hollow portion, the pillar portion needs to be thickened to some extent, and the opening width of the opening portion of the garnish needs to be increased accordingly, which is not preferable. Further, the arrow-shaped portion at the tip of the fitting portion 601 needs to be thin, and thus, the shape stability is insufficient when the sectional shape of the boundary seal 600 is extrusion-molded, and it is not suitable for mass production.

SUMMERY OF THE UTILITY MODEL
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to easily manufacture a garnish and a boundary sealing member, and further to easily perform an assembling operation of the garnish and the boundary sealing member.
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a boundary seal attachment structure in which an opening for fitting a seal member to a garnish is provided, and in particular, two types of openings having different sectional structures are alternately arranged.
Specifically, the boundary seal mounting structure of the present invention includes a garnish provided on one door of a vehicle, and a boundary seal mounted on the garnish to seal a boundary portion between the garnish and another door or a boundary portion between the garnish and a vehicle body, characterized in that the boundary seal includes a mounting portion for mounting on the garnish, and a seal lip (seal lip) extending from the mounting portion to the boundary portion side; the garnish includes a mounting groove that is open at the boundary side and is formed by an exterior side wall, an interior side wall, and a bottom wall, and the mounting portion of the boundary seal is inserted into the mounting groove; the mounting portion includes a mounting leg portion protruding toward an opposite side of the seal lip and inserted into the mounting groove; the mounting leg portion includes a vehicle exterior protrusion that protrudes toward a vehicle exterior, and a vehicle interior protrusion that is provided at a position that does not overlap with the vehicle exterior protrusion in a vehicle front-rear direction, and protrudes toward a vehicle interior; the mounting grooves are formed by alternately arranging a first mounting groove and a second mounting groove which have different cross-sectional shapes along the length direction of the decorating part; the first mounting groove includes a vehicle exterior side locking projection and a vehicle interior side locking projection, the vehicle exterior side locking projection is provided at a position corresponding to the vehicle exterior side projection on the vehicle exterior side wall in a state where the mounting leg portion is mounted, the vehicle interior side locking projection is provided at a position corresponding to the vehicle interior side projection on the vehicle interior side wall and at a position not overlapping with the vehicle exterior side locking projection in a vehicle front-rear direction, the first mounting groove further includes a through hole from the bottom wall to the vehicle interior side locking projection on the vehicle interior side wall; the second mounting groove does not include the vehicle outside locking projection, the vehicle inside locking projection, and the through hole; the vehicle exterior side locking protrusion and the vehicle interior side locking protrusion of the first mounting groove are configured to: the mounting leg portion is engaged with the vehicle exterior side projection and the vehicle interior side projection of the mounting leg portion, respectively, to restrict movement of the mounting leg portion in a direction of coming out from the mounting groove.
According to the boundary seal mounting structure of the present invention, since the boundary seal can be directly mounted on the mounting groove provided in the garnish, even if the roof (roof) of the vehicle employs a concealed glass run (for example, the type described in paragraph 0040 and fig. 7 of japanese patent application laid-open No. 2017 and 13599), and the pillar-side glass run and the boundary seal are integrated by the concealed glass run, there is no need to consider the order of assembling the garnish, the window frame, and the boundary seal to the door panel, and the workability of mounting the boundary seal can be improved. In addition, in the boundary seal mounting structure of the present invention, the positions of the vehicle exterior protrusion and the vehicle interior protrusion, and the vehicle exterior locking protrusion and the vehicle interior locking protrusion of the mounting leg portion are shifted in the vehicle longitudinal direction, respectively. Therefore, the mounting leg portion can be inserted into the mounting groove easily by shifting the timing of the vehicle exterior side locking projection and the vehicle interior side locking projection. In addition, the mounting leg portion can be sized to be fitted into the mounting groove to the extent that it can be easily formed since only the protruding portion is increased. On the other hand, since the mounting groove of the garnish includes the first mounting groove having the retaining protrusion and the second mounting groove not having the retaining protrusion, the mold for forming the first mounting groove 35 can be easily demolded unlike the conventional mounting groove. That is, although the first mounting groove has the locking projection and cannot be released from the opening side of the mounting groove, the first mounting groove can be released from the through hole provided in the vehicle interior wall, and the second mounting groove has no projection, so that the first mounting groove can be released from the opening side of the mounting groove. Therefore, the boundary seal mounting structure of the present invention can be easily manufactured.
In the boundary seal mounting structure of the present invention, preferably, the outer side wall of the vehicle is inclined toward the inside of the vehicle as approaching the bottom wall side.
In this way, in the case where one end of the garnish is hooked to an edge of a door panel or the like as in patent document 2, and then the other end side of the garnish is attached by fastening with a fastening member, when the garnish is hooked before the fastening, the inner side surface of the door panel can be brought into contact with the surface of the outer side wall of the garnish. By rotating to the mounting position with the hooking portion as an axis from this state, the garnish can be easily mounted on the door panel, and therefore, the mounting workability can be improved.
In the boundary sealing member mounting structure of the present invention, preferably, the mounting leg portion includes an abutment projection, and the abutment projection is closer to the seal lip side than the vehicle exterior side projection, and the mounting groove abuts against the vehicle exterior side wall.
In this way, the abutting projection abuts against the vehicle exterior side wall in addition to the vehicle exterior side projection and the vehicle interior side projection being caught by the vehicle exterior side locking projection and the vehicle interior side locking projection of the mounting groove, so that the mounting leg portion can be suppressed from being loosened in the mounting groove, and the mounting stability can be improved.
In the boundary sealing member mounting structure of the present invention, preferably, the mounting portion includes a cover lip (coverlip), and the cover lip is disposed closer to the vehicle interior side than the mounting foot portion, and extends and covers the opposite side of the seal lip on the vehicle interior side surface of the vehicle interior side wall.
In this way, the covering lip covers the through hole of the vehicle interior side wall, so that the appearance can be improved.
According to boundary sealing member mounting structure, can make decoration and boundary sealing member easily, and then can carry out the equipment operation of decoration and boundary sealing member easily.

Detailed Description
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. The following description of the preferred embodiments is merely exemplary in nature and is in no way intended to limit the invention, its application, or uses.
A boundary seal attachment structure according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to fig. 1 to 7.
In the automobile shown in fig. 7, garnishes 30a, 30b are provided along the front and rear ends of the window 1c of the rear door 1. The garnishes 30c and 30d are also provided at the front end and the rear end of the window 2c of the front door 2, respectively.
First, an installation structure of the garnish 30a according to an embodiment of the present invention to the rear door 1 of the automobile will be described with reference to fig. 1. Fig. 1 shows an attachment structure for attaching a garnish 30a to a rear door 1 of the automobile shown in fig. 7. As shown in fig. 1, the garnish 30a is attached to the rear door 1 together with the glass run 6 abutting on the window 1 c. Specifically, the hook portion 31 of the front end portion F of the garnish 30a hooks the front end of the flange portion 1d formed by overlapping the inner panel 1a and the outer panel 1b of the rear door 1, and the fastening portion 33 extending toward the inside of the vehicle from the vehicle exterior side plate portion 32 of the garnish 30a exposed to the outside of the vehicle is fastened to the outer panel 1b by the screw 7. Hook portion 31 is formed by a vehicle exterior side plate portion 32, a front end wall 31a, and a vehicle exterior side wall 34a, and front end wall 31a extends from the front end of the vehicle exterior side plate portion toward the vehicle interior side, and vehicle exterior side wall 34a extends from front end wall 31a toward the rear side, and constitutes a mounting groove 34 described later. The glass run 6 is attached to the inner panel 1a and the outer panel 1b of the rear door 1 via the garnish 30a while guiding the glass to move up and down with the front end of the window 1c of the rear door 1 interposed therebetween.
In the present embodiment, the boundary seal 40 is independently installed in the installation groove 34 provided at the front end portion F of the garnish 30 a. Therefore, the demarcation seal 40 may be attached to the garnish 30a after the glass run 6 is attached to the garnish 30a in the state of fig. 1, for example, regardless of the order of assembling the garnish 30a and the glass run 6. The mounting groove 34 is formed by an exterior side wall 34a, an interior side wall 34b, and a bottom wall 34c, which will be described in detail later.
As shown in fig. 2, when the garnish 30a is attached to the rear door 1, the hook portion 31 of the front end portion F of the garnish 30a is first hooked to the front end of the flange portion 1d of the rear door 1, and then the garnish 30a is attached by rotating the rear side thereof toward the vehicle interior side about the front end of the flange portion 1d (see the arrow in fig. 2). Then, as shown in fig. 1, in addition, as described above, the fastening portion 33 of the garnish 30a is fastened to the outer panel 1b by the screw 7 as a fastener, thereby attaching the garnish 30a to the rear door 1. Here, it is preferable that the exterior side wall 34a of the garnish 30a is inclined toward the interior side as it approaches the bottom wall 34c side. As shown in fig. 2, when the hook portion 31 of the garnish 30a is hooked to the front end of the flange portion 1d of the rear door 1, the vehicle interior side surface of the inner panel 1a can be brought into contact with the vehicle exterior side surface of the vehicle exterior side wall 34a of the garnish 30a, and the garnish 30a can be rotatably attached from this state, so that the ease of handling can be improved.
The following describes in detail the mounting structure of the demarcation seal 40 according to the present embodiment. First, with reference to fig. 3 and 4, the details of the structure of the garnish 30a according to the present embodiment in the mounting structure of the boundary seal 40 will be described. Fig. 3(a) is a perspective view of the garnish 30a according to the present embodiment as viewed from the front of the vehicle, approaching the vehicle interior, and fig. 3(b) is a perspective view of the garnish 30a as viewed from the front of the vehicle. Fig. 4(a) shows a cross section taken along line a-a in fig. 3(a), and fig. 4(B) shows a cross section taken along line B-B in fig. 3 (a). As shown in fig. 3 and 4, the garnish 30a includes a vehicle exterior side plate portion 32 exposed to the outside of the vehicle, and the front end thereof is formed with the hook portion 31 as described above. As described above, the hook portion 31 is formed by the vehicle exterior side plate portion 32, the front end wall 31a extending from the front end of the vehicle exterior side plate portion 32 toward the vehicle interior side, and the vehicle exterior side wall 34a extending from the front end wall 31a toward the rear side. Further, a mounting groove 34 for mounting a boundary seal is formed on the vehicle interior side of the hook portion 31 at the front end of the vehicle exterior side plate portion 32. The mounting groove 34 is formed by the vehicle exterior wall 34a, a bottom wall 34c extending from the vehicle exterior wall 34a toward the vehicle interior side, and a vehicle interior wall 34b extending from the bottom wall 34c toward the front side. Therefore, the mounting groove 34 is open to the front side.
The mounting groove 34 of the garnish 30a according to the present embodiment is formed by alternately arranging two types of mounting grooves, i.e., a first mounting groove 35 and a second mounting groove 36. Specifically, the first mounting groove 35 is provided with a vehicle exterior side locking projection 35a projecting toward the vehicle interior side on the vehicle exterior side wall 34a, a vehicle interior side locking projection 35b projecting toward the vehicle exterior side on the vehicle interior side wall 34b, and a through hole 35c on the vehicle interior side wall 34 b. On the other hand, the vehicle exterior locking projection 35a, the vehicle interior locking projection 35b, and the through hole 35c are not provided in the second mounting groove 36. As described above, the first mounting grooves 35 and the second mounting grooves 36 are alternately arranged along the vertical direction (longitudinal direction) of the garnish 30 a.
In the first mounting groove 35, the vehicle exterior side locking projection 35a and the vehicle interior side locking projection 35b do not overlap in the vehicle front-rear direction. That is, the vehicle exterior locking projection 35a and the vehicle interior locking projection 35b are arranged such that: as shown in fig. 4(a), the rear end of the vehicle interior locking projection 35b is positioned forward of the rear end of the vehicle exterior locking projection 35 a. The through hole 35c is formed in the vehicle inner wall 34b from the bottom wall 34c to the rear end of the vehicle inner locking projection 35 b. The through hole 35c can be used for demolding when the mounting groove 34 of the garnish 30a is molded. If the exterior locking projection 35a and the interior locking projection 35b are not provided, as in the second mounting groove 36, the mold for forming the mounting groove 34 can be removed from the opening side (front side), but since the exterior locking projection 35a and the interior locking projection 35b are provided in the first mounting groove 35, the mold cannot be removed in the same manner as in the second mounting groove 36. However, in the present embodiment, in the case where the first mounting groove is formed using, for example, the first mold arranged in the region R1 indicated by the chain line in fig. 4(a) and the second mold arranged in the region R2 on the front side and the outer side of the region R1, the first mold may be demolded from the through hole 35c and the second mold may be demolded from the opening side (front side).
Next, the boundary seal 40 assembled to the garnish 30a according to the present embodiment will be described. As shown in fig. 5, the demarcation seal 40 includes: a mounting portion 41 mounted in the mounting groove 34 of the garnish 30a, and a seal lip 42 extending from the mounting portion 41 toward the opposite side (boundary side) of the mounting groove 34. The boundary seal 40 is assembled to the garnish 30a, and in this state, the seal lip 42 seals the boundary between the garnish 30a and the rear end portion of the front door 2. The mounting portion 41 includes a mounting leg portion 43 projecting toward the opposite side of the seal lip 42 and inserted into the mounting groove 34 of the garnish 30 a.
The mounting leg portion 43 has a vehicle exterior protrusion 43a and a vehicle interior protrusion 43b, and when the mounting leg portion 43 is inserted into the mounting groove 34, the vehicle exterior protrusion 43a and the vehicle interior protrusion 43b are located at positions corresponding to the vehicle exterior locking protrusion 35a and the vehicle interior locking protrusion 35b formed on the mounting groove 34. Therefore, when the mounting leg portion 43 is inserted into the mounting groove 34, the vehicle exterior protrusion 43a and the vehicle interior protrusion 43b engage with the vehicle exterior locking protrusion 35a and the vehicle interior locking protrusion 35b, respectively. Further, the vehicle exterior side projection 43a and the vehicle interior side projection 43b are provided at positions corresponding to the vehicle exterior side locking projection 35a and the vehicle interior side locking projection 35b, and therefore do not overlap each other in the vehicle front-rear direction. That is, as shown in fig. 5, the vehicle exterior side projection 43a and the vehicle interior side projection 43b are arranged such that the front end of the vehicle interior side projection 43b is positioned forward of the front end of the vehicle exterior side projection 43 a. Further, an abutment projection 44 is provided on the vehicle exterior side of the mounting leg portion 43 on a side closer to the seal lip 42 than the vehicle exterior side projection 43a, and the abutment projection 44 is for abutment with a front side (seal lip 42 side) portion of the vehicle exterior side wall 34a of the mounting groove 34. The abutment projection 44 together with the vehicle exterior side projection 43a and the vehicle interior side projection 43b contributes to stable retention of the mounting foot 43 in the mounting groove 34.
The mounting portion 41 further includes a cover lip 45, and the cover lip 45 is provided closer to the vehicle interior side than the mounting leg portion 43 and extends to the opposite side of the seal lip 42. The cover lip 45 is constituted by: the boundary seal 40 can cover the vehicle interior side surface of the vehicle interior side wall 34b when mounted on the garnish 30 a.
The demarcation seal 40 is formed from a non-foam state material. However, the material of the boundary seal 40 is not particularly limited as long as it is a rubber-based elastic material, and EPDM (ethylene-propylene-diene rubber) can be used as the rubber material, for example. As the resin material, for example, TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) can be used. Further, although the boundary seal 40 is exemplified as a non-foamed material in its entire cross-sectional shape, a foamed material may be used as needed for each portion of the cross-sectional shape of the boundary seal 40.
Next, an attaching structure for attaching the boundary seal 40 to the garnish 30a according to the present embodiment will be described. As shown in fig. 6, the demarcation seal 40 is assembled to the garnish 30a by inserting the mounting foot portion 43 into the mounting groove 34 of the garnish 30 a. As described above, the mounting groove 34 has two different shapes of the first mounting groove 35 and the second mounting groove 36, and the engagement forms with the mounting leg 43 are different from each other.
As shown in fig. 6(a), in a state where the mounting leg portion 43 of the boundary seal 40 is inserted into the first mounting groove 35, the vehicle exterior side locking projection 35a and the vehicle interior side locking projection 35b of the first mounting groove 35 respectively lock the vehicle exterior side projection 43a and the vehicle interior side projection 43b of the mounting leg portion 43, and restrict movement of the mounting leg portion 43 in a direction of coming out from the mounting groove 34. Further, since the positions of the vehicle exterior side projection 43a and the vehicle interior side projection 43b of the mounting leg portion 43, and the vehicle exterior side locking projection 35a and the vehicle interior side locking projection 35b are shifted in the vehicle front-rear direction, respectively, the mounting leg portion 43 can be inserted easily by shifting the timing of the vehicle exterior side locking projection 35a and the vehicle interior side locking projection 35b when being inserted into the mounting groove 34. Further, since the mounting leg portion 43 has the abutment projection 44 and the abutment projection 44 abuts against the front side (the seal lip 42 side) of the vehicle exterior side wall 34a of the mounting groove 34, in addition to the engagement of the vehicle exterior side projection 43a and the vehicle interior side projection 43b of the mounting leg portion 43 with the vehicle exterior side locking projection 35a and the vehicle interior side locking projection 35b of the first mounting groove 35, the mounting leg portion 43 can be prevented from loosening in the mounting groove 34 by the abutment of the abutment projection 44 against the front side (the seal lip 42 side) of the vehicle exterior side wall 34 a. This can improve the mounting stability.
However, from the viewpoint of both the stability of the three-point support after mounting, in which the mounting leg portion 43 is prevented from loosening in the mounting groove 34 by the three types of projections, and the operability of the insertion of the vehicle interior projection 43b into the vehicle exterior locking projection 35b at the instant, the abutment projection 44 is preferably provided on the front side (the seal lip 42 side) of the vehicle interior projection 43 b. Further, since the cover lip 45 of the boundary seal 40 is attached so as to cover the vehicle interior surface of the vehicle interior wall 34b, the through hole 35c provided in the vehicle interior wall 34b of the first mounting groove 35 is also covered. Therefore, the through hole 35c can be prevented from being seen from the vehicle interior side, thereby improving the appearance. Wherein, preferably, the cover lip 42 is set to have a length of: the boundary seal 40 is covered to a length of the rear end of the through hole 35c in a state of being mounted in the mounting groove 34 of the garnish 30 a.
As shown in fig. 6(b), since the second mounting groove 36 is not provided with the vehicle exterior side locking projection 35a and the vehicle interior side locking projection 35b like the first mounting groove 35, neither the vehicle exterior side projection 43a nor the vehicle interior side projection 43b of the mounting leg portion 43 is caught. However, in the first mounting groove 35 provided alternately (intermittently) with the second mounting groove 36, the vehicle exterior side protrusion 43a and the vehicle interior side protrusion 43b of the mounting leg portion 43 are caught by the vehicle exterior side catching protrusion 35a and the vehicle interior side catching protrusion 35b, respectively, so that the movement of the boundary seal 40 in the direction of coming out from the mounting groove 34 is restricted. Note that, the vehicle exterior side projection 43a and the vehicle interior side projection 43b of the mounting leg portion 43 may be brought into contact with the vehicle exterior side wall 34a and the vehicle interior side wall 34b, respectively, in the second mounting groove 36, so as to further enhance the effect of preventing the mounting leg portion 43 from coming loose in the mounting groove 34. Further, as long as the boundary seal 40 is not easily removed from the mounting groove 3 or the looseness of the boundary seal 40 in the mounting groove 34 is not increased, a small gap may be provided between the vehicle exterior side projection 43a and the vehicle interior side projection 43b and the inner wall of the mounting groove 34 to improve the insertion workability.
In the present embodiment, the description has been given of the attaching structure of the boundary seal 40 provided on the garnish 30a on the front end side of the rear door 1, but the present invention can be applied to the attaching structure of the boundary seal 40 provided in the garnishes 30b, 30c, 30d and the like in other portions, as a matter of course. Of course, the front-rear direction of the boundary seal attachment structure is reversed from that described in the above embodiment, for example, in the garnish 30b provided on the rear end side of the rear door 1.
As described above, according to the installation structure of the boundary sealing member 40 of the present invention, the boundary sealing member 40 can be directly installed on the installation groove 34 provided at the garnish 30a, and therefore, it is not necessary to consider the assembly order of the garnish 30a, the window frame, and the boundary sealing member 40 on the door panel, so that the installation operability of the boundary sealing member 40 can be improved. In addition, in the mounting structure of the boundary seal 40 according to the present invention, the positions of the vehicle exterior side protrusion 43a and the vehicle interior side protrusion 43b of the mounting leg portion 43 of the boundary seal 40 and the vehicle exterior side locking protrusion 35a and the vehicle interior side locking protrusion 35b on the first mounting groove 35 of the garnish 30a are shifted in the vehicle longitudinal direction, respectively. Therefore, the mounting leg portion 43 can be inserted into the first mounting groove 35 easily by shifting the timing of the vehicle exterior side locking projection 35a and the vehicle interior side locking projection 35 b. In addition, the mounting leg portion 43 may be sized to be fitted into the mounting groove 34, and thus may be easily manufactured since only the protruding portion is increased. On the other hand, since the mounting groove 34 of the garnish 30a includes the first mounting groove 35 having the above-described retaining projection, and the second mounting groove 36 not having the above-described retaining projection, particularly the mold for forming the first mounting groove 35 can be easily demolded, unlike the above-described conventional mounting groove. Therefore, the boundary seal mounting structure of the present invention can be easily manufactured.
