Abstract
The invention relates to a burner unit (1) for burning an air-fuel mixture. The air supply dome (3) has a recess (4) which has a greater width on the inner side (30) than on the outer side (31) of the air supply dome (3).
Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a burner unit for combusting an air-fuel mixture. The burner unit is for example part of a heating device for heating air or a liquid, such as water. The fuel is, for example, diesel, gasoline or a flammable gas (e.g., propane).
Background
DE 295 11 384u1 describes a burner unit with an outer tube and an inner tube. The inner tube is located in the outer tube and allows combustion air to be supplied via the slit. Fuel is introduced into the outer tube. The mixture produced from air and fuel is combusted in a flame tube. The design of the combustion chamber can likewise be found in DE 633304, DE 44 42 425 B4, DE 44 47 986 B4, DE 195 29 994a1 or DE 10 2013109 1840 a 1.
In order to burn as completely as possible and with little harmful substances, as good a mixing of air and fuel as possible is required.
Disclosure of Invention
The present invention is therefore based on the object of providing a burner unit which allows as good combustion of an air-fuel mixture as possible.
The invention achieves the object by a burner unit for burning an air-fuel mixture, having a combustion chamber, a combustion air guiding dome and a fuel supply, wherein the combustion air guiding dome is located in the combustion chamber and has a recess, wherein the fuel supply opens into the combustion chamber, and wherein the recess has a greater width on the inner side of the combustion air guiding dome than on the outer side of the air supply dome.
The recess in the combustion dome (Verbrennungsdom) does not have a constant width, but rather narrows from inside to outside, wherein (combustion) air passes from the inner space of the dome through the recess in the combustion dome into the combustion chamber. In this case, the observation is made in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the dome and/or the burner unit, respectively. The dome can also alternatively be referred to as an inner tube or an inner cylinder. Furthermore, fuel, i.e. for example diesel oil, enters the combustion chamber via a fuel supply. It has been shown that narrowing of the clearance improves mixing. In this case, for example, a more uniform velocity distribution in the combustion chamber is produced. In addition, for example, pressure losses can be avoided.
The recess is configured, for example, as a slot along the longitudinal axis. Air enters the interior space of the dome, for example via a fan, and from there into the combustion chamber around the air supply dome. In one embodiment, the burner unit is part of a heating device.
One embodiment consists in the recess tapering from the inside to the outside. The side walls of the recess have, for example, a smooth extension with a constant slope.
In one embodiment, the recess is configured such that a nozzle effect for the air guided out of the combustion air guide dome is produced by the recess.
One embodiment consists in that the recess has a substantially constant extent along the longitudinal axis of the air supply dome. The recess is for example an axially oriented slit. An alternative embodiment provides that the shape of the recess varies along the longitudinal axis of the air supply dome.
The longitudinal axis of the combustion air guide dome is especially perpendicular to the direction in which the recess narrows from inside to outside.
One embodiment consists in that the combustion air guide dome has a substantially cylindrical shape. The combustion air guide dome can be closed or opened on the end side.
In one embodiment, it is provided that the recesses have different heights along the longitudinal axis of the air supply dome. In this embodiment, the recess has different lengths or extensions in the axial direction. An alternative embodiment consists in that the recesses have a common height along the longitudinal axis of the air supply dome. In this embodiment, the recess has a common or identical axial extension along the longitudinal axis.
Drawings
In detail, there are a number of possibilities to construct and improve the burner unit according to the invention. Reference is made to the claims which depend on claim 1 on the one hand, and to the following description of embodiments in connection with the accompanying drawings on the other hand. The drawings show:
FIG. 1 shows a cross-sectional view through a schematic view of a burner unit along a longitudinal axis; and
fig. 2 shows a cross-section through the burner unit perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.
Detailed Description
Fig. 1 schematically shows a burner unit 1, which is part of a heating device, for example. A mixture of fuel, such as gas or diesel, and combustion air is combusted in the combustion chamber 2. Good mixing is required in order to burn as efficiently as possible and also to produce as little harmful substances as possible. Combustion air is led into the combustion chamber 2 via a recess 4 in the combustion air guide dome 3. The recess 4 is embodied here as a slit, which starts from the inner end face of the combustion air guide dome 3 and extends along the longitudinal axis 6 of the burner unit 1, in this case also the combustion air guide dome 3. Therefore, the shape of the cutout 4 is constant in the axial direction, and the cutout 4 extends parallel to each other. In the illustrated embodiment, the recesses 4 also have a common height, i.e. have a common, i.e. identical axial extension. The combustion air guiding dome 4 is a cylinder with a circular bottom surface. Fuel enters the combustion chamber 2 via a fuel supply 5.
Fig. 2 shows a sectional view along the longitudinal axis 6 through the combustion air guiding dome 3. Visible is a recess 4 which extends from the inner side 30 to the outer side 31 and becomes narrower from the inside to the outside. Therefore, the width of the recess 4 is greater on the inner side 30 than on the outer side 31. Thus creating a nozzle effect.
