Method for packaging and shipping of plants or bulbs (2), wherein the bulbs or plants are positioned in a bottom part (4) and covered by a cover part (6), the cover part pressing the bulbs or plants at least partly into the bottom part, wherein the bottom part is designed to allow roots to grow into or through said bottom part and the cover part is designed to allow a stem or plant to grow into or through said cover part, means (7) being provided to hold the cover part on the bottom part.
