发明领域
本发明涉及一种通过网络在能够读取数据载体的记录和/或再现装置和拥有该数据载体的附加数据的远程单元之间进行通信的方法。
本发明特别涉及在DVD放像机和网站之间通过互联网进行的数据通信。
发明背景
由于目前DVD视频标准规范繁多，DVD论坛已经成立了一个工作组AH1-12制定网络连接的DVD的标准。根据新的标准规范出版的DVD影碟将具有到出版商网站的链接功能，该网站上包含与该特定DVD影碟直接相关的附加数据。例如新的导航菜单，装入了该DVD影碟的DVD电视放像机可以下载该菜单并用它代替原版菜单。
但是在网站上发布的内容不应该是任何人都能够访问和下载的。只有合法DVD影碟的持有者在播放该光盘的时候能够访问并使用该内容。
发明概述
本发明的目的是提供一种能够鉴别插入记录和/或重放装置中的数据载体，以只向通过鉴别的数据载体发送附加数据的通信方法。
根据本发明的通信方法，其特征在于该方法包括以下步骤：
从插入该记录和/或重现装置的数据载体上提取数据载体属性；
将所述属性发送到该远程单元；以及
在向该记录和/或重现装置发送附加数据之前，通过对该属性和供应商合法生产的相应数据载体的属性进行比较，鉴别该数据载体。
这种通信方法能够确定该数据载体(如DVD影碟)是否合法拷贝，然后仅向装入了合法拷贝的记录和/或再现装置发送附加数据。
在第一实施例中，数据载体属性写在该数据载体的控制数据区。
因而，这些属性不易被记录装置修改并能够被绝大部分再现装置读取。
在另一实施例中，该通信方法包括一个这样的步骤：如果远程单元收到的来自装入了无法识别的数据载体的记录和/或再现装置的请求数大于一个预定阈值时，将该记录和/或再现装置列入黑名单。
因而，如果记录和/或再现装置每次都使用非法数据载体试图连接远程单元若干次后，该通信方法能够拒绝该记录和/或再现装置的再次请求。

发明的详细描述
本发明涉及一种在彼此通过网络连接的记录和/或再现装置与远程单元之间交换数据的方法。在下面的描述中，记录和/或再现装置指DVD电视放像机，远程单元指网站，网络指互联网。
然而，很明显对于本领域技术人员来说，本发明更一般的涉及客户机/服务器模式。在客户机端，例如，记录和/或再现装置可以是连接到互联网并内部建立协议栈的家庭DVD电视放像机或个人电脑DVD放像机，也可以是GPRS(General Packet Radio Service：通用分组无线业务)或装有SFFO(Small Format Factor Optical)光盘的第三代移动电话。在该服务器端，远程单元是其上运行网络相关业务(services)或代理权(proxies)的计算机系统。连接两端的网络可以是任意一种具有TCP/IP协议(Transmission Control Protocol/InternetProtocol)的网络，例如IPv4或IPv6协议。
图1是表示本发明通信系统的方框图。该通信系统包括能够读取数据载体(22)的DVD放像机(20)和拥有可附加到数据载体(22)的附加信息的网站(10)。
在实施例中，该数据载体是DVD影碟，但是所属领域的技术人员显然明白：本发明并不仅局限于DVD影碟。本发明的范围可以是包括任何包括只读、可刻录及可重写光盘在内的具有任何物理光盘格式的媒体(例如CD、DVD、蓝光光盘等)。本发明普遍适用于那些具有不同应用格式(例如视频、音频、游戏等格式)的光盘。
出版者有责任根据从光盘供应商的进货来管理网站。该出版者和供应者可以为同一人或不同人。DVD放像机(20)与网站(10)通过互联网(30)进行通信。
DVD影碟含有指向出版商网站的链接。当这种光盘插入DVD放像机中，客户可以将本地DVD视频与附加数据(11)混合，该附加数据(11)是与这种特定DVD影碟直接相关的互联网增强内容。该互联网增强内容，例如是新版本的DVD菜单、图片、与DVD视频同步的音频或字幕。这些互联网增强内容由DVD制造商开发。该互联网增强内容也叫做增强导航(ENAV)内容。

如图2所示，上述属性位于光盘导引区(LIA)的控制数据区(CDZ)。控制数据区首先包括例如Book type(BT)、光盘尺寸(DS)、光盘结构(DST)(也就是说层数、层型、轨道路径)、BCA描述符(BCAD)这样的物理格式信息(PFI)。控制数据区其次还包括例如版权类型和区域管理信息这样的内容供应商信息。
记录装置不能轻易拷贝上述的属性，这些信息由记录系统自动产生，。而且，所有的再现装置都可以读取该属性。
在最佳实施例中，网站(10)包括从插入到录放装置的DVD影碟(22)上获得某些上述的光盘属性(23)的部件。网站还包括通过将所述属性(23)和相应由供应商合法生产DVD影碟的属性进行比较，以鉴别该DVD影碟(22)的部件。

当重放开始时，放像机读取该链接并连接到该网站。放像机下载并判读网页或加载并判读本地的默认ENAV内容。
运行位于该网页内部的、基于XHTML、SMIL或ECMAScript脚本语言的脚本，通过调入一些低阶应用程序界面(APIs)读取所需的光盘属性。由ECMAScript脚本定义的APIs例如有：
获得光盘的层信息，其回复为SL或DL，
获得光盘的book type，其回复为RO、RW或R，另一种选择是放像机和网站之间的传输协议要求放像机在向网站发出的请求中包含预定的信息。在这种情况下，放像机读取这部分信息并将该信息包含在发送到网站的请求中。这时不需要在光盘中包含脚本，也不需要规定放像机必须支持的APIs。
提取了所需的光碟属性后，所述属性被发送到出版商的网站以一种可靠的方式进行鉴别。例如，含有如下光盘属性的统一资源定位器(URL)被生成：https：//www.newline.com/WebDVD/Authenticaion？movietitle＝RushHour？booktype＝SL&discsize＝12&regioncode＝6。
传输协议基于SSL(Secure Socket Layer：安全的套接口层)或HTTPS(Hyper Text Transfer protocol Secure：安全的超文本传输协议)进行安全的事务处理。
如果鉴别成功，则授予许可，例如通过产生一个产生对话的安全识别ID，电视放像机可以在该对话期内进一步访问网站上的ENAV内容。但是如果属性不正确，网站拒绝连接，电视放像机无法下载ENAV内容。
因而，网站能够通过光盘的属性确定光盘是否为有效的原版。例如，如果光盘供应商生产了一个的特定光盘，具有以下属性：RO，12cm，DL，PTP，BCA，区域码2(欧洲/日本)，经CSS加密，那么具有RW，8cm，SL，OTP，无BCA，无CSS加密，区域码6等属性的光盘就是非法光盘，即使它具有和原版光盘相同的视频内容。必须注意，为了能使本发明正常运作，出版商必须管理一个包含光盘供应商生产的光盘的所有属性的数据库。
此外，如果网站接收了多次来自使用非法光盘的放像机的请求，例如当5次以后，网站能够将该放像机列入黑名单并拒绝来自该放像机的再次请求。
上面的描述涉及使用光盘属性检查光盘的非法拷贝。但是所述属性也可以应用于其他方面。在本发明的一个具体实施例中，网站能够根据光盘的属性发送不同类型的ENAV内容。
例如，本发明的网站能够识别光盘是否是RO、R或RW光盘。如果该光盘是合法的R/RW光盘，网站则允许装入这张光盘的记录装置下载并在这张光盘存储数据。由于网络容量一般不足以支持DVD性质的视频流，视频数据可以先下载到R/RW光盘，然后再通过光盘观看。
作为另一例，本发明的网站能够识别光盘的区域码。该网站可以含有预定电影的广告，广告依赖于光盘的区域码。网站于是就能够发送当前在给定区域上映的电影的广告。
后续的权利要求中的任何附图标记均不应当解释为对权利要求的限定。显然，动词“包含(comprise)”及其词型变化的使用不排除存在权利要求以外的其它步骤和要素的出现。要素或步骤前的数量词“一个(a或an)”并不排除存在多个这样的要素或步骤的出现。

1.一种通过网络在能够读取数据载体(22)的记录和/或重现装置(20)和含有所述数据载体(22)的附加数据(11)的远程单元(10)之间进行的通信方法，包括以下步骤：
从插入所述记录和/或重现装置(20)的数据载体(22)中提取数据载体属性(23)；
将所述属性(23)发送到所述远程单元(10)；以及
在向所述记录和/或重现装置(20)发送所述附加数据(11)之前，通过将所述属性(23)与供应商合法生产的相应数据载体的属性进行比较，鉴定所述数据载体(22)。
2.如权利要求1所述的通信方法，其中：所述数据载体属性(23)写入在所述数据载体(22)的控制数据区。
3.如权利要求1所述的通信方法，还包括如下步骤：在远程单元(10)从装有未经鉴定的数据载体的记录和/或重现装置(20)收到次数大于预定阈值的多次请求时，将该记录和/或重现装置(20)列入黑名单。
4.如权利要求1所述的通信方法，其中：所述远程单元(10)能够按照所述数据载体(22)的属性(23)发送不同类型的附加数据(11)。
5.一种包括能够读取数据载体(22)的记录和/或重现装置(20)和含有所述数据载体(22)的附加数据(11)的远程单元(10)的通信系统，所述装置(20)和所述单元(10)通过网络(30)进行通信，其中，所述远程单元(10)能够从插入所述记录和/或重现装置(20)的所述数据载体(22)中获得数据载体属性(23)，并在向所述记录和/或重现装置(20)发送附加数据(11)前，通过将所述属性(23)与供应商合法生产的相应数据载体的属性进行比较，鉴定所述数据载体(22)。
6.一种与能够读取数据载体(22)的记录和/或重现装置(20)进行通信的远程单元(10)，所述远程单元(10)包含：所述数据载体(22)的附加数据(11)；从插入所述记录和/或重现装置(20)的数据载体(22)上获得数据载体属性(23)的部件；以及在向所述记录和/或重现装置(20)发送所述附加数据(11)之前，通过将所述属性(23)和供应商合法生产的相应数据载体的属性进行比较，鉴定所述数据载体(22)的部件。
7.一种能够读取数据载体(22)并与含有所述数据载体(22)的附加数据(11)的远程单元(10)进行通信的记录和/或重现装置(20)，该装置包括从插入所述记录和/或重现装置(20)的数据载体(22)中提取数据载体属性(23)的部件和将所述属性(23)发送到所述远程单元(10)的部件。
8.一种包括程序指令的计算机程序，当该程序由处理器执行时，所述计算机程序实现通过网络(30)在能够读取数据载体(22)的记录和/或重现装置(20)和含有所述数据载体(11)的附加数据的远程单元(10)之间进行的通信方法，所述通信方法包括以下步骤：
从插入所述记录和/或重现装置(20)的数据载体(22)提取数据载体属性(23)；
将所述属性(23)发送到所述远程单元(10)。
9.一种包括程序指令的计算机程序，当该程序由处理器执行时，所述计算机程序实现通过网络(30)在能够读取数据载体(22)的记录和/或重现装置(20)和含有所述数据载体(11)的附加数据的远程单元(10)之间进行的通信方法，所述通信方法包括以下步骤：
从插入所述记录和/或重现装置(20)的数据载体(22)提取数据载体属性(23)；
在向所述记录和/或重现装置(20)发送所述附加数据(11)之前，通过将所述属性(23)和供应商合法生产的相应数据载体的属性进行比较，鉴定所述数据载体(22)。
