In the embodiment of the application, the network device may control the second terminal to execute one or more tasks of the first terminal according to the request of the first terminal, so that the first terminal of the second terminal executes one or more tasks. Therefore, by utilizing the scheme of the embodiment of the application, the coordination of the capacities of the multiple terminals is realized, so that the influence on the power consumption, storage and the like of the current terminal is reduced.
Referring to fig. 4, fig. 4 is a flowchart of a task offloading method according to an embodiment of the present application, including:
step 401, the first terminal discovers the second terminal. The first terminal may discover the second terminal through a sidelink interface between the terminals, e.g., based on a PC5-D discovery message.
Step 402, the first terminal knows the wireless capability of the second terminal.
Step 403, the first terminal sends a task offloading request to the second terminal, for requesting the second terminal to complete one or more tasks, where the tasks include one or more of the following:
measurement, MDT, AI task, positioning, storage.
Step 404, the network device performs terminal association.
When the second terminal is in an idle state, the first terminal triggers the second terminal to initiate an RRC (Radio Resource Control ) connection and terminal association procedure. When the second terminal is in a connection state, the first terminal or the second terminal triggers a terminal association process.
In this process, the network device allocates a second terminal identifier and/or an association identifier to the second terminal, and sends the second terminal identifier and/or the association identifier to the first terminal or the second terminal.
Step 405, the second terminal sends a task offloading confirmation message to the first terminal.
The second terminal informs the second terminal identification and/or the terminal association identification to the first terminal through a task unloading confirmation message, and the message can also carry a supported unloading task list.
Step 406, the first terminal sends a task offloading request to the network device, requesting the network device to offload the first task to the second terminal.
The first terminal sends a task unloading request to the network equipment, wherein the task unloading request carries a first terminal identifier, an association identifier, a task identifier and the like. Specifically, the following information may also be carried:
for measurement task offloading: the task offloading request may also carry a measurement identity (e.g. requesting the second terminal to offload part measurements), an indication of whether the measurement result was uploaded by the second terminal, whether the measurement result needs to be returned to the first terminal.
For positioning task offloading: the task offloading request may also carry positioning method requirements, positioning accuracy requirements, positioning time requirements, positioning notification (i.e. the first terminal needs to be notified when the base station initiates positioning to the second terminal), an indication of whether to report the position estimate by the second terminal, whether the measurement result or the position estimate needs to be returned to the first terminal.
For MDT task offloading: the task offloading request may also carry an indication of whether to offload a logged MDT, an indication of whether to offload an immediate MDT, an offloading time range, an offloading area range, an indication of which RATs to offload an MDT, an indication of whether to report an MDT measurement result through the second terminal, and whether the MDT measurement result needs to be returned to the first terminal;
For AI task offloading: the task unloading request may also carry an indication of whether the AI task execution result is reported by the second terminal, and whether the AI task execution result needs to be returned to the first terminal.
Step 407, the network device sends a task offloading confirmation message to the first terminal.
The task unloading confirmation message may carry information such as identification and configuration of the network device for confirming the unloaded task. The network device then controls the second device to perform the task of the first terminal requesting offloading to the second terminal.
As shown in fig. 5, the process of knowing the wireless capability of the second terminal by the first terminal may include:
step 501, the first terminal sends a wireless capability request to the second terminal, where the request message carries an indication of the wireless capability requested by the first terminal, and may include:
requesting a capability indication of the second terminal corresponding to the specific RAT, requesting an MDT capability indication of the second terminal, requesting a measurement capability indication of the second terminal, requesting a calculation capability indication of the second terminal, requesting a storage capability indication of the second terminal, requesting a positioning capability indication of the second terminal;
step 502, the second terminal returns a corresponding wireless capability response to the wireless capability indication carried by the request message.
In step 403, the first terminal sends its terminal identifier (such as C-RNTI) and a terminal association indication to the second terminal through the sidelink interface by the task offloading request, and in addition, the first terminal may also carry a task list for requesting offloading. As shown in fig. 6, the triggering, by the first terminal, the second terminal to initiate the RRC connection and terminal association procedure may include:
step 601, the second terminal initiates an RRC connection establishment request to the network device, where the request carries a terminal identifier of the first terminal and may also carry an RRC connection establishment cause value (e.g., a cause value indicating that other terminals assist in completing tasks);
step 602, the network device establishes RRC connection with the second terminal, and allocates a second terminal identifier and/or an association identifier to the second terminal, so as to instruct the second terminal to complete terminal association. The association identifier is an identifier which is reassigned by the network equipment for the first terminal and the second terminal and is used for indicating the association relationship between the first terminal and the second terminal.
Step 603, when the RRC connection establishment is completed, the second terminal sends an RRC connection establishment completion message to the network device.
Then, in step 405, the second terminal informs the first terminal of the second terminal identifier and/or the terminal association identifier through a task offloading confirmation message, where the message may also carry a supported offloading task list.
In the embodiment of the present application, in step 404, the first terminal may also trigger the network device to associate the first terminal with the second terminal. Specifically, the first terminal may send a request to the network device, where the request is used to request the network device to associate the first terminal with the second terminal. And then, the network equipment distributes a second terminal identifier and/or an associated identifier for the second terminal and sends the second terminal identifier and/or the associated identifier to the first terminal, and correspondingly, the first terminal acquires the second terminal identifier and/or the associated identifier.
In practical application, in the current positioning process, considering that the NB-IoT (Narrow Band Internet of Things ) terminal is limited in capability, positioning measurement cannot be well supported in a connected state, and accordingly, accurate positioning estimation cannot be obtained, so that the NB-IoT terminal is required to enter an idle state to perform positioning measurement. In the NB-IoT positioning scenario, in combination with the above embodiments, positioning measurements may be performed with a normal terminal. Specifically, in the above embodiment, the first terminal may be an NB-IoT UE and the second terminal may be a normal terminal. The NB-IoT UE (first terminal) requests the normal terminal (second terminal) to perform positioning measurement for it through the task offload request message, and returns the positioning result to the NB-IoT UE (first terminal).
The minimization of drive test is one of the important means for evaluating the network quality of the mobile communication operator, can reflect specific network conditions, and provides important basis for developing network optimization (such as coverage optimization, mobility management optimization, capacity optimization, qoS (Quality of Service, quality of service) parameter optimization and the like). In order to solve the problem that the idle state MDT occupies the terminal memory, in the embodiment of the application, the first terminal stores data to be stored into the second terminal with larger storage space, and reports the measurement result to the network device when the second terminal enters the connection state. In order to solve the problem of high power consumption of the terminal, in the embodiment of the application, the first terminal with the power saving requirement unloads the MDT task to the second terminal, so that the first terminal is prevented from consuming excessive power. Wherein the interaction procedure of the first terminal and the second terminal may refer to the procedure described in the above embodiments.
In the above embodiment, by offloading the task of the terminal to other peripheral trusted terminals, the influence on the power consumption, storage and the like of the current terminal is reduced, uplink coverage can be improved, throughput is improved, and multi-terminal capability coordination is realized.
