However, the present invention is applicable to any machine capable of providing game elements.
< composition of game System >
Fig. 1 is a diagram showing a system configuration of a game system according to the present embodiment. As shown in the drawing, the game system is configured to enable communication between the server 200 and each of 1 or more game devices 100 via the network 300.
In the present embodiment, with such a system configuration, a match-up game between players using a plurality of game devices 100 can be realized via the server 200 and the network 300. The game that provides the game experience in the game device 100 is not limited to the battle game between players, and includes a game configured for use by a single person.
The game device 100 of the present embodiment has an external appearance as shown in the drawing. The game device 100 is configured to be able to detect payment in a usable state, and to provide a service of providing a game experience to a user (player) when payment is detected, and includes providing at least 1 game element. For example, payment is detected by inserting a predetermined number of coins into a deposit port, not shown.
In addition, a placement unit 130 is provided in the external appearance of the game device 100, and a designation card including a player card for identifying a player can be placed on the placement unit 130. As will be described in detail later, when the player uses the game device 100, the player can play the game while the progress of the player is reflected by placing the player card on the placement portion 130. The progress of the player is managed in the server 200, and when the player is recognized when using the game device 100, that is, when the game experience is provided in a state where which player is recognized, the information managed for each player is updated.
Functional constitution of game device
Fig. 2 is a block diagram showing a functional configuration of the game device 100 according to the present embodiment.
The control Unit 101 is, for example, a CPU (Central Processing Unit) and controls the operation of each functional module included in the game device 100. Specifically, the control unit 101 reads out an operation program of each functional module recorded in the storage device 102, for example, and develops the program into the memory 103 to execute the program, thereby realizing the operation of each functional module.
The storage device 102 is a recording device capable of permanently storing data, such as a nonvolatile memory or an HDD (Hard Disk Drive). The storage device 102 stores, in addition to the operation programs of the function modules included in the game device 100, information on parameters necessary for the operation of the function modules, various kinds of graphic data used in a game executed by the game device 100, and the like. The memory 103 is a storage device for temporary data storage such as a volatile memory. The memory 103 is used not only as an expansion area for the operation program of each module, but also as a storage area for temporarily storing data and the like output during the operation of each module.
The payout detecting unit 104 detects that a payout is made in the game apparatus 100. The payment can be determined by detecting, for example, that a coin of a predetermined amount or a coin of the same value is inserted into the slot of the game apparatus 100, or that a settlement process based on communication with a chip relating to a predetermined electronic money is completed. The game device 100 of the present embodiment is described as starting to provide a service, including providing a game experience, after a payment related to the start of providing the service is made.
The acquisition unit 105 is an interface for acquiring information from a card provided in the game device 100 of the present embodiment. Specifically, the acquisition unit 105 includes a reader configured to acquire information attached to a card placed on the placement unit 130. The cards that can be used in the game device 100 (information can be acquired by the acquisition section 105) include a player card for identifying player information when the game device 100 is used. The game device 100 according to the present embodiment is configured to store the progress of the game of the player, and can resume from the stored progress when used next time. Therefore, at least identification information (player ID (identifier): identification information of the player) capable of uniquely identifying the player is attached to the player card. The player can receive service provision in a state in which the progress of the past use is reflected by placing the player card on the placing unit 130 and causing the obtaining unit 105 to obtain the information. Here, the progress includes, for example, an evaluation value of a player related to a game such as an experience value, a level, and a grade, or information on an interesting element that increases or expands with repeated use of the game device 100, such as information on an interesting element provided to the player at a stage such as a function unlock state or a provision state of a game element. The progress also includes information on an interesting element that is temporarily provided to the player, such as information on a game element (equipment or skill) that can be used in the next and subsequent games.
Further, in the present embodiment, it is described that a player is identified by acquiring information from a player card, but the method of identifying a player is not limited to this. For example, the information may be acquired from an item other than the player card by the acquisition unit 105 to be recognized, or the process of recognizing the player through another device may be used instead.
The provision control unit 106 controls the provision of game elements to the player when the game device 100 is used. It is described that the game elements provided by the game device 100 of the present embodiment are intangibles that are directly reflected in the progress of the game. The provision control unit 106 performs provision control so as to provide 1 game element to the player each time the game device 100 is used. There are various game elements provided by the provision control unit 106, and information of each game element is managed in a provision element DB (database) 107 described below.
The provided element DB107 is a database that manages information (element information) related to each of a plurality of kinds of game elements that can be provided to players. As shown in fig. 8 (a), for example, element information for managing 1 type of game elements is associated with an element ID801 uniquely specifying the game element, and includes default provided number information 802 indicating the number of times the game element is provided, effect information 803 describing the effect generated when the game element is provided, and a provided image 804 displayed when the game element is provided.
As will be described in detail later, in the game system of the present embodiment, as long as a player uses the game device 100 a predetermined number of times, all kinds of game elements managed in the providing element DB107 are provided to the player so as to ensure fairness among players. The order of provision of the game elements is predetermined, and the default provision-number information 802 specifies which of the provision numbers the provision elements are provided in. In addition, the effect produced by the game element described in the produced effect information 803 defines a change that occurs in the progress of the player in the case where the game element is provided. Alternatively, the generated effect information 803 may describe an effect generated when a game element is used after the game element is provided. The image 804 at the time of provision may be an appearance assigned to each game element or a two-dimensional image including text corresponding to the effect information 803 relating to the game element.
The presentation control unit 108 is responsible for controlling presentation of various information to the player via the presentation unit 120 in the game device 100. In the present embodiment, it is described that the presentation unit 120 for realizing information presentation is a display device capable of presenting visual information, such as a liquid crystal display, for example, which displays images (game screen, menu screen, and the like). However, the means for presenting information is not limited to this, and other means may be added instead of the display device or as a matter of course. The presentation unit 120 may include, for example, a speaker for presenting auditory information.
In the case where the presentation Unit 120 is a display device, the presentation control Unit 108 includes a drawing device such as a GPU (graphics Processing Unit), for example, and performs a predetermined drawing process to generate a screen to be displayed on the presentation Unit 120. Specifically, the presentation control unit 108 executes necessary arithmetic processing on a necessary drawing object (graphic data) based on processing or a command performed by the control unit 101 during startup (during service provision or in a standby state) of the game device 100, and draws a screen. The generated screen is output to the presentation unit 120, and is displayed in the designated display area, thereby presenting the screen to the player.
The operation input unit 109 is a user interface provided in the game device 100, and includes, for example, an operation member for inputting a decision, various sensors, and the like. When the operation input unit 109 detects an operation input to the operation member, it outputs a control signal corresponding to the operation input to the control unit 101. In addition, in a configuration in which the operation input unit 109 can detect a touch input performed on the display screen by the presentation unit 120, the operation input unit may include a touch input detection sensor or the like.
The communication unit 110 is an interface of the game device 100 for communicating with an external device. The communication unit 110 is connected to an external device via a network 300 (whether wired or wireless) to transmit and receive data, and the network 300 may be a communication network such as the internet or a cable connecting devices. The communication unit 110 converts information input as a transmission target into data of a predetermined format, for example, and transmits the data to an external device such as the server 200 via the network 300. Further, when receiving information from an external device via the network 300, for example, the communication unit 110 decodes the information and stores the information in the memory 103. In the present embodiment, the game device 100 transmits and receives information via the communication unit 110 at least when providing a service reflecting the progress of the player.
< construction of Server >
Next, the functional configuration of the server 200 according to the present embodiment will be described with reference to the block diagram of fig. 3. In the description of the functional configuration of the server 200, a configuration that realizes the same function as that of the game device 100 is denoted by a prefix of "server" and is distinguished from the configuration of the game device 100.
The server control unit 201 is, for example, a CPU, and controls the operation of each functional module included in the server 200. Specifically, the server control unit 201 reads out an operation program of each function module recorded in the server storage device 202, for example, and develops the program into the server memory 203 to execute the program, thereby controlling the operation of each function module.
The server storage device 202 is a recording device capable of permanently storing data, such as a nonvolatile memory or an HDD. The server storage device 202 stores information such as parameters necessary for the operation of each function module, in addition to the operation program of each function module included in the server 200. The server memory 203 is a storage device for temporary data storage such as a volatile memory. The server memory 203 is used not only as an expansion area for the operation program of each functional module, but also as a storage area for temporarily storing data and the like output during the operation of each functional module.
The player DB204 is a database for managing various information (player information) related to each user (player) with respect to a game that provides a game experience in the game device 100 of the game system according to the present embodiment. The player information is used as a reference when the game device 100 acquires information from a player card and provides a game experience, and may be sequentially changed according to the game experience provided.
The player information, for example, as shown in fig. 8 (b), associated with the player ID811 that is unique to a specific player, may include: setting information 812 including player-specific settings such as a display name, birth date, and avatar configuration of the player; progress information 813 indicating the progress of the game by the player; and history information 814 indicating a history of the game played by the player, a history of the use of the game device 100, and the like. Player information for a player may be registered when the player first uses the gaming device 100 with a player card. The information included in the setting information 812 may be input to the game device 100 at the time of this use, and transmitted to the server 200 to be stored.
The server communication unit 205 is an interface of the server 200 for communicating with an external device. The server communication unit 205 can be connected to an external device via a network 300 (whether wired or wireless) to transmit and receive data, and the network 300 may be a communication network such as the internet or a cable connecting devices. The server communication unit 205 converts information input as a transmission target into data of a predetermined format, for example, and transmits the data to an external device such as the game device 100 via the network 300. Further, when receiving information from an external device via the network 300, the server communication unit 205 decodes the information and stores the information in the server memory 203.
< providing an overview of game elements >
Hereinafter, an outline of providing game elements that are played when a player uses 1 time in the game device 100 of the present embodiment will be described. Since the game elements are provided to manage each player, the game device 100 is used only when the player is identified by acquiring information from at least the player card. Information on game elements provided to the player is transmitted to server 200, and is reflected in the player information of the player to be managed.
In the game device 100 of the present embodiment, after executing the game process for providing the game experience, the game elements are provided to the player. The game elements provided do not depend on the progress content of the game being executed, but are determined according to the number of times the player uses the game apparatus 100 to ensure fairness among players. For example, the game elements are selected and provided to the player in accordance with the number of times the game elements are used by the player for use of the game device 100 after the specified period for determining the provision of the game elements is started. In the present embodiment, the following configuration is described: the 7 kinds of game elements 401 to 407 are provided in order based on the default providing order (the providing contents defining the 1 st to 7 th providing times) shown in fig. 4. That is, the player can obtain all kinds of game elements by making a round of the provision of the game elements related to the default providing order. In addition, the game elements provided in the respective provided times are different, and different interesting elements are provided to the player. Therefore, the element information of these 7 game elements is managed in the providing element DB 107.
Further, after all of the 7 game elements are provided in the default provision order (that is, after the player uses the game device 100 7 times), the player does not provide any game element but provides 1 game element determined from the 7 game elements when using the game device 100. That is, in the 1 st to 7 th provided times, the game elements defined in each provided time are provided in the default provided order, whereas in the 8 th and subsequent provided times, the game elements not defined in the default provided order are provided. In this way, it is also possible to continue providing interesting elements to players who have obtained all kinds of game elements. In the present embodiment, it is described that the game elements provided in the 8 th and subsequent providing times are determined from the 7 kinds of game elements of fig. 4 by the lottery process, but the implementation of the present invention is not limited to this, and any method may be employed as long as it is not determined based on the default providing order.
Such provision of game elements not only effectively increases the number of interesting elements that a player obtains when using the game apparatus 100, but also effectively encourages the player to use the game apparatus 100 next time or later. In the present embodiment, while game elements are provided to the player in accordance with the default provision order, the game elements to be provided in the next provision order are presented in advance, so that the latter effect is further enhanced. For example, when the game element 402 related to the second order of provision is provided to the player, as shown in fig. 5, when the presentation content is the next use of the game device 100, a notification of the game element 403 related to the third order of provision is provided. In addition, when the game element 407 of the 7 th supply number is supplied, although the game element to be supplied in the 8 th supply number is not determined at this point in time, for example, a notification that any game element among the game elements 401 to 407 is to be supplied may be presented.
Here, from the viewpoint of encouraging the player to continue using the game device 100, it is preferable that, when the game device 100 is used for the first time, a game element more useful for presentation is provided in the next and subsequent providing times. Therefore, in the game system of the present embodiment, the value of the game element 401 specified to be provided for the first time when used in the game (hereinafter, referred to as the use value) is set to be lower than the game elements 402 to 407 specified to be provided for the other times. Here, the use value may be determined based on, for example, the degree of benefit (the more advantageous, the higher the use value) for the progress of the game when the game element is used.
In addition, the information presentation relating to the provision of game elements may include an information presentation indicating the number of each game element that can be provided to the player (cumulative number of provision) in order to increase the interest of the player who uses the game device 100 more frequently. The information on the cumulative offered amount for each player may be managed by being included in the progress information 813 or the history information 814 of the player information, for example.
< providing processing >
Next, a specific process performed in association with providing a service to a player (the player uses the game device 100 this time) in the game device 100 according to the present embodiment will be described with reference to a flowchart of fig. 6. The processing corresponding to this flowchart can be realized by the control unit 101 reading out a corresponding processing program stored in the storage device 102, for example, and expanding the program into the memory 103 to execute the program. Further, it is described that the present providing process is started, for example, when the payment detecting section 104 detects that payment has been made.
In S601, the control unit 101 determines whether or not the player is recognized in the present use. The determination of this step is based on whether the acquisition unit 105 acquires information from the player card within a predetermined period set for identifying the player. The control unit 101 moves the process to S602 if it determines that the player is recognized in this use, and moves the process to S603 if it determines that the player is not recognized.
In S602, the control unit 101 acquires player information corresponding to a player from the game device 100. Specifically, the control unit 101 transmits the player ID acquired from the player card to the communication unit 110, and transmits the player ID and a request for transmitting player information to the server 200. Then, the control unit 101 receives the player information corresponding to the player ID from the server 200, stores it in the memory 103, changes various parameters used this time based on the stored player information (hereinafter referred to as used player information), and advances the process to S603.
In S603, the control unit 101 executes game processing for providing a game experience. The present game processing is executed in a state in which the past progress of the game by the player is reflected when the use player information is acquired in S602. When the executed game processing ends, the control unit 101 shifts the processing to S604.
In S604, the control unit 101 determines whether or not the player is recognized. The control unit 101 moves the process to S605 when determining that the player is recognized, and ends the game process when determining that the player is not recognized.
In S605, the control unit 101 executes an element providing process related to providing a game element.
< element providing processing >
Here, the element providing process executed by the game device 100 of the present embodiment will be described in detail with reference to the flowchart of fig. 7.
In S701, the control unit 101 derives that the present game element is provided to the player the second time. Specifically, the control unit 101 refers to the information on the cumulative number of times of providing included in the history information 814 using the player information, for example, and increments the information on the cumulative number of times of providing (+ 1 time), thereby deriving the number of times of providing N corresponding to the provision of the game element of this time.
In S702, the control unit 101 determines whether the number of times of providing N derived in S701 is larger than the total number of game elements defined in the default order of providing. In the present embodiment, as shown in fig. 4, since 7 kinds of game elements are provided as the default providing order, the control unit 101 determines in this step whether the number of times N of provision exceeds 7, that is, whether the number of times of provision of the game element at this time belongs to the 8 th and subsequent times of provision. The control unit 101 moves the process to S705 when determining that the number of times N of providing is greater than the total number of game elements defined in the default providing order, and moves the process to S703 when determining that the number of times N of providing is not greater than the total number.
In S703, the providing element DB107 provides the player with game elements specified in the corresponding number of times of providing in the default order of providing (the default number-of-providing-times information 802 of the element information is a game element of the number of times of providing N), under the control of the control unit 101. Providing the game elements to the player can be realized by changing the progress information 813 using the player information. For example, when the number of times of provision N is 2, the provision element DB107 performs control so as to provide the player with the game element 402 specified in the 2 nd time of the default provision order. At this time, the control unit 101 updates the used player information to the following state: the effect described for the game element 402 is reflected in the effect generation information 803 of the element information (hereinafter referred to as object element information) managed by the providing element DB 107. The presentation control unit 108 causes the presentation unit 120 to present the presentation-time image related to the game element that is presented this time under the control of the control unit 101. For example, when the number of times of providing N is 2, the presentation control unit 108 causes the presentation unit 120 to present the providing-time image 804 of the element information in which the default number-of-providing-times information 802 is 2 as the information of the game element provided this time.
In S704, the presentation control unit 108 causes the presentation unit 120 to present the presentation-time image related to the game element to be presented in the next presentation time under the control of the control unit 101, and ends the present presentation process. When the number of times of provision N is 6 or less, the presentation control unit 108 causes the presentation unit 120 to present the provision-time image 804 in which the default number of times of provision information 802 is the element information of the number of times of provision N +1 as information of a game element to be provided next time the game device 100 is used. When the number of times of provision N is 7, the presentation control unit 108 causes the presentation unit 120 to present a notification that any game element whose content is the managed element information in the provision element DB107 is to be provided next time.
On the other hand, in the case where it is determined in S702 that the number of times of providing N is larger than the total number of game elements specified in the default providing order, the providing element DB107 executes lottery processing for determining game elements to be provided in S705 under the control of the control section 101. That is, the providing element DB107 selects 1 game element from the 7 kinds of game elements 401 to 407 shown in fig. 4 by lottery processing, and determines it as the game element provided this time.
In S706, the provision element DB107 provides the player with game elements corresponding to the lottery result of S705 under the control of the control section 101.
In this way, according to the game device of the present embodiment, it is possible to maintain the interest of the player while ensuring fairness among players.
[ variation 1]
In the embodiment, it is described that, in the case where game elements are provided based on the default provision order, a notification indicating the game elements provided next time the game apparatus 100 is used is presented, but the implementation of the present invention is not limited to this. For example, instead of such a notification, or in addition to such a notification, it may be controlled to present information indicating a default provision order (which provision order is defined in turn) as shown in fig. 4, and information indicating which game element is provided in each provision order of the provision order. In this way, the player can be guided not only to use the game apparatus 100 next time, but also to use the game apparatus 100 according to the number of times of provision specified in the default provision order.
[ variation 2]
In the above-described embodiment and modification, the description has been made of a configuration in which 1 game element out of the game elements specified in the default provision order is selected by executing the lottery process after the provision of the game elements by the number of times specified in the default provision order is completed, but the implementation of the present invention is not limited to this. That is, the present invention may be configured so that, after the game elements are provided a number of times specified in the default provision order, the game elements are not selected to be provided based on the default provision order, and may be selected based on, for example, the reverse order of the default provision order or a different provision order determined separately from the default provision order.
[ variation 3]
In the above-described embodiment and modification, the description has been made of the mode in which 1 game element out of the game elements specified in the default providing order is provided after the game elements are provided the number of times specified in the default providing order is completed, but the practice of the present invention is not limited to this. For example, in the next supply time after the supply of the game elements by the number of times specified in the default supply order is completed, a different game element (hereinafter, referred to as a special game element) not specified in the default supply order may be supplied. Further, when the game elements are provided a predetermined number of times (7 th time) in the default providing order, a notification that the special game elements are provided the next time (8 th time) the game device 100 is used may be presented. Alternatively, the control may be performed so as to present information indicating the default provision order, information indicating which game element is provided in each provision order of the default provision order, and information indicating that the special game element is to be provided after all the game elements defined in the default provision order are provided, until at least the provision of the game elements a predetermined number of times in the default provision order is completed.
Here, by making the use value of the special game element higher than any game element defined in the default provision order, the player can be appropriately guided to use the game device 100 8 times. Further, the provision of the special game elements may also be limited to only 1 time for each player to ensure fairness among players. Or special game elements can be provided at specified time intervals to give more preferential treatment to players who use more times.
In addition, in the present modification, the description has been made of the case where the special game elements are provided the next time the game device 100 is used after the game elements are provided the number of times specified in the default provision order, but the implementation of the present invention is not limited to this, and for example, the special game elements may be additionally provided when the game elements are provided the number of times specified in the default provision order, and any game element specified in the default provision order may be provided the next time the game device 100 is used, as in the above-described embodiment.
[ variation 4]
In the embodiment and the modification, it is described that the game element provided is a intangible object, but the practice of the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, in a form in which the game device 100 can provide a tangible object such as a card or a character, the game element provided may include the tangible object.
[ other embodiments ]
The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various changes and modifications can be made within the scope of the present invention.
