本发明总体涉及移动电话系统,尤其是涉及到在多个消息中心之间选择路由发送短消息的方法和装置。
                      发明背景
IS-41(ANSE-41)移动网络的短消息业务在以版本C(也称为IS-41-C)开始的ANSI/EIA/TIA标准中被加以定义,(参看ANSI/EIA/TIA标准41-D,《蜂窝无线电信系统间操作》,电子工业协会,1997)(“IS-41D规范”)。本文献定义了称为移动中心(MCs)的网络实体,它负责从短消息实体(SMEs)接收短消息、对其进行存储、并将其再转发到短消息实体(SMEs)。多数情况下,这些实体对应于移动手机(MSs),并被正式定义为基于MS的短消息实体SMEs。某些情况下,这些SMEs可基于移动中心或其它网络节点,并被称为固定SMEs。

通常,短消息被递送到MC并加以存储。该MC将试图在某一时期内递送该消息。由于目的地可能暂时无法接通(例如,用户的手机不在服务区),该MC将尝试多次递送。上述标准同样允许一个MC将消息转发至另一个MC,后者将能真正实现消息的递送。用于标准MC交互工作的信令处理过程在IS-41D规范的第6部分做了详细说明。A4.46.6 MC接收和SMS递送点到点请求@部分描述了MC如何以伪代码方式处理短消息。以下三项操作虽然已提到但尚未做出规定:
1)如何确定是否最初的发信地址是属于本地MC10的一个SME(步骤1-16-1);
2)如何确定是否目的地地址是一个属于此MC10的一个SME(步骤1-17-1);
3)如何确定在哪里转发消息(步骤1-16-1-3,参考步骤4.46.7)。
因此,标准([IS41D])没有规定如何确定本地MC或如何选择路由(即如何确定PC/SSN地址)从一个MC向另一个MC发送短消息。在名为“使用IS-41的移动电信网络”(McGraw-Hill,1997)一书中,Michael D.Gallagher和Randall A.Snyder讨论了在两个MC之间转发短消息的路由选择方法。他们的建议是使用固定的MIN-至-MC表(类似下面描述的内部MC路由表)或MIN-至-MC全局标题转换(GTT)。虽然Gallagher和Snyder描述了如何选择路由,但他们没有提供如何确定本地MC的解决方案。
                        发明概述
本发明的一种具体实施方案提供了用于判定是否已知用户属于本地MC的灵活方法。用户数据库简要档案和缺省用户简要档案的结合可以允许客户实现诸如白名单(仅明确规定的用户接收业务)、黑名单(除数据库中明确禁止之外的全部接收业务),或某种组合的方案。
此外,本发明的一种具体实施方案提供了允许将指向代码(PointCode)和全局标题转换相组合的灵活路由选择机制。甚至,当转发失败时(例如目的地的本地MC不可知或一直无法接通),本发明允许客户尝试直接递送消息。

                       发明详述
在以下对优选实施方案的详述中,可参考作为方案一部分的附图,其中附图显示了本发明可付诸实现的特定实施方案。在不脱离本发明范畴的前提下,可以使用其它实施方案或进行结构上的改变。
参考图1,它说明了与包含SS7链接11的SS7网络12互连的多个消息中心10a-10d,如图所示,各个消息中心10通过SS7网络在其相互之间传送短消息。在本发明的例选实施方案中,短消息依照上述的IS-41(ANSI-41)移动网络短消息业务进行传输和递送。虽然这里描述的是SS7网络形式,其它传输体系也可用于传输短消息。
参考图2,它根据本明的一个例选实施方案,以简化形式说明了短消息处理系统13。如图,处理系统13从SS7链路11或通过端口15从其它消息源接收短消息,此消息可能在消息中心10中产生,也可能不在其中产生。系统13包括硬件平台14a和软件组件14b。系统13进一步包括用户数据库14c,用于保存由消息中心10提供服务的用户的名单以及依据常规IS-41操作的路由表14d。硬件平台14a最好是工作站计算机,它能被配置成能够提供到SS7链路11和其它外部设备及网络的物理层连接。软件组件14b最好包括一个UNIX类型或等效的多任务操作系统以及其它软件,以用于实现消息处理的控制功能(例如,如图3a和3b的流程图所示)。
参考图3A和3B,它描述了本发明的消息处理方法和软件的实施方案。在处理系统13(20a)接收短消息。检查该消息是否合格(20b);如果不合格,该消息将被拒绝或另外进行处理(20e)。检查消息的合格性对于本发明并非必要,但当需要判定是否源地址(源程序或手机的电话号码)与本地用户数据库14c的特定简要档案匹配时,应进行这种检查,并利用该简要档案来判定该消息是应该被接受用于处理还是被拒绝。如果用户数据库14c不匹配,则缺省用户简要档案将被用来判定该消息是应该被接受用于处理或还是被拒绝。
如果消息被接受以用于处理,将判定是否目的地地址属于本地的MC10。尤其,如果目的地地址(目的地程序或手机的电话号码)与本地用户数据库14c(20c)的特定简要档案相匹配,此简要档案将确定该消息是被直接递送(依据标准[IS41D]规程)或还是被拒绝(20d)。
否则,该消息将被转发到目的地的本地MC10。如果目的地的本地MC10的指向代码(PC)/子系统编码(SSN)是在MC路由表(14d)(20f)中,则可使用PC/SSN(20g)将短消息转发到目的地MC10。
否则,尝试使用全局标题转换(GTT)由MC10选择路由(20I),如果成功,通过使用目的地地址和MIN-至-MC转换将该消息转发到目的地的本地MC10。
或者,可以通过仅配置其中一种上述的路由选择过程而实现本发明,(也就是说,通过指向代码或GTT来选择路由);或者首先使用一种路由选择技术进行递送,如果第一种技术没有成功,则使用另一种。
如果有某事件导致转发步骤失败(20h)(例如目的地的本地MC不可知或始终无法接通),则缺省用户简要档案会判定该消息是要进行直接递送或还是加以拒绝(20j)。
替代方案
本发明并不局限于这里描述的例选实施方案。本发明不局限于任何类型或形式的软件,也不限于任何特定类型的硬件或操作系统平台、客户机-服务器或网络体系。并且,本发明的消息递送系统还可在不脱离本发明范畴的前提下,用其他替代方式实现。进一步说,本发明的软件功能可全部或部分通过硬件实现,反之亦可。
结论
因此,本发明提供了用于判断是否已知用户属于本地的MC的灵活方法。用户数据库简要档案和缺省用户简要档案的组合允许客户实现诸如白名单(仅明确规定的用户接收的业务)、黑名单(除数据库中明确禁止之外的全部接收业务),或某种组合的方案。此外,本发明提供了一种灵活的路由选择字型机制,它允许指向代码路由选择、GTT路由选择、以及二者的组合。而且,如果转发失败,本发明还允许客户尝试直接递送消息。

Claims (6)

1.一种在SS7网络中处理短消息的方法,包括:
在本地消息中心计算机系统中接收短消息;
检查计算机系统中的消息中心用户数据库以便确定如果该消息定址于此消息中心,则该消息将由此消息中心控制递送;
如果该消息不是定址于本地消息中心,则在计算机系统的消息中心路由表中寻找目的地消息中心的地址;
如果地址在路由表中,则按照指向代码寻址方式选择路由将消息发送至目的地消息中心;并且
如果地址不在路由表中,则通过全局标题转换寻址方式选择路由将消息发送到目的地消息中心。
2.根据权利要求1的方法,其特征在于,进一步包括当短消息无法被递送到它正确的目的地消息中心时本地消息中心将尝试直接递送此消息的步骤。
3.一个包括在机器可读媒质中进行编码的计算机程序的程序产品,该计算机程序包括可在适当配置的计算机中执行以便根据以下步骤在SS7网络中处理短消息的程序代码:
在本地消息中心计算机系统中接收短消息;
检查计算机系统中的消息中心用户数据库以便确定如果该消息定址于此消息中心,则该消息将由此消息中心控制递送;
如果该消息不是定址于本地消息中心,则在计算机系统的消息中心路由表中寻找目的地消息中心的地址;
如果地址在路由表中,则按照指向代码寻址方式选择路由将消息发送至目的地消息中心;并且
如果地址不在路由表中,则通过全局标题转换寻址方式选择路由将消息发送到目的地消息中心。
4.根据权利要求3的产品,其特征在于,其中当短消息无法递送到其正确的目的地消息中心时,计算机代码能在计算机上运行以便尝试直接递送该短消息。
5.一个用于在SS7网络中处理短消息的计算机系统,包括:
一个硬件平台;
一个或多个在硬件平台上执行的软件组件,用于
检查计算机系统中的本地消息中心用户数据库,以便确定如果该消息定址于本地消息中心,该消息将由此消息中心控制递送;
如果该消息不是定址于本地消息中心,则在计算机系统的消息中心路由表中寻找目的地消息中心的地址;
如果地址在路由表中,则按照指向代码寻址方式选择路由将消息发送至目的地消息中心;并且
如果地址不在路由表中,则通过全局标题转换寻址方式选择路由将消息发送到目的地消息中心。
6.根据权利要求5的产品,其特征在于,其中计算机程序组件进一步包括能在计算机上运行的代码,从而当短消息无法递送到其正确的目的地消息中心时,能够尝试直接递送该短消息。
