Abstract
本发明公开了能改善视角和提高亮度的双路显示装置。该双路显示装置包括:光发射灯;光导片,其被安装在光发射灯的一侧,以将从光发射灯发射来的光引导到光导片的上、下表面;漫射片,其被安装在光导片的上、下表面上,以均匀地漫射从光导片输出的光;一对棱镜片,该棱镜片位于每一漫射片上,使从漫射片输出的光偏振;和内、外液晶显示屏,其被设置在安装于光导片的上、下表面的棱镜片上,以通过使用偏振光显示预定图像。
Description
技术领域
本发明涉及一种双路显示装置,更具体地说,本发明涉及一种能改善视角和提高亮度的双路显示装置。
背景技术
移动通讯装置是一种能让使用者随时随地与他人通讯的用具。这样的移动通讯装置配备有各种电气/电子部件并包括一个键盘,该键盘部分能让使用者打开/关闭移动通讯装置或输入电话号码以达到与他人通讯的目的。当使用者操作键盘部分,即,当使用者按键盘部分时,电话号码和移动通讯装置的操作状态会显示在移动通讯装置的显示部分。电池可拆卸地联接在移动通讯装置的后部,以给移动通讯装置的电气/电子部分供能。
通常,显示部分包括液晶显示屏(LCD)。由于液晶显示屏(LCD)本身不发光,因此必须在移动通讯装置里设置背光单元。这样一个背光单元包括:光导片;联接在光导片下表面的反射片;联接在光导片上表面的漫射片;和光发射灯,比如荧光灯或发光二极管(LED)灯,联接在光导片的至少一侧部。
在传统的双折叠型(dual-folder)移动通讯装置中,液晶显示屏和背光单元分别设置在内显示部分和外显示部分中。但如果在每一个内和外部分中都设置液晶显示屏和背光单元,就会增加光导片的厚度,因此会难于制作小尺寸的移动通讯装置。另外,如果必须在移动通讯装置里安装两个背光单元和两个液晶显示屏,移动通讯装置的制造工艺会变得复杂。
第2001-05888号韩国专利申请公开了一种背光单元和具有该背光单元的双折叠型显示装置。在该显示装置中,背光单元通过使用一个发光二极管同时操作内、外液晶显示屏,从而使得能通过一简单的制造工艺得到小尺寸的移动通讯装置。
第2001-05888号韩国专利申请公开的背光单元显示在图1和2中。如图1和2所示,该背光单元包括:光导片23,用于引导从发光二极管光源发射来的光;支架24,该支架与上壳21的内部连接在一起并光导片23的外围部分;柔性印刷电路板(PCB)25,被放置在支架24的上部;光发射部分26,该部分包括一个设置在柔性印刷电路板25的一侧以双向地发射光的发光二极管光源262。内、外液晶显示屏27和28被安装在围绕背光单元的彼此相对的位置上,以便通过接受来自于光发射部分26的光而显示图像。通常,外液晶显示屏28的尺寸小于内液晶显示屏27的尺寸。
在图1和2中,标号14、15、22、212和232分别表示电池组、铰链轴、下壳、保护片和漫射膜。
但是,上述具有背光单元的双折叠型移动通讯装置不能个别地调整发射到内、外液晶显示屏的光。此外,由于上述双折叠型移动通讯装置双向地引导来自于液晶显示屏的光,因而同来自于普通光源的光相比较,该光的亮度相对低一些,因此就限制了提高光的亮度。
为解决上述问题,第2003-02809号韩国专利申请公开了一种面光源(背光单元)和具有该面光源的LCD组件。
第2003-02809号韩国专利申请公开的面光源和和LCD组件显示在图3中。参见图3,光发射灯31,比如荧光灯或LED灯,安装在光导片30的一侧。一个光调节单元(未示出)安装在光导片30的上和下表面的至少一个上,以变化发射到光导片30的上和下表面光量。此外,一个光放大膜32安装在光导片30的上和下表面的至少一个上。这样,从光发射灯31发射来的光可借助于光放大膜31发生共振,因此光的亮度可增加。
虽然未显示出来,但光调节单元有一个被腐蚀的表面,使得通过光调节单元传到光导片30的上表面的光的传送不同于直接传到光导片30的下表面的光的传送。特别地,光调节单元能与光放大膜32一体地形成。如图4所示,光放大膜32包括共振层41和漫射膜,通过在它们之间施加粘合剂43,漫射膜与共振层41的上、下表面相互联接。
另外,漫射片安装在包括光放大膜32的光导片30的上、下表面上,并且内、外液晶显示屏33和34分别安装在漫射片上。
根据上述的面光源和具有该光源的液晶显示屏组件,借助于包括光调节单元的光放大膜,能使发射到内液晶显示的光量不同于发射到外液晶显示屏的光量。此外,借助于包括光调节单元的光放大膜,光被放大,从而光的亮度增加。
然而,因为对于利用光放大膜放大光到期望的水平有一个限制,所以上述的面光源和具有该光源的液晶显示屏组件存在问题。特别地,由于圆偏振光被传送到内、外液晶显示屏,因此难于改善液晶显示屏组件的视角。
发明内容
因此,本发明的目的是解决发生在现有技术中的上述问题,并提供一种能改善视角和提高亮度的双路显示装置。
为了实现上述目的,本发明提供了一种双路显示装置,其包括:光发射灯;光导片,其被安装在光发射灯的一侧,以引导从光发射灯发射来的光到该光导片的上、下表面;漫射片,其被安装在光导片的上、下表面,以均匀地漫射由光导片输出的光;一对棱镜片,其形成在每一漫射片上,以使由漫射片输出的光偏振;和内、外LCD,其被设置在安装于光导片的上、下表面的棱镜片上,以利用偏振光显示预定的图像。
根据本发明的优选实施例,光发射灯包括:一个LED灯、一个有90°光轴的棱镜片和一个有0°光轴的棱镜片。
根据本发明的优选实施例,一条黑带被插在设置于所述光导片的上、下表面的所述棱镜片和所述内、外LCD之间。
根据本发明的优选实施例,一个光放大膜在设置于所述光导片的上、下表面的每一棱镜片上、下表面的至少一个上对准。

具体实施方式
下面将参照附图描述本发明。
图5是基于本发明一实施例的双路显示装置的分解的剖视图。如图5所示,本发明的双路显示装置包括一个安装在光导片50一侧的用作光源的LED灯51,由该LED发射的光通过光导片50向上和向下传送。漫射片52分别被放置在光导片50的上、下表面,以均匀地漫射由光导片50输出的光。一对棱镜片53a和53b形成在每一漫射片52上,以极化由漫射片52输出的光。内、外LCD 55a和55b安装在棱镜片53b上,在LCD和棱镜片之间放置了黑带54。
在此,棱镜片53a和53b之一有90°光轴,而另一个有0°光轴。由于这样的棱镜片53a和53b分别在光导片50和内、外LCD 55a和55b之间对齐,因此通过光导片50传送到内、外液晶显示55a和55b的光的输出角度可以得到调整,从而线偏振光而不是圆偏振光被传送到内、外LCD 55a和55b。这样,基于本发明该实施例的双路显示装置能改善视角。
另外,由于是线偏振光而不是圆偏振光被传送到内、外LCD 55a和55b,因而经过内、外LCD 55a和55b的光量可增加,故可能不使用另外的光放大元件也可提高光的亮度。
如上所述,图3和4示出的传统的面光源和采用该面光源的液晶显示屏组件安装有光放大元件,故可能增加液晶显示组件的制造成本。然而,基于本发明的双路显示装置,能通过制作采用传统棱镜片的TFT-LCD(Thin-FilmTransistor-Liquid Crystal Display,薄膜晶体管液晶显示屏)来改善视角和提高光的高度,从而减少双路显示装置的制造成本。
图6是基于本发明另一实施例的双路显示装置的分解的剖视图。
通过光导片50进入外LCD 55b的入射光线的数量,等于通过光导片50进入内LCD 55a的入射光线的数量。因此,如果内LCD 55a的尺寸大于外LCD 55b的尺寸,在内LCD 55a上显示的图像的质量可能会低于外LCD 55b上显示的图像的质量。
为解决上述问题,一个光放大膜60被安装在内、外LCD 55a和55b的棱镜片53b上。特别地,光放大膜60只被安装在内LCD 55a的棱镜片53b上。更好地,光放大膜60采用3M公司提供的被称为“VIKUTIBEF”的双亮度增加膜。
当光放大膜60被另外安装在内、外LCD 55a和55b的棱镜片上时,基于本发明的双路显示装置能提高亮度。
如上所述,根据本发明,圆偏振光通过一对安装在光导片上、下表面的棱镜片,被发射到内、外LCD上,因此本发明的双路显示装置可改善视角。另外,由于不使用另外的光放大元件就能增加光量,本发明的双路显示装置能提高光的亮度。
尽管出于解释的目的描述了本发明的优选实施例,但本领域技术人员应该理解,在不脱离所附权利要求限定的本发明的精神和范围的情况下,可进行各种修改、增补和替换。
Claims (5)
1、一种双路显示装置,包括:
一光发射灯;
一光导片,该光导片安装在所述光发射灯的一侧,以将从所述光发射灯发射来的光引导到所述光导片的上、下表面;
一漫射片,该漫射片安装在所述光导片的上、下表面上,以均匀地漫射从所述光导片输出的光;
一对棱镜片,该棱镜片形成在每一漫射片上,以使从所述漫射片输出的光偏振;和
内、外LCD,其被设置在安装于所述光导片的上、下表面的所述棱镜片上,以通过使用偏振光显示预定图像。
2、根据权利要求1所述的双路显示装置,其特征在于:所述光发射灯包括一LED灯。
3、根据权利要求1所述的双路显示装置,其特征在于:所述棱镜片之一有一90°光轴,而所述棱镜片的另一个有一0°光轴。
4、根据权利要求1所述的双路显示装置,其中进一步包括:一黑带,该黑带被插在设置于所述光导片的上、下表面的所述棱镜片和所述内、外LCD之间。
5、根据权利要求1所述的双路显示装置,其中进一步包括:一光放大膜,其在设置于所述光导片的上、下表面的每一棱镜片上、下表面的至少一个上对准。
