Furthermore, in the description and claims, "and/or" means at least one of the connected objects, and the character "/", generally means that the associated object is an "or" relationship.
The firmware burning method provided by the embodiment of the application is described in detail below by means of specific embodiments and application scenarios thereof with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Referring to fig. 1, fig. 1 shows a step flowchart of a firmware burning method provided in an embodiment of the present application, where the firmware burning method may be run on a terminal device such as a computer, a burner, and the like, and the method may specifically include the following steps:
step 101, switching a first circuit change-over switch of a main board to communicate a communication transmission interface of the main board with a memory of a baseboard management controller of the main board; the first circuit transfer switch is used for switching the memory of the baseboard management controller to be communicated with the baseboard management controller or the memory of the baseboard management controller to be communicated with the communication transmission interface.
In the embodiment of the application, the baseboard management controller may be mounted with a baseboard management controller memory chip, and a programming file or a firmware file may be stored in the baseboard management controller memory chip, so that the baseboard management controller may implement a function specified by the programming file or the firmware file. The baseboard management controller may communicate with the external device through a communication transmission interface, for example, may transmit a log file to the external device or operate a server device connected to the baseboard management controller in response to an instruction of the external device. Typically, the programming file or firmware file is transferred into the baseboard management controller memory chip in a burning manner to function. The burning is to transmit the target data to the programmable device in the form of programming signals through special software and hardware equipment. These programming signals may change the electronic state within the programmable device to write or modify specific data. During the programming process, programming firmware or software tools are typically used to interact with the target device. The programming firmware or software tool will convert the target data into specific programming signals and transmit them to the target device via the communication interface. The target device receiving the programming signal writes data into a memory cell within the device according to the instruction of the signal to effect an update or modification of the data. Different programming techniques and programming interfaces have different principles of operation. In the embodiment of the application, the communication transmission interface may be an RS232 DB9 hole interface with pins 1 to 9, and the programming interface may be a serial peripheral interface (Serial Peripheral Interface, SPI) with 5 transmission lines. The 5 transmission lines of the serial peripheral interface may be soldered to pins 1 through 5 of the DB9 via interface. The corresponding relation between the RS232 pin and the serial peripheral interface transmission line is shown in the following table:
Table 1 RS232 and SPI pin correspondence table
In the embodiment of the present application, in order to prevent confusion and errors between the original communication function of the RS232 interface and the writing function of the serial peripheral interface, an SPI bus and a first line switch may be added between the RS232 interface as a communication transmission interface and the baseboard management controller memory, where the first line switch is used to switch the baseboard management controller memory to communicate with the baseboard management controller, or the baseboard management controller memory to communicate with the communication transmission interface. When the memory of the baseboard management controller is communicated with the baseboard management controller, the baseboard management controller can access firmware files or become files in the memory of the baseboard management controller so as to operate various functions of the baseboard management controller; when the memory of the baseboard management controller is communicated with the communication transmission interface, a communication line between the baseboard management controller and the memory of the baseboard management controller is cut off, and a firmware file can be burnt into the memory of the baseboard management controller from the communication transmission interface through the SPI bus.
In the embodiment of the application, the first terminal may switch the first line transfer switch, so that the communication transmission interface and the memory of the baseboard management controller may be connected, and the connection between the baseboard management controller and the memory of the baseboard management controller may be disconnected while the first line transfer switch is switched to connect the communication transmission interface and the memory of the baseboard management controller. In addition, the communication transmission interface may be an integrated interface other than RS232, such as an RS485 type interface, which is not limited in the embodiments of the present application.
Step 102, burning the firmware file into the memory of the baseboard management controller through the communication transmission interface and the first line change-over switch.
In the embodiment of the present application, after the first line transfer switch is switched so that the memory of the baseboard management controller and the communication transmission interface are in a connected state, the firmware file for burning may be burned into the memory of the baseboard management controller through the communication transmission interface, the first line transfer switch and the corresponding transmission line by the burning tool.
Step 103, switching the first line switch to connect the baseboard management controller and the baseboard management controller memory, so that the baseboard management controller calls the firmware file in the baseboard management controller memory.
In the embodiment of the present application, as can be seen from the embodiment content of step 101, after the writing is completed, the bmc and the bmc memory may be in an off state, and at this time, the first line switch may be switched to connect the bmc and the bmc memory, and the connection between the bmc memory and the communication transmission interface may be disconnected while the first line switch is switched to connect the bmc and the bmc memory. After restoring the connection between the baseboard management controller memory and the baseboard management controller, the baseboard management controller may call the firmware file in the baseboard management controller memory, so that each function of the baseboard management controller may be implemented.
In the embodiment of the application, a first line change-over switch of a main board is switched to communicate a communication transmission interface of the main board and a memory of a baseboard management controller of the main board; the first circuit transfer switch is used for switching the memory of the baseboard management controller to be communicated with the baseboard management controller or the memory of the baseboard management controller to be communicated with the communication transmission interface, firmware files are burnt into the memory of the baseboard management controller through the communication transmission interface and the first circuit transfer switch, and the first circuit transfer switch is switched to be communicated with the baseboard management controller and the memory of the baseboard management controller, so that the baseboard management controller can call the firmware files in the memory of the baseboard management controller, the memory of the baseboard management controller can be burnt directly through the communication transmission interface of the baseboard management controller, the memory of the baseboard management controller is prevented from being dismantled, and the time cost and the labor cost for maintaining the memory of the baseboard management controller are reduced to a certain extent.
Referring to fig. 2, fig. 2 is a flowchart illustrating steps of another firmware burning method according to an embodiment of the present application, where the method specifically includes the following steps:
step 201, switching a first line change-over switch of a main board to communicate a communication transmission interface of the main board with a memory of a baseboard management controller of the main board; the first circuit transfer switch is used for switching the memory of the baseboard management controller to be communicated with the baseboard management controller or the memory of the baseboard management controller to be communicated with the communication transmission interface.
In the embodiment of the present application, the implementation content of this step may refer to the implementation content of step 101, which is not described herein.
Optionally, in step 201, the following sub-steps may be included:
a substep 2011, switching a second line change-over switch of the main board to communicate the communication transmission interface and the first line change-over switch; the second circuit transfer switch is used for switching the communication transmission interface to be communicated with the baseboard management controller or the communication transmission interface to be communicated with the first circuit transfer switch.
In an embodiment of the present application, the first line transfer switch and the transmission line of the communication transmission interface may have a second line transfer switch, where the second line transfer switch may be used to switch the communication transmission interface to communicate with the baseboard management controller, or the communication transmission interface may communicate with the first line transfer switch, that is, the second line transfer switch may be disposed on the transmission line of the communication transmission interface and the baseboard management controller, and a transmission line may be established between the first line transfer switch and the second line transfer switch, so that the memory of the baseboard management controller may communicate with the communication transmission interface through the first line transfer switch and the second line transfer switch. During normal use of the baseboard management controller, the second circuit transfer switch can communicate the communication transmission interface with the baseboard management controller, so that the baseboard management controller can communicate with external equipment. In an embodiment of the present application, the second line transfer switch may be switched, so that the communication transmission interface and the first line transfer switch may be communicated and the connection between the communication transmission interface and the baseboard management controller may be disconnected.
A sub-step 2012 of switching the first circuit switch to communicate the baseboard management controller memory and the second circuit switch; the first circuit transfer switch is used for switching the memory of the baseboard management controller to be communicated with the baseboard management controller or switching the memory of the baseboard management controller to be communicated with the second circuit transfer switch.
In an embodiment of the present application, the first line switch is used to switch the baseboard management controller memory to communicate with the baseboard management controller, or the baseboard management controller memory to communicate with the second line switch. In the embodiment of the application, the first line change-over switch can be switched, so that the memory of the baseboard management controller and the second line change-over switch can be communicated, and the connection between the baseboard management controller and the memory of the baseboard management controller can be disconnected.
In the embodiment of the present application, after the switching of the second circuit switch in the substep 2011 and the switching of the first circuit switch in the substep 2012, the communication transmission interface and the baseboard management controller memory may be communicated, so that the baseboard management controller memory may be directly communicated with an external device.
For example, as shown in fig. 3, fig. 3 is a schematic component structure of a firmware burning method according to an embodiment of the present application. In fig. 3, the solid line may be a signal transmission line and the broken line may be a power supply line. The terminal device may be directly connected to the communication transmission interface, and the first line change-over switch and the second line change-over switch may be controlled through the communication transmission interface. Under the condition that the second line change-over switch is communicated with the communication transmission interface and the baseboard management controller, or the first line change-over switch is communicated with the internal memory of the baseboard management controller and the baseboard management controller, the internal memory of the baseboard management controller cannot be directly communicated with the communication transmission interface, and cannot be directly communicated with the terminal equipment through the communication transmission interface. Only when the second line transfer switch is communicated with the communication transmission interface and the first line transfer switch, and the first line transfer switch is communicated with the memory of the baseboard management controller and the second line transfer switch, the baseboard management controller can directly communicate with the terminal equipment through the communication transmission interface.
In the embodiment of the application, the second line transfer switch of the main board is switched to communicate the communication transmission interface and the first line transfer switch; the second circuit transfer switch is used for switching the communication transmission interface to be communicated with the substrate management controller, or the communication transmission interface is communicated with the first circuit transfer switch, and switching the first circuit transfer switch to be communicated with the memory of the substrate management controller and the second circuit transfer switch; the first circuit transfer switch is used for switching the memory of the baseboard management controller to be communicated with the baseboard management controller, or the memory of the baseboard management controller is communicated with the second circuit transfer switch, so that the memory of the baseboard management controller is communicated with the communication transmission interface through the first circuit transfer switch and the second circuit transfer switch, and the connection between the memory of the baseboard management controller, the communication transmission interface and the baseboard management controller is disconnected, logic confusion and errors possibly occurring in the burning process are avoided, and the reliability and the safety of the firmware burning method are improved.
Step 202, turning off a first switch corresponding to a first power supply; the first power supply and the first switch are located on the main board, and the first power supply is used for supplying power to the baseboard management controller and the baseboard management controller memory through the first switch.
In an embodiment of the present application, the first switch may connect the first power source, the baseboard management controller, and the baseboard management controller memory, and the first power source may supply power to the baseboard management controller and the baseboard management controller memory under a condition that the first switch is connected. The first power supply may be a dc regulated power supply, and the voltage value may be adjusted according to a rated voltage of the baseboard management controller. Under the condition that the memory of the baseboard management controller is communicated with the communication transmission interface, the first switch can be closed so as to stop the power supply of the first power supply to the memory of the baseboard management controller and the baseboard management controller.
Step 203, turning on a second switch; the second switch is used for supplying power to the memory of the baseboard management controller through the communication transmission interface by an external power supply.
In the embodiment of the application, the terminal device connected with the communication transmission interface may be equipped with an external power supply, and may supply power to the memory of the baseboard management controller through the second switch. The second switch may be turned on to enable an external power supply mounted on the terminal device to supply power to the memory of the baseboard management controller through the communication transmission interface.
