Description

Sensor, in particular a rotation angle sensor or a torque sensor, comprising a support for preventing rotation of a stator
Technical Field
The invention relates to a sensor, in particular a rotational angle sensor or a torque sensor, comprising at least one stator that is stationary relative to the environment and at least one rotor that is rotatable relative to the environment and the stator, wherein the stator has: a support with which the stator is fixed against rotation relative to the environment; and a circuit board on which the electronic circuit arrangement of the stator is disposed.
Background
A rotation angle sensor for determining a relative angular position with respect to a reference position is disclosed in DE 10 2012 105966 A1. The rotation angle sensor has: a housing; at least one rotor rotatably supported in the housing; a circuit board having a circuit arrangement composed of electrical and/or electronic components; and one or more stators corresponding to the number of rotors. The housing is prevented from rotating relative to the environment of the sensor by means of a support, which is referred to as a connecting element in DE 10 2012, 105966a1, that is to say is supported in a recess of a stationary component of the motor vehicle. Under all possible operating conditions, there is no gap support. This is achieved in that the plastic springs of the support are supported by metal springs and that both springs compensate for tolerances of the recess and/or the support.
The support (which includes the two springs) construction costs. The support can be produced as an injection-molded part made of plastic, in addition to the metal spring, but the assembly is complicated, in particular, by the use of metal springs.
Disclosure of Invention
Where the invention begins.
The invention is based on the object of finding a simpler construction, in particular for the play-free support of the stator of the sensor mentioned at the outset.
The object is achieved according to the invention in that the support is a pin or other protruding part; and the electronic circuit arrangement and the pin are at least partially wrapped by a casting material, wherein one end of the pin or other protruding component protrudes from the casting material; and the pins or other protruding parts are fastened in or on the circuit board or in or on the casting.
Pins or other protruding parts can be manufactured and fastened to the circuit board in a simple manner. The pins or other protruding parts may be fastened to the circuit board, for example, according to rivets or by snap-fit connection. It is also possible to insert only pins or other protruding parts into holes in the circuit board and to fasten them further by casting of the casting compound. Pins or other protruding parts may also be fastened only to the casting material.
The circuit arrangement can be completely or partially encapsulated by the potting compound, so that the housing is not necessary for protecting the circuit arrangement from environmental influences.
By means of the invention, very similar sensors according to the invention can be produced in a simple manner, which differ only by the design of the pins or other protruding parts and by the position in which the pins or other protruding parts protrude from the casting compound. It is thus possible to produce sensors that are adapted to different environments without great effort.
The pin or other protruding part may consist at least partly of an elastomer, in particular of a thermoplastic elastomer. Preferably, at least the end of the pin or other protruding part protruding from the casting material consists of a thermoplastic elastomer or it has a covering layer consisting of a thermoplastic elastomer. The end of the pin or other protruding part, which end is composed of an elastomer, makes it possible in a simple manner to achieve a play-free support of the stator in or on the environment.
The pin or other protruding part may also consist of two plastic components, a hard base and a resilient end. It is also possible that the further (ansonsten) inelastic end of the pin or other protruding part carries a cover part consisting of an elastomer, whereby said end obtains an elastic feature.
The base of the pin or other protruding component fastened in or on the circuit board may consist of a material having the same coefficient of thermal expansion as the casting material or a similar coefficient of thermal expansion as the end of the pin protruding from the casting material.
Preferably, the casting compound consists of a thermosetting plastic or a thermoplastic plastic.
The ends of the pins or other protruding parts may protrude from the casting material in any direction. In order to be able to be used as a support, it must only be possible for the end to engage in a recess, hole, groove or the like in the environment. It is preferably possible that the ends of the pins or other protruding parts protrude from the thermosetting plastic in the direction of the rotational axis of the rotor or parallel to said rotational axis. It is also possible that the ends of the pins or other protruding parts protrude from the thermosetting plastic in a direction radial to the axis of rotation of the rotor.
Drawings
The invention is further elucidated hereinafter with reference to the drawings. In the figure:
FIG. 1 shows a top view of a portion of a sensor according to the present invention; and
fig. 2 shows a section of the part of fig. 1.
Detailed Description
The part of the sensor according to the invention shown in the figures comprises a part of the circuit board 1. The circuit board 1 is an assembly of the stator of the sensor, which also includes the rotor, but no part of the rotor is shown. The illustrated part of the circuit board 1 is cast into a casting compound 2. Holes are formed in the casting material 2. The pin 3 is fastened in this hole in accordance with the manner of a rivet. The pin 3 protrudes from the casting material 2 parallel to the rotation axis. In the variant shown in broken lines, the pin 3 protrudes from the casting compound 2 in the radial direction.
The sensor may have a central recess through which a shaft or axle, for example a steering column, is guided. The rotor may be fastened to the shaft or axle. And the stator is fixedly secured to or in the environment of the shaft or axle. Rotation of the stator relative to the environment is prevented by pins 3 which form a support for the stator to prevent rotation.
The casting compound 2 consists of a thermosetting plastic, while the pin 3 is made of a thermoplastic elastomer. The pin 3 may have an oversized dimension with respect to a recess in the body in the environment of the sensor. If the pin 3 is inserted into a groove in the body, the pin is in the groove without play. Thereby, the gap tolerance between the pin 3 and the groove can be compensated. The stator thus has a support without play to prevent rotation.
