The ironing apparatus 2 comprises a base 3, which base 3 is intended to rest stably on a horizontal support, and an ironing head 4, which ironing head 4 is supported by the base 3 and comprises a treatment surface 5, on which treatment surface 5 the garment to be ironed is intended to rest when the ironing apparatus 2 rests on the base 3.
The ironing device 2 is configured such that ironing of garments to be ironed is performed by manually applying the garments to be ironed onto the treatment surface 5 and sliding (e.g. moving back and forth) the garments to be ironed on the treatment surface 5.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the base 3 has a substantially square profile, and the ironing head 4 and the treatment surface 5 each have a substantially triangular profile. Advantageously, the vertex of each substantially triangular profile of the ironing head 4 and of the treatment surface 5 faces the back of the ironing apparatus 2. The treatment surface 5 may be substantially flat or arcuate.
As shown more particularly in fig. 1 to 3, the ironing head 4 is protrudingly provided on the base 3. Advantageously, the base 3 has a base body 6, on which the ironing head 4 rests, and the base body 6 converges in the direction of the ironing head 4, so that the ironing head 4 projects laterally from the base body 6. This configuration of the ironing head 4 allows the shoulders of a shirt to be ironed to easily bypass the ironing head 4.
The ironing device 2 may, for example, have a height of between 20 and 40cm, and when the base 3 rests on a horizontal support, the treatment surface 5 may advantageously be more than 20cm from the bearing surface of the horizontal support.
The ironing head 4 may for example have a maximum width of between 10 and 35cm, and is advantageously of the order of 20cm, and the base 3 may for example have a maximum width of between 15 and 40cm, and advantageously about 30cm.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the centre of gravity of the ironing head 4 and the centre of gravity of the base 3 are substantially aligned along a vertical axis when the base 3 rests on a horizontal support.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the ironing head 4 is inclined towards the front of the ironing apparatus 2 and extends substantially in an extension plane Pe (see fig. 3) which is inclined with respect to the horizontal plane by an angle comprised between 5 ° and 45 °, preferably approximately 20 °, when the base 3 rests on the horizontal support.
Advantageously, the normal or each normal to the treatment surface 5 is facing upwards, or inclined with respect to a vertical axis towards the frontal direction of the ironing apparatus 2, at an angle of between 0 ° and 45 °, preferably about 20 °, when the base 3 rests on a horizontal support.
As shown more particularly in fig. 1 and 2, the treatment surface 5 comprises at least one steam discharge area provided with at least one steam outlet hole. According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the treatment surface 5 comprises a first steam discharge area 7.1 with a first steam outlet opening 8.1 and a second steam discharge area 7.2 with a second steam outlet opening 8.2. Advantageously, the first steam outlet opening 8.1 is arranged in the front half of the treatment surface 5 and the second steam outlet opening 8.2 is arranged in the rear half of the treatment surface 5.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the first steam outlet opening 8.1 is a first steam outlet tank and the second steam outlet opening 8.2 is a second steam outlet tank. Advantageously, the first and second steam outlet slots are aligned with each other and extend in the median plane of the treatment surface 5 and also in the median plane of the ironing head 4. The length of each of the first and second steam outlet slots may be between 7 and 15cm, for example between 8 and 12cm, and advantageously about 10cm. Advantageously, the first and second steam outlet slots each have a length substantially corresponding to the maximum width of a sleeve of a garment to be ironed.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the treatment surface 5 comprises a heating plate 9, which heating plate 9 defines the first and second vapor discharge areas 7.1, 7.2 and may be, for example, metallic. The first and second steam outlet openings 8.1, 8.2 are advantageously arranged in the heating plate 9.
The heating plate 9 is arranged in the middle of the treatment surface 5 and is spaced from the peripheral edge of the ironing head 4. Advantageously, the heating plate 9 is centred with respect to the median plane P of the treatment surface 5.
Advantageously, the ironing device 2 is configured so that, in use conditions, the treatment surface 5 has a temperature at the heating plate 9 which exceeds 110 ℃, so as to avoid the formation of condensate on the treatment surface 5.
Advantageously, the ironing head 4 comprises a heating element 10, the heating plate 9 resting on the heating element 10. More specifically, the heating element 10 is configured to heat the heating plate 9. Advantageously, the heating element 10 may incorporate a resistive heating element 10.1.
The ironing device 2 further comprises a first steam distribution circuit 11 and a second steam distribution circuit 12, the first steam distribution circuit 11 being fluidly connected to the first steam outlet opening 8.1 and configured to supply steam to the first steam outlet opening 8.1, the second steam distribution circuit 12 being fluidly connected to the second steam outlet opening 8.2 and configured to supply steam to the second steam outlet opening 8.2, the second steam distribution circuit 12 being separate from the first steam distribution circuit 11.
The ironing device 2 further comprises at least one steam generator configured to independently supply the first and second steam distribution circuits 11, 12. Advantageously, the ironing device 2 comprises a first steam generator 13 configured to supply steam to the first steam distribution circuit 11 and a second steam generator 14 configured to supply steam to the second steam distribution circuit 12. The first and second steam generators 13, 14 are provided in the base 3. However, according to an alternative embodiment of the invention, the first and second steam generators 13, 14 may be provided in the ironing head 4.
The steaming device 2 further comprises a water tank 15, for example provided in the base 3, and a supply circuit 16, the supply circuit 16 being fluidly connected to the water tank 15 and configured to supply water to the first and second steam generators 13, 14. Advantageously, the supply circuit 16 comprises a supply pump 17, the supply pump 17 being configured to supply water from the water tank 15 to the first and second steam generators 13, 14.
As shown in fig. 10, the first and second steam generators 13, 14 comprise a first instantaneous evaporation chamber 13.1 and a second instantaneous evaporation chamber 14.1, respectively, each of which is configured to supply water from the water tank 15 and each of which is configured to supply steam to the first and second steam distribution circuits 11, 12, respectively.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the first and second steam generators 13, 14 are formed by a heating body 18 comprising a first and a second instantaneous evaporation chamber 13.1, 14.1.
The heating body 18 comprises a first water injection port 19 which opens into the first instantaneous evaporation chamber 13.1 and a second water injection port 21 which opens into the second instantaneous evaporation chamber 14.1. The first and second water injection ports 19, 21 are connected to the supply circuit 16. The heating body 18 also comprises a heating resistor 22.
The heating body 18 also comprises a first vapour discharge outlet 23, fluidly connected to the first instantaneous evaporation chamber 13.1, and a second vapour discharge outlet 24, fluidly connected to the second instantaneous evaporation chamber 14.1.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the heating body 18 comprises a casting 25, in which the heating resistances 22 are integrated, and a closing plate 26 resting on the casting 25. The casting 25 and the closing plate 26 delimit the first and second flash evaporation chambers 13.1, 14.1.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the first steam distribution circuit 11 comprises a first steam flow channel 27 delimited by the heating element 10 and the heating plate 9, and a first steam conduit (not visible in the figures), for example flexible and having an internal diameter of about 5mm, which fluidly connects the first steam flow channel 27 to the first instantaneous evaporation chamber 13.1. More specifically, the first steam conduit is configured to connect the first steam outlet 23 to a first steam injection port 28, which first steam injection port 28 is provided on the heating element 10 and opens into the first steam flow channel 27.
As shown in fig. 9, the first steam flow channel 27 comprises a first steam flow portion 27.1 and a second steam flow portion 27.2, the first steam flow portion 27.1 having a plurality of baffles, the second steam flow portion 27.2 being substantially straight and opposite the first steam outlet opening 8.1. More specifically, the first steam injection port 28 opens into an upstream portion of the first steam flow channel 27.
The second steam distribution circuit 12 comprises a second steam flow channel 29 delimited by the heating element 10 and the heating plate 9, and a second steam conduit (not visible in the figures), for example flexible and having an internal diameter of about 5mm, which fluidly connects the second steam flow channel 29 to the second instantaneous evaporation chamber 14.1. More specifically, the second steam conduit is configured to connect the second steam outlet 24 to a second steam injection port 31, the second steam injection port 31 being disposed on the heating element 10 and opening into the second steam flow channel 29.
Advantageously, the second steam flow channel 29 comprises a first steam flow portion 29.1 and a second steam flow portion 29.2, the first steam flow portion 29.1 having a plurality of baffles, the second steam flow portion 29.2 being substantially straight and opposite the second steam outlet opening 8.2. More specifically, the second steam injection port 31 opens into an upstream portion of the second steam flow channel 29.
As shown in fig. 1 and 2, the treatment surface 5 also comprises at least one suction zone provided with at least one suction aperture. According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the treatment surface 5 comprises a first suction zone 32 and a second suction zone 33, which are arranged on either side of the median plane P of the treatment surface 5, more precisely on either side of the two vapor discharge zones 7.1, 7.2, and are each provided with a plurality of suction apertures.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the ironing device 2 comprises a first suction circuit 34 and a second suction circuit 36, the first suction circuit 34 being fluidly connected to a first suction aperture assembly 35 provided on the treatment surface 5, the second suction circuit 36 being separate from the first suction circuit 34 and being fluidly connected to a second suction aperture assembly 37 provided on the treatment surface 5. Advantageously, the suction orifices of the first suction orifice assembly 35 are arranged in the front half of the treatment surface 5 and the suction orifices of the second suction orifice assembly 37 are arranged in the rear half of the treatment surface 5. The spacing between the first and second assemblies 35, 37 is schematically illustrated in fig. 2 by a spacing axis S.
The ironing device 2 further comprises a first vacuum applying member configured to apply a vacuum to the first suction circuit 34, and a second vacuum applying member separate from the first vacuum applying member and configured to apply a vacuum to the second suction circuit 36. According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the first vacuum application means comprise a first electric fan 38 provided in the base 3 and the second vacuum application means comprise a second electric fan 39 also provided in the base 3.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the first suction circuit 34 comprises a pair of first suction chambers 41.1, 41.2 and a pair of first suction ducts 42.1, 42.2, the first suction chambers 41.1, 41.2 being provided in the ironing head 4 and arranged on either side of the heating plate 9, the first suction ducts 42.1, 42.2 being fluidly connected to the first vacuum application member and opening respectively into the first suction chambers 41.1, 41.2, and the second suction circuit 36 comprises a pair of second suction chambers 43.1, 43.2 and a pair of second suction ducts 44.1, 44.2, the second suction chambers 43.1, 43.2 being provided in the ironing head 4 and arranged on either side of the heating plate 9, the second suction ducts 44.1, 44.2 being fluidly connected to the second vacuum application member and opening respectively into the second suction chambers 43.1, 43.2.
Advantageously, the first suction chamber 41.1, 41.2 is arranged at the front of the ironing head 4 and the second suction chamber 43.1, 43.2 is arranged at the rear of the ironing head 4. According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the treatment surface 5 comprises (see fig. 4) two side plates 45.1, 45.2, advantageously made of plastic, always cool and without risk, arranged on either side of the heating plate 9, each of the side plates 45.1, 45.2 partially delimiting one of the first suction chambers 41.1, 41.2 and one of the second suction chambers 43.1, 43.2.

According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the first suction orifice assembly 35 comprises a first suction orifice subassembly 48 and a second suction orifice subassembly 49, which are arranged on both sides of the first vapour discharge region 7.1, more precisely on both sides of the heating plate 9, and the second suction orifice assembly 37 comprises a third suction orifice subassembly 51 and a fourth suction orifice subassembly 52, which are arranged on both sides of the second vapour discharge region 7.2, more precisely on both sides of the heating plate 9. Advantageously, the suction apertures of the first and third subassemblies 48, 51 are arranged in the side plate 45.1, and the suction apertures of the second and fourth subassemblies 49, 52 are arranged in the side plate 45.2. The suction orifice of the first subassembly 48 opens into the first suction chamber 41.1, the suction orifice of the second subassembly 49 opens into the first suction chamber 41.2, while the suction orifice of the third subassembly 51 opens into the second suction chamber 43.1 and the suction orifice of the fourth subassembly 52 opens into the second suction chamber 43.2.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the second subassembly 49 comprises a plurality of suction apertures located near and along the heating plate 9, and advantageously along the first lateral edge 9.1 of the heating plate 9, and the third subassembly 51 comprises a plurality of suction apertures located near and along the heating plate 9, and advantageously along the second lateral edge 9.2 of the heating plate 9.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the first assembly 35 also comprises a first series 53 of suction apertures provided in the heating plate 9 close to and along the first steam outlet holes 8.1, and the second suction aperture subassembly 37 comprises a second series 54 of suction apertures provided in the heating plate 9 close to and along the second steam outlet holes 8.2, 8.2. Advantageously, the suction orifices of the first series 53 are substantially aligned, as are the suction orifices of the second series 54. According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the first and second series 53, 54 are arranged on either side of a median plane P of the treatment surface 5.
The distance between the first steam outlet aperture 8.1 and each suction aperture of the first series 53 is advantageously less than 1cm, for example about 3mm, and the distance between the second steam outlet aperture 8.2 and each suction aperture of the second series 54 is also advantageously less than 1cm, for example about 3mm.
The suction orifices of the first series 53 are fluidly connected to the first suction chamber 41.1, while the suction orifices of the second series 54 are fluidly connected to the second suction chamber 43.2.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the first suction circuit 34 comprises a plurality of first connecting channels 55 and a plurality of second connecting channels 56, said plurality of first connecting channels 55 being provided on the heating element 10, and each first connecting channel 55 being configured to fluidly connect a respective suction orifice of the first series 53 with the first suction chamber 41.1, the plurality of second connection channels 56 is provided on the heating element 10, and each second connection channel 56 is configured to fluidly connect a respective suction aperture of the second series 54 with the second suction chamber 43.2.
Advantageously, the sum of the passage sections of all the suction orifices provided on the treatment surface 5 substantially corresponds to the sum of the passage sections of the first and second suction ducts 42.1, 42.2, 44.1, 44.2 and substantially corresponds to the sum of the passage sections of the first and second suction chambers 41.1, 41.2, 43.1, 43.2.
As shown in particular in fig. 7 to 9, the first suction circuit 34 further comprises a first condensate recovery device 57 configured to recover the condensate formed in the first suction circuit 34, for example in the first suction ducts 42.1, 42.2 and/or in the first suction chambers 41.1, 41.2, and the second suction circuit 36 further comprises a second condensate recovery device 58 configured to recover the condensate formed in the second suction circuit 36, for example in the second suction ducts 44.1, 44.2 and/or in the second suction chambers 43.1, 43.2.
Advantageously, each of the first and second condensate recovery devices 57, 58 is configured to re-inject the recovered condensate into the water tank 15, the water tank 15 being configured to supply water to the first and second steam generators 13, 14. To this end, the first condensate recovery means 57 comprises a first condensate recovery chamber 59 provided with a first condensate outlet 61 to the water tank 15, the second condensate recovery means 58 comprises a second condensate recovery chamber (not visible in the figures) provided with a second condensate outlet (not visible in the figures) to the water tank 15. The first and/or second condensate recovery means may advantageously comprise a filter, preferably an extractable filter, to avoid clogging of the pores and contamination of the water in the water tank by textile fibres.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the first suction circuit 34 comprises a first coupling duct 62 connecting the first suction duct 42.1, 42.2 to the first condensate recovery chamber 59, and a second coupling duct 63 connecting the first condensate recovery chamber 59 to the first vacuum application member, and the second suction circuit 36 comprises a third coupling duct 64 connecting the second suction duct 44.1, 44.2 to the second condensate recovery chamber, and a fourth coupling duct 65 connecting the second condensate recovery chamber to the second vacuum application member.
The ironing device 2 further comprises a control unit 66, which control unit 66 is particularly configured to control the operation of the first and second steam generators 13, 14, the first and second electric fans 38, 39, the heating element 10 and the supply pump 17.
A method of ironing garments to be ironed using the ironing device 2 according to the present invention will now be described. This ironing method comprises the following steps:
placing the base 3 on a stable horizontal support,
turning on the ironing device 2, for example by pressing a power button 67 provided on the base 3,
waiting until the heating plate 9 reaches a predetermined operating temperature, and possibly until the heating body 18 reaches a sufficient temperature to generate steam in the first and second steam distribution circuits 11, 12 (the ironing device 2 may for example emit a sound signal or a light signal, so as to inform the user that the ironing device 2 is ready for use,
controlling the generation of steam through the first and second steam outlet holes 8.1, 8.2, for example by pressing a steam control button 68 provided on the base 3,
automatically controlling the operation of the first and second electric fans 38, 39 so that air is sucked in through the various suction orifices provided on the treatment surface 5,
manually applying the garment to be ironed on the treatment surface 5, and
sliding the garment to be ironed back and forth over the treatment surface 5.
According to an alternative embodiment of the ironing method, the control of the operation of the first and second electric fans 38, 39 can be performed by pressing a suction control button provided on the base 3.
According to an alternative embodiment of the ironing device 2, the treating surface 5 may comprise one or more presence sensors configured to automatically detect the presence of garments to be ironed on the treating surface 5, and the control unit 66 may be configured to control the operation of the first and second steam generators 13, 14 and the first and second electrically powered fans 38, 39 based on the detection of the presence of garments on the treating surface 5.
According to another alternative embodiment, the ironing device 2 may comprise a user presence detection, for example for an energy saving mode, to activate the steam and the suction only when the user is present.
According to another alternative embodiment of the ironing device 2, the ironing device 2 may comprise a steam control pedal to be actuated by the foot of the user when the user wishes to eject steam through the first and second steam outlet openings 8.1, 8.2.
Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiments described and shown, which are provided as examples only. Modifications are possible, particularly in respect of the construction of the various elements or by substitution of equivalent techniques, without thereby departing from the scope of protection of the invention. It is therefore evident that the first and second steam generators 13, 14 may be formed by two heating bodies separate from each other.

Claims (12)

1. Ironing device (2) comprising a base (3) intended to rest stably on a horizontal support, and an ironing head (4) supported by said base (3), said ironing head (4) comprising a treatment surface (5) on which a garment to be ironed is intended to be placed, said treatment surface (5) comprising at least one steam discharge area provided with at least one steam outlet hole (8.1, 8.2), said ironing device (2) being configured such that ironing of the garment to be ironed is carried out by manually applying said garment to be ironed onto said treatment surface (5) and sliding said garment to be ironed on said treatment surface (5) while said ironing device (2) rests on said base (3), the ironing head (4) being arranged protrudingly on the base (3) and inclined towards the direction of the front face of the ironing apparatus (2), the base (3) comprising a base body (6) on which the ironing head (4) rests, characterized in that the base body (6) converges towards the direction of the ironing head (4) and the ironing head (4) protrudes laterally from the base body (6), and in that, when the base (3) rests on a horizontal support, the or each normal of the treatment surface (5) faces upwards or towards the direction of the front face of the ironing apparatus (2) with respect to a vertical axis Inclined at an angle between 0 ° and 45 °.
2. Ironing apparatus (2) according to claim 1, wherein said ironing head extends substantially in an extension plane inclined with respect to the horizontal plane by an angle comprised between 5 ° and 45 °, advantageously between 10 ° and 30 °, when said base (3) rests on a horizontal support.
3. Ironing device (2) according to any of claims 1-2, wherein the treatment surface (5) is substantially flat.
4. Ironing apparatus (2) according to any of claims 1 to 3, wherein the centre of gravity of the ironing head (4) and the centre of gravity of the base (3) are substantially aligned along a vertical axis when the base (3) rests on a horizontal support.
5. An ironing apparatus (2) according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the ironing head (4) and the treatment surface (5) each have a substantially triangular profile.
6. An ironing apparatus (2) according to claim 5, wherein the apex of each of the substantially triangular contours of the ironing head (4) and the treatment surface (5) faces the back of the ironing apparatus.
7. Ironing device (2) according to any of claims 1 to 6, wherein the treatment surface (5) comprises a heating plate (9) at least partially defining said at least one steam discharge area, at least one steam outlet aperture of said at least one steam discharge area being provided in said heating plate (9).
8. An ironing apparatus (2) according to claim 7, wherein the heating plate (9) is arranged in the middle of the treatment surface (5).
9. Ironing apparatus (2) according to any of the claims 1 to 8, wherein the treatment surface (5) further comprises at least one suction zone (32, 33) provided with a plurality of suction apertures.
10. Ironing device (2) according to claim 9, wherein said suction apertures comprise at least two suction apertures arranged on either side of said at least one steam discharge area.
11. Ironing apparatus (2) according to any of the claims 1 to 10, wherein it comprises at least one condensate recovery means (57, 58).
12. Method for ironing garments using a device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the ironing of garments is performed by manually applying the garments to be ironed onto the treatment surface (5) while the ironing device (2) is stably resting on the base (3) and sliding the garments to be ironed on the treatment surface (5).
