Description

Sound box with back-to-back double speakers
[ field of technology ]
The invention relates to a loudspeaker box of the type comprising a box carrying two loudspeakers arranged back-to-back (t-b-che) and rigidly connected to each other.
[ background Art ]
Speakers dedicated to low frequencies are bulky and heavy components that may cause significant vibration of the enclosure. In addition, the speakers are arranged back-to-back so that vibration energy generated by one speaker counteracts vibration generated by the other speaker.
In order to protect these speakers and enable good sound transmission, the speakers are housed in a cabinet, thereby providing a rigid frame and sound insulation. These housings are made of a strong material such as metal and are therefore heavy. The connection of the two loudspeakers and their fixation in the cabinet is complicated.
For example, a solution is described in document FR 3 087 067.
In fig. 8 to 10, the connection thereof is achieved by fixing the two speakers to the central core.
The first speaker is screwed into the central core, and the screw is accommodated in a fastening structure of the speaker.
The second speaker is provided with a flange washer fixed by a screw on the back surface. The central core comprises a support block in which a flange gasket is fixed with two pins which engage transversely to the axis of the two loudspeakers.
This arrangement enables the speakers to be attached and detached from a radial opening formed in the cabinet between the two speakers.
However, this device is heavy and unsuitable for certain fields of use aimed at weight saving, such as the automotive field.
The invention aims to provide a lighter loudspeaker box.

The subject of the invention is a loudspeaker box of the above-mentioned type, characterized in that it comprises, on the one hand, a single pull rod which connects two loudspeakers with two suspension ends (extromid' acrochage), each of which cooperates with one loudspeaker and is complementary in form, the two suspension ends being integral with each other, rotating about the axis of the pull rod, and in that it comprises, on the other hand, an axial stop between the pull rod and each loudspeaker.
According to an embodiment, the device comprises one or more of the following features:
-each speaker is connected to the cabinet;
-for at least one speaker comprising an intermediate gasket interposed between the speaker and the cabinet, provided with a set of peripheral cuts, and in which set of cuts the screws fixing the gasket to the cabinet engage, the speaker being integral with the gasket;
the tie rod comprises a threaded rod;
-each stop comprises a nut which engages on the threaded rod and bears against each speaker;
-the tank is made of plastic;
the box defines an opening forming a passage to the tie rod;
the bracket blocks the passage to the opening.
The subject of the invention is also a method of installation comprising:
-fastening the first speaker to the cabinet;
-fastening the pull rod to the rear of the first speaker;
-fastening the second speaker to the gasket to form a swivel assembly;
-fastening the rear part of the second speaker to the tie rod when mounting the swivel assembly comprising the second speaker to the cabinet; and
-fastening the rotating assembly to the tank by mounting a set screw into the peripheral cutout of the washer.
[ description of the drawings ]
The invention will be better understood from reading the following description, given by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
figure 1 is a perspective view of a section of the loudspeaker box along a median longitudinal plane;
fig. 2 is a perspective exploded view of the loudspeaker shown in fig. 1; and
fig. 3 is a partial perspective view of the axial end of the enclosure carrying the speakers of the enclosures of fig. 1 and 2.
[ detailed description ] of the invention
The loudspeaker box 10 shown in fig. 1 and 2 comprises a cylindrical box body 15 made of plastic with an axis X-X and a circular cross-section, which defines two axial end openings 20, 25. The loudspeaker box 10 comprises two loudspeakers 26, 27 arranged back-to-back along the axis X-X and mounted in the two openings 20, 25. As a modification, the shape of the case 15 is parallelepiped.
The cabinet 15 comprises a cylindrical side 31 which is partially closed at one end by a circular rim 32, the circular rim 32 being integral with the side 31 and delimiting the receiving opening 20 of the loudspeaker.
The two speakers 26, 27 are identical and each comprise a rigid bowl 33 carrying a movable membrane 34. The speaker comprises a motor 35, the motor 35 having a magnetic circuit 36 arranged at the bottom of the bowl 33 and forming with it a fixed structure of the speaker. The motor also includes a moving coil integral with the membrane 34.
The rigid bowl 33 comprises, on its periphery around the membrane 34, a peripheral fastening flange 37 provided with holes for receiving screws.
The enclosure comprises a single pull rod 40 adapted to connect the fixed structures of the two loudspeakers to each other.
As shown in fig. 1, the pull rod 40 extending along the axis X-X is a threaded rod and carries two nuts 50, 55 that act as stops to rigidly connect the two speakers 26, 27 together.
One end of the single pull rod 40 is threaded into a threaded bore 56 axially disposed in a fixed structure of the speaker 26. The nut 50 is tightened against the speaker 26 to prevent any displacement of the speaker 26 along the single pull rod 40.
The second end of the single pull rod 40 is screwed into a threaded hole 57 provided in the rear of the speaker 27, and the nut 55 is screwed against a fixed structure of the speaker 27.
Bolts 60 connect speaker 26 to circular edge 32 of cabinet 15. These bolts comprise screws that engage through aligned holes in the rim 32 and peripheral flange 37 of the speaker 26 from the interior of the cabinet 15. The screw head is rotationally fixed into a complementary shaped recess of the rim 32. A nut screwed from the outside of the speaker 26 ensures the connection.
An intermediate gasket 65 is interposed between the cabinet 15 and the speaker 27 to enable the speaker 27 to be positioned at an angle with respect to the cabinet.
The washer 65 extends the cylindrical side 31 of the housing 15 and extends radially inward. The gasket 65 defines a circular opening 70 internally for receiving the speaker 27. The circular opening 70 is the same size as the opening 20 for receiving the speaker 26. The washer 65 has two concentric turns to accommodate screws for connecting the cabinet 15 and the speaker 27.
The collar lies in the plane of the gasket 65 along the outer edge, extending the outer edge of the tank 15 on the side of the opening 25. The hole in the outer ring is a peripheral cutout 75 which is located in the thickness of the gasket 65 and which extends the tank 15, as shown in fig. 3.
Each cut extends through an arc of about 5 deg. and spaced apart from each other by shields extending through less than 1 deg. arc. Thus, the cuts cover a substantial portion of the loop.
The inner ring is located on a circle of smaller diameter corresponding to the diameter of the circle of screw holes of the outer peripheral fastening flange 37 of the speaker 27.
The speaker 27 is connected to the gasket 65 by bolts 80. The screw head is rotationally fixed into a complementarily shaped recess of the washer. The screws are oriented from the inside of the washer 65 to the outside of the speaker 27. The nut is positioned from the outer surface of the speaker 27.
The washer 65 and speaker 27 form a rotating assembly 85. Bolts 90 connect it to the case 15. These bolts seat in the cutouts of the outer ring of the washer and hold the rotating assembly 85 to the housing 15 together with nuts that are secured in notches 95 leading to the cylindrical outer surface of the housing 15.
The case 15 has an opening 96 in a direction orthogonal to the axis X-X. The opening 96 is wide enough to allow passage of a tool for threading the nuts 50, 55 onto the pull rod 40.
The fastening bracket 100 is screwed onto the opening 96 by means of bolts 105. The fastening bracket 100 can ensure the connection of the sound box to the body of the motor vehicle.
The installation of the sound box 10 will now be briefly described with reference to fig. 2.
The speaker 26 is mounted to the housing 15 by placing the screws 60 in smooth holes in the circular rim 32 through the interior of the housing 15. These screws fix the speaker 26 to the case 15 by fixing them with nuts from the outside of the speaker 26.
The pull rod 40 is screwed into the threaded bore 56 of the speaker 26 through the opening 25 in the housing 15. The tie rod carries the two nuts 50, 55 pre-installed. The first nut 50 is tightened against the bottom of the bowl 33 of the speaker 26 so that the stationary pull rod 40 cannot rotate.
The speaker 27 is fastened to the gasket 65 by a set bolt 80.
The swivel assembly 85 formed by the speaker 27 and the washer 65 is then screwed onto the pull rod 40. By rotating the speaker 27, the tie rod 40, which is kept stationary due to the nut 50, is brought into the threaded hole 57 of the speaker 27. The rotating assembly 85 rotates until the gasket 65 abuts the housing 15.
Nuts are disposed in the slots 95 to securely hold the screws to connect the rotating assembly 85 to the case 15.
The screws 90 are inserted into the peripheral cutouts 75 to a length that enables the screws 90 to be aligned with the associated holes in the case 15. If not, the rotation assembly 85 is rotated a few more degrees to ensure that the peripheral cutout 75 is opposite the aperture of the housing 15. Screw 90 is tightened.
The nut 55 is tightened until it reaches through the opening 96 to the bottom of the bowl 33 against the speaker 27.
The electrical connection between the two speakers 26, 27 is made after the two speakers 26, 27 are rigidly connected to each other, thereby limiting the effect of the rotation of the speaker 27 on the electrical coupling of the two speakers. Screws forming part of bolts 105 are installed along openings 96 and openings 96 are then closed.
The openings 96 are closed by tightening the brackets 100 by means of bolts 105 and tightening the corresponding nuts.
The reverse procedure is used to disassemble the enclosure 10.
The advantages of the loudspeaker 10 are that it is compact, easy to install and remove, and does not require glue or any other chemical elements.
