Referring to fig. 2, 3 and 4, the ironing device of the present invention is suitable for heating water into steam to iron an object to be ironed. The article to be ironed is clothes or other articles with wrinkles capable of being removed by heating and pressurizing, such as towels, handkerchiefs or paper money.
The first embodiment comprises a casing 2, a heating plate 3 assembled at the bottom of the casing 2 and capable of heating water into steam, a cover plate 4 covering the heating plate 3, and a water filling unit 5 disposed in the casing 2.
The housing 2 can have different shapes according to different product requirements. In the first embodiment the housing 2 is shaped as a conventional iron as shown in fig. 2, but in other embodiments of the invention can also be shaped as a garment steamer or other type of ironing device. Since the design technique of the housing 2 is common knowledge and is not the focus of the present invention, the description thereof will be omitted.
The heating plate 3 includes a base wall 31 extending in an opposite direction D1 and an extending direction D2 opposite to each other, and a surrounding wall 32 extending upward from the base wall 31. In the first embodiment, the opposite direction D1 is forward, and the extending direction D2 is backward.
The base wall 31 is substantially shaped like a water drop with a narrow front and a wide rear, and includes a first disk surface 33 facing upward and the water injection unit 5, and a second disk surface 34 opposite to the first disk surface 33 and facing downward.
The first plate surface 33 is surrounded by the surrounding wall 32, and defines a heating space 35 extending along the front and rear longitudinal directions of the cover plate 4 and the surrounding wall 32 along the opposite direction D1 and the extending direction D2. The first disk surface 33 includes a first surface 36 extending forward along the opposite direction D1, and a second surface 37 extending backward along the extending direction D2 and having an extending length about five times that of the first surface 36.
Referring to fig. 3, 4 and 5, the first surface portion 36 includes a first inclined surface segment 361 extending in the opposite direction D1 and inclined downward toward the second disk surface 34, and a surrounding surface segment 362 surrounding the first inclined surface segment 361. The first inclined surface segment 361 is substantially in the shape of an inclined rectangle and is formed with a plurality of substantially upwardly protruding quadrangular pyramids 363. The surrounding surface section 362 and the first inclined surface section cooperate to define a first groove 364.
The area of the first disk surface 33 is about 35 times the area of the first recess 364. In other embodiments of the present invention, the area of the first plate surface 33 can be 30 times to 50 times of the area of the first groove 364.
Referring to fig. 3, 4 and 6, the second surface portion 37 extends from the first surface portion 36 to the second disk surface 34 in the extending direction D2 in a downward inclined manner, extends to the extreme end of the first disk surface 33 in the extending direction D2, and includes a second inclined surface section 371 extending in the extending direction D2 in the downward inclined manner toward the second disk surface 34, and a groove surface section 372 extending from the second inclined surface section 371 in the extending direction D2 and connected between the second inclined surface section 371 and the surrounding wall 32.
The second inclined surface section 371 and the second plate surface 34 define an inclined angle a1 (see fig. 2) of about 3 degrees, and a plurality of protrusions 373 protruding upward in a direction opposite to the second plate surface 34 and divided into arrays are formed. The protrusions 373 of each group are spaced apart from each other and divided into two rows, each row of the protrusions 373 is engaged with the corresponding other row of the protrusions 373 to form a V shape with an opening facing the extending direction D2, and the protrusions 373 of the other row are engaged with each other to define an included angle a2 of 120 degrees. Each of the projections 373 has a substantially flat parallelepiped shape.
In other embodiments of the present invention, the inclination angle a1 (see fig. 2) can be 1 degree to 30 degrees, the included angle a2 can be 90 degrees to 150 degrees, and the protrusion 373 can have other three-dimensional shapes, such as a triangular pyramid and a quadrangular frustum.
The groove surface section 372 curves downwardly toward the second disk surface 34 to define a second groove 374 which is recessed toward the second disk surface 34 and connected between the second inclined surface section 371 and the surrounding wall 32.
Referring to fig. 2, 3 and 7, the cover plate 4 is formed with a water injection port 41 vertically corresponding to the first recess 364 and vertically penetrating therethrough. The water injection unit 5 includes a water injection pipe 51 inserted into the water injection port 41 to inject water into the first recess 364. In other embodiments of the present invention, the water injection unit 5 can further comprise a water pump connected to the water injection pipe 51 to assist the water injection.
Referring to fig. 2 and 5 to 7, in the first embodiment, when water is injected into the first groove 364 formed by the first surface 36 through the water injection pipe 51 of the water injection unit 5, since the area of the first groove 364 is only 1/35 of the area of the first plate surface 33, only a small amount of water is retained in the first groove 364, and the rest of water flows substantially along the extending direction D2 on the second inclined surface section 371 as shown in fig. 7. The portion of heating plate 3 defining first recess 364 adjacent a heating coil 6 where the temperature of heating plate 3 is highest, so that the first face 36 forming first recess 364 advantageously facilitates a small portion of water to be heated quickly in a minimum amount of time, thereby enabling rapid steam generation.
During the flowing process, most of the water is stopped by the protrusion 373 and continuously flows around the protrusion 373 to bypass the protrusion 373. That is, compared to the conventional design, the first embodiment has a longer moving path and a longer residence time of the water on the second inclined surface section 371, so that the water can be heated to steam more completely. The second groove 374 can generate a flooding effect even if the amount of injected water is unexpectedly increased so that the water is not completely converted into steam during the flow of the second inclined surface section 371. That is, the second groove 374 allows excess water to temporarily stay therein to facilitate the water to be continuously heated by the heating plate 3 and converted into steam. Therefore, the second groove 374 is designed to avoid the problem of excessive water not being converted into vapor and flowing out and wetting the clothes.
The V-shaped arrangement of the protrusions 373 of each group and the design of the parallelepiped shape can generate good flow guiding and flow dividing effects. The advantage of the protrusions 373 being spaced apart from each other and not connected to be elongated is that: is not beneficial to the accumulation of scale, and is beneficial to the water to take away the scale or impurities from the gap between the protrusions 373 along the extending direction D2 to be discharged in the cleaning mode of using the continuous flowing of water to clean the second inclined surface section 371, so the first embodiment has a good self-cleaning effect and can maintain the heating efficiency of the heating plate 3. Therefore, compared with the prior art, the first embodiment also has the advantages of energy saving, good heating effect even after long-term use and the like. In addition, the inclined design of the second inclined surface section 371 can also reduce the thickness of the heating plate 3, which is beneficial to reducing the material consumption of the product and reducing the production cost, and is quite environment-friendly and economical.
The second panel 37 extends along the extending direction D2 to the extreme end of the second plate surface 34, that is, the second panel 37 extends along the extending direction D2 until connecting to the surrounding wall 32, so as to maximize the heating space 35, which is beneficial for the water to be completely heated into steam.
Referring to fig. 8, a second embodiment of the present invention is similar to the first embodiment, except that the first inclined surface section 361, the surrounding surface section 362, the quadrangular pyramid 363 and the first groove 364 (see fig. 5) are omitted from the first surface 36 of the first disk surface 33, the first surface 36 and the second surface 37 are connected together and extend obliquely at the same inclination angle, so that the first disk surface 33 extends obliquely from the extreme end of the surrounding wall 32 in the opposite direction to the extreme end of the surrounding wall 32 in the extending direction toward the second disk surface 34. The first face portion 36 is also formed with the protrusion 373 that is shaped like a V. Since the second embodiment is different from the first embodiment only in that the structure defining the first recess 364 (see fig. 5) is omitted, the second embodiment also has much the same effect as the first embodiment.
To sum up, the first disk surface 33 of the ironing device of the present invention extends obliquely to the end of the heating space 35 along the extending direction D2 toward the second disk surface 34, which helps water to flow and enables the scale or impurities to move and be discharged along the extending direction D2, and the heating space 35 is maximized, which is beneficial to the water being completely heated into steam.
The above description is only an embodiment of the present invention, and the scope of the claims of the present invention should not be limited thereto, and the equivalent modifications made according to the claims and the description of the present invention should be covered by the scope of the claims of the present invention.
