Cap device for bottle
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of food bottles, and in particular to a cap device for a food bottle containing a food liquid.
Background
Some active substances in edible liquids are susceptible to degradation due to light, heat, temperature changes, or chemical reactions with gaseous environments or container materials. Preservation of certain active substances that are desired to be found in liquid foods such as beverages or other edible liquids is preferably accomplished in a dry state or under anaerobic conditions. Other reactive elements found in oxygen or ambient air or dissolved in water can cause degradation of active substances (e.g. flavors or vitamins or other food supplements) over time.
However, beverages and other food liquids must be capable of being transported, stored and sold over a period of time without losing their olfactory or nutritional qualities, and preferably in a non-refrigerated medium.
In general, it is advantageous to extend the shelf life of food liquids while maintaining the desired taste and nutritional quality.
Substances for beverages are often provided in dry form, such as freeze-dried powders that are added to water or liquid beverages while the beverage is being consumed. However, this is not practical in many applications and consumers prefer to use sealed bottles containing ready-to-drink liquids.
In view of the above, it is an object of the present invention to provide a cap storage device for bottles, which enables its use in liquid foods such as ready-to-drink beverages, convenient to use, while allowing for long protection times and/or preserving the taste and nutritional quality of the active substance.
It would be advantageous to provide a cap storage device that is easy to use.
It would be advantageous to provide a cap storage device for bottles that is economical to manufacture.

Detailed Description
Referring to the drawings, there is shown a cap storage device 1 for closing a bottle 30. The bottle 30 comprises a container 31 with a neck 32, on which neck 32 the cap storage device 1 is intended to be mounted to hermetically close the liquid 40 contained in the container 31. The liquid may be water, tea, coffee, juice, milk, soup or other food liquid.
The cap storage device 1 includes a mouthpiece 3, a dissolvable block 5 accommodated in the mouthpiece 3, an actuator 4, and a cap 2.
The cap 2 comprises a base 6 and a top 7, the base 6 constituting a frame for fixing to the neck 32 of the bottle 30, the top 7 forming a leaf-like structure with respect to the base 6, allowing access to the pusher 18 of the actuator 4. The base 6 of the cap 2 may in particular comprise a threaded crown 29 for engaging the external thread 33 of the neck of the bottle. The threads correspond to threads found, for example, on many existing beverage bottles.
The base 6 of the cap 2 may have any kind of other connection shape adapted to the neck of the container to which the cap is intended to be connected.
The top 7 covers the cover 11 of the base 6 and is removable with respect to the base 6 in order to access the pusher 18 of the actuator 4 to actuate the actuator just before drinking the beverage.
The collar 3 hermetically constrains the dissolvable mass 5 with respect to the liquid contained in the container 31 and with respect to the external environment of the bottle 30. The mouthpiece 3 comprises a securing portion 8, the securing portion 8 being for example in the form of a flange engaging the inner surface of the upper part of the neck 32. The fixing portion 8 may be formed in a fixed manner with the base portion 6 of the cover 2, or may be welded or fixed to the base portion 6 of the cover 2.
The connection between the edge 35 of neck 32 and lid 2 in the closed position constitutes a sealed connection between lid 2 and container 31.
The mouthpiece 3 further comprises a side wall 12 and a bottom wall 14, which seal against the interior of the container 31 and enclose a chamber 16 in which the dissolvable block 5 is housed.
The actuator 4 comprises a perforator 20 mounted in the chamber 16 and comprising a perforation blade or tip arranged adjacent to the bottom wall 14, the perforator 20 being connected to a pusher 18 arranged at the upper part of the lid 2 below the top 7 so as to be actuatable by pushing of a user's finger towards the inside of the container. The actuator 4 is movable from an upper position prior to use to a lower position in which the perforator 20 pierces at least a portion of the bottom wall 14.
Perforations in the bottom wall 14 allow the liquid contained in the container to flow into the chamber 16 and wet the dissolvable mass 5. Perforations in the bottom wall 14 may also be configured to allow the dissolvable mass 5 to fall into the liquid 40 contained in the container 31.
Pusher 18 may be connected to perforator 20 by a rod 24, rod 24 may be guided by fixation portion 8 and/or side wall 12 of mouthpiece 3. A catch 26 or other retaining means provided on the lever may be provided to lock the actuator in the base position after actuation to retain the bottom wall 14 in the open position.
Prior to actuation, that is to say when the chamber 16 of the mouthpiece is sealed closed, the chamber 16 may be filled with a non-oxidising gas, for example nitrogen, to increase the shelf life of the active substance contained in the dissolvable mass 5.
In a preferred embodiment, the dissolvable mass 5 comprises one or more active ingredients covered by a coating or matrix of soluble food material that retains the characteristics of the active ingredients. These active ingredients may be fragrances, phenolic compounds (polyphenols), plants and plant extracts, essential oils or other food or phytosanitary ingredients to be mixed with the liquid contained in the container.
In some embodiments, different dissolvable masses may contain different active ingredients. In fact, the shelf life of some active ingredients put together is relatively short compared to the storage time of food and beverage in a typical distribution chain, which may last from days to months. It is therefore advantageous to keep the active ingredients separate and to mix them just before drinking the beverage in order to limit degradation of these ingredients as much as possible.
In a preferred embodiment, the coating or soluble material may be in the form of starch (e.g., tapioca starch) or other soluble food gel.
As shown in fig. 6a, 6b, the cap storage device 1, pre-filled with the dissolvable mass 5 hermetically enclosed within the mouthpiece 3, can be provided assembled well to a bottle containing liquid at atmospheric pressure or liquid under pressure found in soft drinks. The container 31 of the bottle may be made of any material well known for food containers, such as glass, PET, polycarbonate, and other materials commonly used for food containers.
In another embodiment, the cap storage device 1 according to the present invention may also be provided without a bottle, for example packaged in a pouch or other food package, which the consumer can use to replace a standard container cap on a liquid filled bottle (e.g. a bottle of mineral water).
According to one embodiment, the cap storage device 1 may be provided with different dissolvable masses 5, for example containing different fragrances or food or phytosanitary substances.
When the user wants to drink a beverage or other liquid food he releases the top 7 of the lid as shown in fig. 4a and presses the pusher 18 of the actuator 4, which lowers the perforator 20 that cuts, perforates or breaks a portion of the bottom wall 4. The perforator 20 is configured to cut only a portion of the periphery of the bottom wall 14, leaving a portion secured to the side wall 12 such that the bottom wall 14 remains attached to the sleeve 3 and does not fall into the container 31. For example, the perforator may have perforation or cutting teeth on an arc of, for example, 270 ° to 330 ° in order to cut away most of the periphery of the bottom wall. The dissolvable mass 5 may fall into the liquid at the time of perforation or remain in the mouthpiece 3.
In a first variant, the cap 2 comprises a cover portion covering the opening of the neck 32 and sealingly connected to the base 6. The pusher 18 is connected in such a way as to be fixed or not fixed to the cover portion 11 of the lid 2 by welding. The cover 11 may be curved upwards, that is to say towards the outside of the bottle in a convex manner, and has sufficient flexibility to be able to be depressed by the user's finger when pressing it, so as to actuate the actuator 4 and perforate the mouthpiece 3. In this variant, the top 7 covers the cover 11 of the lid to avoid unintentional actuation of the actuator before the top is opened.
In another variant, the top 7 may also be used to hermetically close the opening of the neck 32 and may be hermetically screwed to the base of the cap 2. Other connection means, for example by means of swivel joints and clamping mechanisms, may be provided to secure the top to the base 6 of the lid 2.
After the vial cap is perforated, the user may shake the vial to mix the dissolvable mass 5 with the liquid 40 to dissolve the dissolvable coating of the mass and release the active ingredient. According to this embodiment, the user can unscrew or remove the cap storage device 1 completely from the container 31 to drink directly from the bottle or pour the liquid into the glass, as shown in fig. 5 b.
In a variant, the user can open the top 7 and then pour the liquid through the mouthpiece 3 which is held in place on the neck of the bottle. In this variant, a filter 9, which may be in the form of a mesh, retaining the solid material contained in the dissolvable mass, or in the form of a finer filter (e.g. a paper filter) may be provided within the mouthpiece sleeve to retain finer particles. In such a variant, it is also conceivable that dissolution of the dissolvable mass 5 occurs when the user pours out the content of the container, dissolution taking place during the discharge of the liquid contained in the container.
The cap storage device according to the present invention can be made in a specific size and provided with a fixing means complementary to the various existing bottles and flasks, as an alternative to the conventional cap for hermetically closing the neck of said various flasks and flasks. The cap storage device according to embodiments of the present invention may be pre-installed on factory-filled bottles or sold separately for use by consumers on conventional bottles. The bottle may be a disposable or reusable bottle that may be self-filled by a user, for example, with tap water or other liquid. The user may then actuate the cap to release the dissolvable mass into the liquid contained in the container prior to drinking the liquid.
Thus, the cap storage device according to the present invention may be used to season tap water or other cold or hot liquids (e.g. coffee, tea and herbal tea). The present invention allows the active ingredients to be released prior to drinking the beverage and to remain unaffected by oxygen or other chemical agents. For example, in pharmacology, it is well known that many natural products obtained from plants cannot be mixed together before consumption. Thus preserving flavors or nutrients, phytochemicals or pharmaceutical ingredients.
