当前用户要知道他是否得到了新的电子邮件,只能通过与其邮件服务供应商联机。尤其是对于一些用户,他们只使用因特网范围内的″电子邮件″服务,这种情况,当没有大量电子邮件往来时,是又费时又费钱(启动计算机,联网及交费)。当新电子邮件到达时,不能自动通知用户(计算机没有开机尤其不能)。
当前此难题尚未解决。
本发明使经电话用户的电话线给用户显示出新电子邮件的到达成为可能。这可以通过一个专门设置的声音也可通过在电话机的显示屏上的某种显示来实现。
本发明的优点在于,可与用户的PC无关地通知电子邮件的使用者:现在有新电子邮件。经电子邮件收件人的电话线通知他,到达了一个电子邮件。电话网和因特网的这种协同工作完全是新型的。
下面借助附图进一步说明本发明的一实施例。附图含有一个图形。
如图中所示,如果用户的信箱状态发生变化(例如已到达新邮件),电子邮件服务供应商的电子邮件服务器向PoP(入网点,Point ofPresence=用户进入因特网的直拨点)通知一条TCP/IP消息。这条消息包括用户的E.164号码和用户的信箱状态(即未经阅读的电子邮件数量)。PoP上的一个特殊应用隔离开这些数据,并且在D-信道-通知(例如目录或功能软件)中把信箱状态经一次群线路PRI发送到用户的本地交换机LE。对用户进行E.164号码的验证。信息被暂时存储在本地交换机LE的中央处理器中,并送往连接该用户的接口组。在新邮件到达的情况下,在用户处送到一个特殊的声音,在ISDN键盘处,给用户附加地在显示屏上示出新电子邮件的数量。
为了保证实现上述信息路径,必须在电子邮件服务器上为每个用户存储下列地址:
-用户的E.164地址(用于显示到达新电子邮件)
-用户的IP地址(用于传送邮件)
-所属PoP地址(用于连接因特网和EWSD)。

其特征在于,
电子邮件服务器通知进入因特网的用户的直拨点(PoP)现在有邮件,其中该PoP将此信息转送到用户的本地交换中心,最后此交换中心通知用户现在有邮件。
