Detailed Description
For the purpose of making the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the embodiments of the present invention more apparent, the technical solutions of the embodiments of the present invention will be clearly and completely described below with reference to the accompanying drawings in the embodiments of the present invention, and it is apparent that the described embodiments are some embodiments of the present invention, but not all embodiments of the present invention. All other embodiments, which can be made by those skilled in the art based on the embodiments of the invention without making any inventive effort, are intended to be within the scope of the invention.
In order to control and manage the server in a targeted manner, the baseboard management controller generally needs to load different driving and function configuration files according to the model of the server in the starting process. In the related art, the server model information is usually solidified in the baseboard management controller and cannot be modified, which brings inconvenience to adjusting the server model information in the baseboard management controller and is not beneficial to flexibly configuring the baseboard management controller. In view of this, the present invention can provide a startup control method in which a baseboard management controller can store server model information in its built-in storage device, and can provide a function of modifying this information, so that flexibility in configuring server model information for the baseboard management controller can be improved.
Referring to fig. 1, fig. 1 is a flowchart of a startup control method according to an embodiment of the present invention, where the method is applied to a baseboard management controller, and may include:
and S101, when the power-on start is detected, determining whether the first server model information in the baseboard management controller storage device is valid.
In the embodiment of the invention, the baseboard management controller can store the server model information in the storage device and can provide an interface for modifying the server model information for the external device. Therefore, the management equipment can flexibly configure the substrate management controller according to the model corresponding to the server to which the substrate management controller actually belongs, so that the configuration flexibility of the substrate management controller can be improved. It should be noted that, the embodiment of the present invention is not limited to a specific storage device, and may be, for example, an EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable read only memory, charged erasable programmable read only memory) or an external storage device, and may be set according to practical application requirements.
Further, it can be understood that the baseboard management controller needs to acquire server model information from the storage device during power-on and load a corresponding startup file according to the information to control and manage a server of a specific model, where "the first server model information" in step S101 refers to the server model information in the storage device, and "the first" is used to distinguish the server model information from the server model information issued by the management device. However, the baseboard management controller may not be configured with valid server model information at the time of initial startup, so when determining that the server model information in the storage device is invalid, it needs to wait for the management platform to issue valid server model information for it. It should be noted that, the embodiment of the present invention is not limited to how the baseboard management controller determines whether the server model information in the storage device is valid, for example, whether the information is valid may be determined according to whether the server model information is stored in the storage device, or whether the information is valid may be determined according to whether the server model information is a default value. In the embodiment of the present invention, for storing the specification information, the baseboard management controller may be preset with a default server model information, where the default server model information does not correspond to any server model, and further the controller may determine whether the information is valid according to whether the server model information in the storage device is a default value.
Based on this, determining whether the first server model information in the baseboard management controller storage device is valid may include:
step 11: judging whether the first server model information is a default value or not; if yes, go to step 12; if not, entering step 13;
step 12: determining that the first server model information is invalid;
step 13: and determining that the first server model information is valid.
It should be noted that, the embodiment of the present invention is not limited to a specific default value, and may be set according to actual application requirements, for example, may be 0xff.
S102, when the first server model information is determined to be invalid, a minimum starting operation is executed, and the second server model information input by the management equipment is waited.
When it is determined that the server model information in the storage device is invalid, the baseboard management controller may perform a minimum start-up operation, i.e., the baseboard management controller may start up a minimum system at this time to provide basic parameter reading and modifying functions to the outside without providing other system functions. In other words, the baseboard management controller may provide an interface for modifying the server model information to the management platform at this time, so that the management device can complete information adjustment only by inputting valid server model information to the controller through the interface, where "second server model information" in step S102 refers to server model information issued by the management device, and "second" is used for distinguishing from server model information in the baseboard management controller storage device. It should be noted that the embodiments of the present invention are not limited to the specific manner of minimizing the start-up, and reference may be made to the related art of the baseboard management controller. The embodiment of the invention is not limited to the specific implementation mode of the interface for modifying the server model information, and can refer to the related technology of the baseboard management controller.
Further, in practical applications, the management device generally needs to manage multiple baseboard management controllers at the same time. At this time, the management device needs to distinguish which baseboard management controllers are in the minimum startup state, so as to issue the server model information. To this end, the baseboard management controller may also provide an interface to initiate status queries. The management device may send a startup status query request to the baseboard management controller through the interface, and the baseboard management controller may return a corresponding status value to the management device through the interface according to the current startup status. For example, when the baseboard management controller is in the minimum startup state, it may return a state value to the management device that indicates the minimum startup state; when the baseboard management controller is in a full startup state, then a status value indicating the full startup state may be returned to the management device. Furthermore, the management device can determine which controllers are the baseboard management controllers in the minimum start-up state only according to the state values returned by each baseboard management controller. In other words, the baseboard management controller in the minimal startup state can provide two interfaces: and the server model information modification interface and the starting state query interface. It should be noted that, the embodiment of the present invention is not limited to the specific implementation manner of the interface for querying the start state, and may refer to the related art of the baseboard management controller.
Based on this, after performing the minimum start-up operation, the method may further include:
step 21: and when receiving a startup state query request sent by the management device, returning a state value representing the minimized startup state to the management device so that the management device determines that the management device is in the minimized startup state.
It should be noted that, the embodiment of the present invention is not limited to a specific state value, and may be set according to actual application requirements.
And S103, when the second server model information is received, updating the first server model information by using the second server model information so as to execute complete starting operation according to the updated first server model information.
When the server model information issued by the management device is received, the baseboard management controller can update the server model information in the storage device by using the baseboard management controller so as to execute complete starting operation according to the updated server model information in the storage device.
It is understood that the management device may remotely issue server model information to the baseboard management controller via a network. Specifically, the management apparatus may determine a communication address (e.g., an IP address) of the baseboard management controller in advance, and issue server model information to the controller based on the communication address. It should be noted that, the embodiment of the present invention is not limited to the communication protocol used by the management device and the baseboard management controller, for example, the communication protocol may be an IPMI protocol (Intelligent Platform Management Interface ), a redfish protocol, a restful protocol, and the like, and may be set according to practical application requirements, where the redfish and the restful are common communication protocols. Furthermore, the management device can write the server model information into the communication message according to the communication protocol, and send the communication message to the baseboard management controller; the baseboard management controller can take out the server model information from the communication message according to the communication protocol, and perform relevant updating operation.
Based on this, waiting for the management apparatus to input the second server model information may include:
step 31: waiting for receiving a communication message input by the management equipment; the communication message comprises second server model information;
correspondingly, updating the first server model information with the second server model information includes:
step 32: and extracting the second server model information from the communication message according to the communication protocol, and updating the first server model information by using the second server model information.
Further, the baseboard management controller needs to perform a restart to switch to the full startup state after completing the server model information update, since it is still in the minimum startup state.
Based on this, performing a complete startup operation according to the updated first server model information may include:
step 41: executing restarting operation when the updating of the first server model information is completed, and re-determining whether the updated first server model information is valid or not;
step 42: and when the updated first server model information is determined to be effective, loading a corresponding starting file according to the updated first server model information so as to complete the complete starting operation.
Further, it should be noted that since steps S101 to S103 all occur during the start-up of the baseboard management controller, the above steps may also be performed by a boot program (u-boot) in the baseboard management controller, which is used to guide the baseboard management controller to perform the correct start-up procedure and load the correct start-up file.
Based on the above embodiment, when the baseboard management controller in the present invention detects the power-on start, it may first determine whether the first server model information in the storage device is valid; when the configuration information is determined to be invalid, the baseboard management controller may perform a minimum start-up operation, that is, provide only the most basic functions required for configuring the baseboard management controller to the outside, and wait for the second server model information input by the management device; when the second server model information is received, the baseboard management controller may update the first server model information using the second server model information, thereby performing a complete startup operation according to the updated first server model information. In other words, the baseboard management controller of the present invention can store the second server model information in the storage device, and can provide the function of updating and modifying the second server model information, thereby improving the flexibility of configuring the second server model information.
Based on the above embodiments, the following describes in detail the implementation of the management apparatus side. Referring to fig. 2, fig. 2 is a flowchart of another start control method provided in an embodiment of the present invention, where the method is applied to a management device, and may include:
s201, determining the baseboard management controller in the minimum starting state.
The management apparatus generally manages a plurality of baseboard management controllers at the same time, so it first needs to determine the baseboard management controller in a minimized startup state, and thus issue server model information thereto. For ease of querying, the baseboard management controller may provide a startup state query interface and may return a corresponding state value to the management device in accordance with the current startup state, e.g., may return a state value to the management device that indicates a minimized startup state. Furthermore, the management device can quickly determine the baseboard management controller in the minimum start-up state only according to the state value returned by the baseboard management controller.
Based on this, determining the baseboard management controller in the minimized startup state may include:
step 51: sending a starting state query request to a target baseboard management controller, and judging whether a state value returned by the target baseboard management controller represents a minimized starting state or not; if so, go to step 52; if not, sending a starting state query request to the next target baseboard management controller;
step 52: the target baseboard management controller is determined to be the baseboard management controller in the minimum startup state.
S202, determining server model information of a server to which the baseboard management controller belongs.
Specifically, the management device may pre-store a correspondence between each baseboard management controller and server model information, and may further issue corresponding server model information to the controller according to the correspondence.
And S203, the server model information is sent to the baseboard management controller, so that the baseboard management controller updates the server model information in the storage device by using the server model information sent by the management device, and executes complete starting operation according to the updated server model information.
In order to facilitate information distribution, the management device may remotely distribute server model information to the baseboard management controller via a network. Specifically, the management device may preset the report Wen Moban according to the requirements of communication protocols such as IPMI protocol, redfish protocol, restful protocol, etc., and further write the server model information into a corresponding preset message template to form a communication message, so that the server model information is issued to the baseboard management controller by sending the communication message to the controller. It will be appreciated that the management device may pre-determine a communication address (e.g., IP address) of the baseboard management controller and issue server model information to the controller based on the communication address.
Based on this, transmitting the server model information to the baseboard management controller may include:
step 61: determining a communication address and a communication protocol of the baseboard management controller;
step 62: acquiring a preset message Wen Moban corresponding to a communication protocol, and filling the server model information into a preset message template to obtain a communication message;
step 63: and sending the communication message to the baseboard management controller according to the communication address.
Based on the above-described embodiments, the management apparatus in the present invention can first determine the baseboard management controller in the minimum startup state, such controller not being provided with valid server model information; then, the management device may query the server model information corresponding to the server to which the controller belongs, and issue the information to the controller, so that the controller updates the server model information in the storage device by using the received server model information, thereby executing the complete startup operation according to the updated server model information. In other words, the baseboard management controller of the present invention can store the second server model information in the storage device, and can provide the function of updating and modifying the second server model information, thereby improving the flexibility of configuring the second server model information.
The starting control device, the baseboard management controller, the management device and the computer readable storage medium provided in the embodiments of the present invention are described below, and the starting control device, the baseboard management controller, the management device and the computer readable storage medium described below and the starting control method described above may be referred to correspondingly.
