电子枪及其阴极射线管
本发明涉及投射式彩色电视显示管,更具体说,涉及用于这种管具有改进的高压性能的电子枪。
投射式彩色TV使用三个单色CRTs产生三原色即红、蓝和绿,三原色叠于大投射屏上,产生全色显示图像。由于管屏上的图像不能直接观看,而是要利用投射透镜系统放大和投影,所以要在高压下驱动各阴极射线管,然后束流碰撞直接观看的管,从而产生具有可接受亮度的全色显示。授予Penird等人的美国专利4904898公开了一种电子枪组件,其聚焦电极由加速电极同轴包围。美国专利4904898的一幅图这里再现为图1。该图示出了具有发射电子的阴极21、控制极22和屏电极23的电子枪。该电子枪还包括第一聚焦电极24和第二聚焦电极25。电子枪的端部被加速电极26同轴包围。更具体说,第二聚焦电极25具有杯状部分,该部分由与圆柱形基座部分25a连成一体的短圆柱部分25b和锥形部分25c构成。使第二聚焦电极25的壁倾斜有助于减小包括第二聚焦电极25和加速电极26间的高压间隙的表面。还可以增大加速电极26的内表面和第二聚焦电极25的外表面间的距离。记载了所公开的电极结构具有良好的高压性能。然而,由于第二聚焦电极25在其一端部仍有圆柱部分25b,所以仍可能残留颗粒或突起射变成场发射点。仍然没有人尝试使聚焦电极从头至尾成锥形,大概是由于相信这是主电子透镜所必需的。

根据本发明,已发现,通过改变聚焦电极的形状,使聚焦电极的端部也成锥形,仍然可以获得单色阴极射线管的高压性能。
根据本发明,聚焦电极的侧壁从端部向内倾斜。

现参见图2,本发明具有阴极51、控制极52、屏电极53、至少一个聚焦电极54、55和一个同轴包围末级聚焦电极55的一部分的加速电极56。与现有技术相反,末级聚焦电极55在其锥形部分的端部没有短圆柱部分。即,末级聚焦电极55的锥壁从头至尾向端部倾斜。锥形部分与基座部分整体制造,或可以分别制造,然后耦合到基座上。相对于电子枪中心轴形成的倾斜表面的角度较好是10-30度,这可以确保末级聚焦电极55和加速电极56间有足够的距离。所以,由于包括两电极间的间隙的表面区域变为最小,还可以进一步改善高压性能。注意,电子枪对电子束的主透镜作用发生在末级聚焦电极55和加速电极56间的间隙附近,估计本发明形成的电子透镜的有效孔径会减小,引起会导致较大电子束斑的球差。如所属领域已知的,增大的束斑会过度加热屏,使所得CRT的质量变差。然而,本发明的计算机模拟表明球差没明显增大。还发现,在低和中间电压电平下,电子束斑的大小不会增大很大致使屏上图像质量下降。而且,如图3所示,根据本发明,控制极52的厚度T至少是其束通过孔52H的直径D的10%,以补偿由末级聚焦电极55和加速电极56构成的电子透镜直径的减小。图4示出了电子束斑尺寸与加于各电极上的电流间的关系。条A表示包括具有锥形部分和其端部的短圆柱部分的末级聚焦电极的现有技术的束斑尺寸与电流的关系。低和高电流范围内的束斑尺寸大于中间范围的束斑尺寸。条B表示末级聚焦电极55只有锥形端部的本发明中束斑尺寸与电流间的关系。可以看出,在低到中间电流时,束斑小于现有技术的束斑,尽管在高电流电平下束斑会变大。通过提供厚度至少为其电子束通过孔的孔径的10%的控制极,可以防止这种在高电流电平下束斑尺寸不希望地相对增加。这种改善的获得是由于有较厚的控制极,从阴极51的外围发射的电子BE具有更靠近阴极51的交叉点P。所绘出的路径是电子通过较厚控制极52的路径。与由实线表示的电子通过较薄控制极的路径相比,交叉点移向阴极51。这种情况下,电子束到屏电极53和聚焦电极54之间的自由聚焦透镜的入射角变得较大,结果,电子束到主透镜的入射角变得较小,于是减小了打到屏上的束斑。条C即本发明的束斑在所有电流电平下都小于现有技术的条A。实验表明,如果控制极厚度小于其孔径的10%,则电子束斑会令人失望地变大,如图5所示。

Claims (3)

1.一种阴极射线管,包括具有聚焦电极和加速电极的电子枪组件,聚焦电极包括下部细长的圆柱基座部分和上部杯形部分,加速电极轴向包围聚焦电极的杯形部分,其中所说杯形部分的侧壁从其最上端起向内倾斜。
2.根据权利要求1的阴极射线管,其中所说侧壁相对于电子枪的中心轴以10-30度的角倾斜。
3.根据权利要求1的阴极射线管,还包括厚度大于其电子束通过的孔的孔径的10%的控制极。
