Therefore, the tracking area of the terminal can be accurately acquired under the condition that the cell provides a plurality of tracking area coding information according to the fourth indication information and/or the fifth indication information, and the subsequent tracking area management and maintenance are facilitated.
The present application will be described with reference to specific examples.
The first embodiment is as follows: and the terminal reports the tracking area information of the terminal through an AS signaling.
The method comprises the following steps:
step 0: in the target cell, the cell provides a plurality of tracking area coding information for the target network.
For example, the target cell 1 may provide target network PLMN1 access for which target cell two tracking area codes TAC1 and TAC2 are provided.
Step 1: the terminal initiates a wireless connection establishing process, and reports the tracking area information of the terminal to the wireless access network equipment through AS signaling in the process.
For example, the terminal requests to access the network through the target network PLMN1 of the target cell 1, and reports the tracking area information TAC1 of the terminal to the radio access network in the radio connection establishment process.
Wherein the radio connection establishment procedure may be triggered due to at least one of:
(1) And (5) initial registration. For example, after the terminal is powered on, residing in the target cell 1, the nas layer triggers an initial location registration procedure to report the tracking area where the terminal is located to the core network device, and the procedure triggers the AS layer of the terminal to initiate a radio connection establishment procedure.
(2) And (4) mobile update registration. For example, cell 1 supports PLMN1 access, and cell 1 broadcasts TAC1 and TAC2 for this PLMN 1. The cell 2 supports the access of the PLMN1, and the cell 2 broadcasts TAC3 and TAC4 aiming at the PLMN 1. When the terminal moves from the cell 1 to the cell 2, the NAS layer of the terminal triggers a mobile location registration procedure to update the tracking area where the terminal is located to the core network, and the procedure triggers the AS layer of the terminal to initiate a radio connection establishment procedure. As another example, the cell 2 supports PLMN1 access, and for the PLMN1, the cell 2 broadcasts TAC2 and TAC3, where the TAC2 is a tracking area where the terminal is prohibited from registering, and the TAC3 is a tracking area where the terminal is permitted to register. When the terminal moves from the cell 1 to the cell 2, the NAS layer of the terminal triggers a mobile location registration process to update the tracking area where the terminal is located to the core network, and the process triggers the AS layer of the terminal to initiate a radio connection establishment process.
(3) And (4) emergency registration. For example, cell 1 supports PLMN1 access, and cell 1 broadcasts TAC1 and TAC2 for this PLMN 1. The terminal requests access to the network via the target network PLMN1 of the target cell 1 to obtain emergency services. The process triggers the AS layer of the terminal to initiate the radio connection establishment procedure. The terminal reports the tracking area information to the network side through AS signaling in the process of establishing the wireless connection.
The terminal can report the tracking area information of the terminal to a wireless access network in the following way:
a radio connection setup complete message. For example, the terminal reports the tracking area information of the terminal to the radio access network through an rrcsetupcompliet message.
The tracking area information of the terminal may be obtained based on positioning information, for example, the terminal obtains the positioning information based on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) positioning, or obtains the positioning information based on terminal positioning assisted by 5G System (5G System, 5gs). And the terminal further acquires the tracking area where the terminal is located based on the mapping table of the geographic position and the tracking area and the positioning information.
The terminal reports the tracking area information of the terminal in any one of the following modes:
the tracking area encodes information. For example, cell 1 supports PLMN1 access for which cell 1 broadcasts TAC1 and TAC2. And the terminal determines that the terminal is in a tracking area corresponding to the tracking area code TAC2, and reports the tracking area code TAC2 to the wireless access network.
The tracking area encodes index information. For example, cell 1 supports PLMN1 access, and cell 1 broadcasts TAC1 and TAC2 for this PLMN 1. One implementation is: the index corresponding to the conventional tracking area code field is 0, and the newly introduced tracking area code list allocates indexes to the tracking area code elements in the list in sequence from 1. When the terminal determines the tracking area code where the terminal is located, the corresponding tracking area code index is reported to the wireless access network. As another implementation manner, the index corresponding to the conventional tracking area coding field is 1, and the newly introduced tracking area coding list allocates indexes to the tracking area coding elements in the list in order from 2. The newly introduced tracking area code list is a tracking area code introduced for a non-terrestrial communication system (e.g., a satellite communication system), and the conventional tracking area code field is a tracking area code field for terrestrial communication information. Of course, as another implementation, the target cell 1 does not provide a conventional tracking area coding field for the target network PLMN1, but introduces a new tracking area coding list field. For example, trackeacodelist = { TAC1, TAC2}, where TAC1 corresponds to tracking region code index 0 and tac1 corresponds to tracking region code index 1. And the terminal determines the tracking area code index and reports the tracking area code index to the network side.
In this embodiment of the present application, a behavior of reporting tracking area information by a terminal may be a protocol agreement, or may be configured based on a radio access network, for example, when the protocol agreement indicates that the terminal detects that a certain network (e.g., PLMN) supported by a cell corresponds to multiple tracking area information, the terminal always reports the tracking area of the terminal. For another example, the indication information indicates whether the tracking area information of the terminal needs to be reported based on indication information configured on the network side (the indication information is provided by system information). The indication information may be one-bit indication information, for example, when the value of the indication information is 0, the indication information is used to indicate the terminal to report the tracking area information, or when the value of the indication information is 1, the indication information is used to indicate the terminal not to report the tracking area information. Of course, the indication information may also be used to indicate the terminal to report the tracking area information when the indication information exists, and to indicate the terminal not to report the tracking area information when the indication information does not exist. For the network side, when a certain network (such as PLMN) supported by a cell corresponds to multiple pieces of tracking area information and belongs to the same registration area, the radio access network side sets the indication information to indicate that the terminal does not report the tracking area information of the terminal, or does not carry the indication information in system information. When a plurality of tracking area information corresponding to a certain network supported by a cell do not belong to the same registration area, the network side sets the indication information for indicating the terminal to report the tracking area information of the terminal, or carries the indication information in system information. Additionally, the radio access network device and the access network device need to interact in advance whether a plurality of tracking area information corresponding to a target network supported by the radio access network device belong to the same registration area.
It should be noted that the indication information in this embodiment may be equivalent to the first indication information in this application, where the first indication information is provided by the radio access network device through broadcast signaling (e.g., through SIB 1).
Step 2: and the wireless access network equipment determines the tracking area of the terminal according to the tracking area information reported by the terminal and provides the tracking area to the core network equipment.
For example, if the tracking area coding information is reported by the terminal, the tracking area coding information is indicated to the core network device. For another example, if the tracking area code index information is reported by the terminal, the tracking area code corresponding to the tracking area where the terminal is located is determined according to a preset index allocation rule, and the tracking area code is indicated to the core network device.
And 3, step 3: the core network equipment determines a tracking area where the terminal is located based on the tracking area information provided by the wireless access network equipment so as to perform subsequent tracking area management.
Example two: and the terminal reports the tracking area information of the terminal through the NAS signaling.
The method comprises the following steps:
step 0: in the target cell, the cell provides a plurality of tracking area coding information for the target network.
For example, the target cell 1 may provide target network PLMN1 access for which target cell two tracking area codes TAC1 and TAC2 are provided.
Step 1: the terminal initiates a wireless connection establishment process and reports the tracking area information of the terminal to the core network through NAS signaling in the process.
For example, the terminal requests to access the network through the target network PLMN1 of the target cell 1, and reports the tracking area information TAC1 of the terminal to the core network in the process of establishing the wireless connection.
Wherein the radio connection establishment procedure may be triggered due to at least one of:
(1) And (5) initial registration. For example, after the terminal is powered on, residing in the target cell 1, the nas layer triggers an initial location registration procedure to report the tracking area where the terminal is located to the core network device, which triggers the AS layer of the terminal to initiate a radio connection establishment procedure.
When the terminal moves from the cell 1 to the cell 2, the NAS layer of the terminal triggers a mobile location registration process to update the tracking area where the terminal is located to the core network, and the process triggers the AS layer of the terminal to initiate a radio connection establishment process. As another example, the cell 2 supports PLMN1 access, and for the PLMN1, the cell 2 broadcasts TAC2 and TAC3, where the TAC2 is a tracking area for which the terminal is prohibited from registering, and the TAC3 is a tracking area for which the terminal is permitted to register.
For example, cell 1 supports PLMN1 access for which cell 1 broadcasts TAC1 and TAC2. The terminal requests access to the network via the target network PLMN1 of the target cell 1 to obtain emergency services. The process triggers the AS layer of the terminal to initiate the radio connection establishment procedure. And the terminal reports the tracking area information of the terminal to the network side through NAS signaling in the process of establishing the wireless connection. The terminal can report the tracking area information of the terminal to a wireless access network in the following way:
NAS container in radio connection setup complete message. For example, the terminal reports the tracking area information of the terminal to the core network through the NAS container of the rrcsetuplet message.
The tracking area information of the terminal may be obtained based on the positioning information. For example, the terminal obtains positioning information based on GNSS positioning. Alternatively, the positioning information is acquired based on 5 GS-assisted terminal positioning. And the terminal further acquires the tracking area where the terminal is located based on the mapping table of the geographical position and the tracking area and the positioning information.
The terminal reports the tracking area information of the terminal in any one of the following modes:
the tracking area encodes information. For example, cell 1 supports PLMN1 access, and cell 1 broadcasts TAC1 and TAC2 for this PLMN 1. And the terminal determines that the terminal is in a tracking area corresponding to the tracking area code TAC2, and reports the tracking area code TAC2 to the wireless access network.
The tracking area encodes index information. For example, cell 1 supports PLMN1 access for which cell 1 broadcasts TAC1 and TAC2. One implementation is: the index corresponding to the conventional tracking area coding field is 0, and the newly introduced tracking area coding list allocates indexes to the tracking area coding elements in the list in sequence starting from 1. The newly introduced tracking area code list is tracking area codes introduced for a non-terrestrial communication system (such as a satellite communication system), and the conventional tracking area code field is a tracking area code field for terrestrial communication information. Of course, as another implementation, the target cell 1 does not provide a conventional tracking area code field for the target network PLMN1, but introduces a new tracking area code list field. For example, trackarea codelist = { TAC1, TAC2}, where TAC1 corresponds to tracking area code index 0 and TAC1 corresponds to tracking area code index 1. And the terminal determines the tracking area code index and reports the tracking area code index to the network side.
It should be noted that, the at least two pieces of tracking area information corresponding to the target network PLMN1 are provided by the AS layer of the terminal to the NAS layer of the terminal. Illustratively, the AS layer of the terminal provides, first, a sequence of a conventional tracking area coding field and then a newly introduced tracking area coding list field, and provides, to the NAS layer of the terminal, at least two pieces of tracking area information corresponding to the target network PLMN 1.
The act of reporting the tracking area information of the terminal may be a protocol agreement or a radio access network configuration. The concrete steps are the same as the first embodiment.
Step 2: and the wireless access network equipment forwards the NAS information carrying the tracking area coding information reported by the terminal to the core network equipment. In addition, when the radio access network device provides the location information of the terminal to the core network device, the behavior of the radio access network may be any of the following:
randomly selecting one of a plurality of tracking area coding information corresponding to a target network, placing the selected tracking area coding information in the position information and providing the selected tracking area coding information to a core network; for example, cell 1 supports PLMN1 access, and cell 1 broadcasts TAC1 and TAC2 for this PLMN 1. The terminal requests to access from a target network PLMN1, and the wireless access randomly selects a tracking area code corresponding to the target network, such as TAC1, and provides the tracking area code to a core network. Specifically, the radio access network randomly places a tracking area code, such as TAC1, in a user location information element (user location information IE) indicated to the core network.
All the tracking area coding information corresponding to the target network is placed in the position information and is provided for a core network; for example, cell 1 supports PLMN1 access, and cell 1 broadcasts TAC1 and TAC2 for this PLMN 1. The terminal requests to access from a target network PLMN1, and the tracking area codes TAC1 and TAC2 corresponding to the target network are all provided for a core network through wireless access. Specifically, the radio access network places tracking area codes corresponding to all target networks PLMN1 in a user location information IE indicated to the core network.
And providing no tracking area corresponding to the target network in the position information. For example, cell 1 supports PLMN1 access, and cell 1 broadcasts TAC1 and TAC2 for this PLMN 1. The terminal requests access from a target network PLMN1, and the wireless access does not provide the tracking area code corresponding to the target network. Specifically, the radio access network does not place the tracking area code in the user location information IE indicated to the core network.
And 3, step 3: the core network equipment receives NAS information which is forwarded by the wireless access network and carries tracking area coding information reported by the terminal, and determines a tracking area where the terminal is located based on the NAS information so as to perform subsequent tracking area management.
For example, if the tracking area coding information is reported by the terminal, the tracking area of the terminal is determined according to the tracking area coding information. For another example, if the tracking area code index information is reported by the terminal, the core network device determines the tracking area of the terminal according to the tracking area code index information. The specific implementation manner may be that the tracking area code index is indicated to the radio access network, and the radio access network feeds back the tracking area code corresponding to the tracking area code index to the core network. Or, the core network extracts a preset tracking area code index allocation rule from the radio access network, and determines the tracking area code corresponding to the tracking area where the terminal is located based on the rule.
Additionally, the core network device ignores tracking area coding information provided by the radio access network through the location information.
Example three: and the core network equipment triggers the terminal to report the tracking area information.
Step 0: in the target cell, the cell provides a plurality of tracking area coding information for the target network.
For example, the target cell 1 may provide target network PLMN1 access for which target cell two tracking area codes TAC1 and TAC2 are provided.
Step 1: the terminal initiates a wireless connection establishment process to request access through a target network of a target cell. Wherein the radio connection establishment procedure may be triggered due to at least one of:
(1) And registering an initial position. For example, after the terminal is powered on, if the terminal resides in the target cell 1, the nas layer triggers an initial location registration procedure to report the tracking area where the terminal is located to the core network, and the procedure triggers the AS layer of the terminal to initiate a radio connection establishment procedure.
(2) And (4) registering the mobile position.
And 2, step: when the radio access network provides the location information of the terminal to the core network, the behavior of the radio access network is as follows:
placing all the plurality of tracking area coding information corresponding to the target network in the position information and providing the position information to a core network; for example, cell 1 supports PLMN1 access for which cell 1 broadcasts TAC1 and TAC2. The terminal requests to access from a target network PLMN1, and the wireless access provides all tracking area codes TAC1 and TAC2 corresponding to the target network to a core network. Specifically, the radio access network places tracking area codes corresponding to all target networks PLMN1 in a user location information IE indicated to the core network.
And step 3: and the core network equipment receives the position information of the terminal provided by the wireless access network. And triggering the terminal to report the tracking area information based on the plurality of tracking area coding information carried by the position information.
Illustratively, the behavior of the core network is as follows:
and if the tracking areas corresponding to the plurality of tracking area coding information carried in the position information of the terminal do not belong to the same registration area, triggering the terminal to report the tracking area information where the tracking area coding information is located.
And if the tracking areas corresponding to the plurality of tracking area coding information carried in the position information of the terminal belong to the same registration area, not triggering the terminal to report the tracking area information of the terminal. Additionally, the core network provides the tracking area list belonging to the registration area to the terminal, so as to assist the subsequent tracking area management.
And 4, step 4: and the terminal reports the tracking area information of the terminal based on the core network indication. The reporting mode may be any one of the following:
through the mode of AS signaling reporting, the wireless access network equipment provides the tracking area code corresponding to the tracking area where the terminal is located to the core network equipment after determining the tracking area code. The tracking area information specifically reported by the terminal and the behavior of the corresponding radio access network equipment refer to embodiment one;
and by the mode of reporting the NAS signaling, the core network equipment determines the tracking area code corresponding to the tracking area where the terminal is located based on the tracking area information reported by the terminal. The tracking area information specifically reported by the terminal and the behavior of the corresponding core network device are referred to in the second embodiment.
