Description
Cross Reference to Related Applications
The priority of the russian federal patent application entitled "toothbrush with removable head" was filed 31/08/2020, application number 2020128750, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.
Technical Field
The proposed technical solution relates to health and hygiene necessities and more particularly to toothbrushes.
Background
A toothbrush is known, see russian patent No. 2039487, month 07, 20, 1995. Such toothbrushes comprise a handle, a neck, a head with holes for mounting a brush head (replaceable bristle holders) and means for attachment of the bristle holders. In addition, the means for attaching the bristle carrier consists of an additional handle, neck and head (which have grooves and/or holes for receiving the bristle carrier) connected to the main handle, neck and head, with the bristles of the replaceable bristle carrier being located in the holes of the head. The disadvantage of this solution is low reliability and hygiene, since the connecting element of the handle and the additional handle quickly wears away, while bacteria accumulate in the cavity between the handle and the additional handle.
The most relevant technical solution is a toothbrush, see russian patent No. 2334445, 09, 27 of 2008. Such toothbrushes include a handle, a head, and a removable attachment connected to the head-a block with side retaining protrusions. The block includes upper and lower surfaces and a plurality of holes located between the surfaces. Bundles of bristle fibers pass through the holes and the lower ends of the fibers are melted to form a bristle coating at least partially covering the lower surface. The lower surface of the block is located at a distance from the head and a cavity is formed between the block and the head. The block is made of a hard plastic material and a soft plastic material, and when used for its intended purpose, the block can be partly elastically deformed towards the head to obtain a spatial shape different from a plane. The disadvantage of this solution is that it is difficult to extract the blocks and the reliability of the fastening is low, since over time the detachable connection will wear away due to frequent removal of the blocks.
Disclosure of Invention
The proposed solution eliminates the above drawbacks.
The technical result is a simplified extraction and an improved reliability of the fixing of the detachable accessory in the handle of the toothbrush.
The technical result is achieved due to: a toothbrush with a removable adjunct includes a body having a longitudinal recess and a removable adjunct with a bundle of bristle fibers secured thereto is disposed in the longitudinal recess. In addition, the body is made in the form of a flat elongated body and comprises two parts: a main portion having a central longitudinal bore and a locking portion that enters and is secured in the central longitudinal bore of the main portion. The edges of the base of the detachable accessory are beveled in the longitudinal direction. In addition, a protrusion is made in a central portion on a lateral vertical wall of the groove farthest from the center of the toothbrush, and a recess corresponding to the protrusion of the groove is made on the lateral vertical wall of the detachable accessory. Furthermore, a longitudinal hole is made in the detachable accessory for the entry of the end portion of the locking portion of the body.
The body is made in the form of an elongated parallelepiped with a small height in which its end small vertical face is semicircular in cross section.
Moreover, above the beveled base of the removable accessory closest to the center of the toothbrush, there is a platform without bristle bundles.
The lower corner of the base wall of the detachable accessory may be rounded (a rounded diameter of 1mm to 1.4mm, which would result in an intersection with the hole). This rounding parameter was confirmed during studies conducted in subsequent experiments, which showed that evenly rounding the lower corners with this parameter enabled one to easily remove the replaceable base with bristles from the handle. Alternatively, the edges of the removable accessory mount may be beveled in the longitudinal direction at an acute angle.
The junction of the main portion and the locking portion fixed in the main portion of the body may be made to be inclined at an acute angle.
Further, the locking portion includes a protrusion, and the main portion includes a recess corresponding to the protrusion of the locking portion, and a longitudinal groove for elastic connection and fixation of the protrusion and the recess to each other is made in the locking portion closer to the protrusion.

Detailed Description
The essence of the toothbrush is provided.
The proposed toothbrush with detachable attachment comprises: the toothbrush body, which is made in the form of a flat elongated body, consisting of a main part and a locking part (see fig. 7), the end of the toothbrush body is semicircular in horizontal section, i.e. the toothbrush body is in shape of an elongated parallelepiped with a small height, the end small vertical face of which is semicircular in cross section. In addition, a closed longitudinal groove (see fig. 4) identical in shape to the toothbrush body but much shorter in length is made in one end portion of the toothbrush body, the small side of the end of which is a semicircular groove. In principle, the longitudinal grooves themselves may be of different shapes, for example, only rectangular. In the above groove, a protrusion 5 is made in a central portion of the groove closest to the transverse vertical wall of the brush. This projection 5 serves to retain the removable appendage mounted in the closed longitudinal groove (see fig. 1 to 3) and corresponds to the recess 2 made on the transverse vertical (end) wall of the removable appendage.
The detachable accessory is as shown in fig. 1 to 3, and is one of the following bodies: the lower part of the body corresponds in shape to the closed longitudinal groove (keyway) of the toothbrush body into which it is actually inserted, i.e. in fact this is a parallelepiped with a flat base in which the end portion 3 is beveled or rounded at an acute angle, and the upper part is a bundle of bristle fibres (not shown in the figures) protruding above the toothbrush body, which are inserted into the holes 1 and which are fixed in the detachable accessory in any known manner. Furthermore, a blind hole 4 (which may not be a blind hole but extend through the entire detachable accessory) is made in a lateral vertical wall (end face) of the detachable accessory located opposite to the wall having the recess 2, and an end portion 7 of the locking portion of the body is inserted into the blind hole 4 and fixes the detachable accessory.
In addition, in order to quickly and conveniently remove the detachable accessory from the toothbrush body (when the locking part 7 is removed), the base of the detachable accessory should be beveled at an acute angle (or along a radius, fig. 2) with respect to the end side of the detachable accessory closer to the center of the toothbrush body. And this angle is about 6 deg. to 12 deg. relative to the toothbrush base. Preferably there should be a flat area above the beveled base 3 (see fig. 1, 3) where the detachable accessory is removed when pressed. For easy removal of the removable accessory, the opposite side of the beveled base (the end closest to the toothbrush body) should also be beveled, see fig. 2.
The locking portion of the body (see fig. 6, 7) is inserted into the central longitudinal hole 6 of the main portion of the body (see fig. 4, 7), said locking portion being firmly fixed in the central longitudinal hole 6. In this case, the fixing can be performed with a tight fit and by means of the fixing member 8 to the fixing member 10. Thus, for example, as shown in fig. 7, the junction of the main portion and the locking portion is made to be inclined at an angle, and the main portion has a recess 10 thereon, and the locking portion has a protrusion 9 corresponding to the recess 10. When the locking portion of the body is inserted into the central longitudinal bore 6 of the main portion, the protrusion 9 enters the recess 10 and is fixed in the recess 10. Also, in order to reduce the wear of the protrusions 9 of the locking portion, longitudinal grooves 8 are made in the locking portion, the longitudinal grooves 8 make the walls of the locking portion bend inwards, and the protrusions 9 easily enter the recesses 10 of the main portion.
The body of the toothbrush may be molded from hard antimicrobial plastic while the detachable head is molded from flexible antimicrobial plastic and vice versa.
The proposed accessory is removed in the following manner. The user removes the locking portion of the body from the main portion so that the protrusion 9 enters the interior of the locking portion of the body formed by the recess 8 and leaves the recess 10 of the main portion. The user then presses on the platform which causes the beveled side 3 of the attachment to move to the base of the recess of the main part of the toothbrush body. Thereafter, the user need only remove the accessory from the projection 5 of the main portion of the toothbrush body. The detachable head is fixed to the toothbrush body by the following steps:
the user aligns the end recess 2 of the removable accessory with the protrusion 5, the protrusion 5 being made in a central portion in the lateral vertical wall closest to the edge of the brush, and
inserting the appendage into a longitudinal groove of the body (more precisely, into a longitudinal groove of the main portion of the body),
the locking part of the body is then taken and inserted into the longitudinal hole 6 of the main part of the body, the accessory being secured by letting the end part 7 of the locking part of the body enter the longitudinal hole 4 of the detachable accessory, and the locking part of the body being secured in the main part by letting the protrusion 9 enter the interior of the locking part of the body formed by the groove 8 and further deforming the locking part when the protrusion 9 enters the recess 10 of the main part.
The provided toothbrush is reliable and easy to use. The replaceable head allows for a longer service life of the toothbrush. In addition, the user may use attachments having bristles of different stiffness and different shape. An important factor is that this technique can significantly reduce the amount of plastic consumed, since only the replaceable accessory needs to be recycled instead of the whole product.
