Detailed Description
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to fig. 1 to 6. The display device for a vehicle according to the embodiment of the present invention is applicable to a vehicle having a driver's seat, and particularly to a vehicle having an advanced driving assistance function such as an automatic driving function. Such vehicles include not only vehicles that perform only traveling in an automatic driving mode that does not require a driving operation by a driver, but also vehicles that perform traveling in an automatic driving mode and traveling in a manual driving mode in which a driving operation is performed by a driver.
Fig. 1 is a diagram showing an example of a structure around an instrument panel 1a of a vehicle 1 to which a display device for a vehicle according to an embodiment of the present invention is applied. As shown in fig. 1, an instrument panel 1a is disposed in front of the vehicle interior, and an instrument display 2, rearview mirror displays 3R and 3L, and an information display (hereinafter simply referred to as "display") 4 are provided on the instrument panel 1 a.
The instrument display 2 is disposed on the instrument panel 1a opposite to a driver's seat (in the example of fig. 1, the right side in the vehicle width direction), and displays information related to the state of the vehicle 1 such as the vehicle speed. The mirror displays 3L and 3R are disposed at the vehicle width direction left and right ends of the instrument panel 1a, respectively, and display images and the like corresponding to left and right mirrors that reflect the left and right rear sides of the vehicle 1. The display 4 is disposed on the instrument panel 1a in the vicinity of the center in the vehicle width direction between the instrument display 2 and the mirror display 3L, extends in the vehicle width direction, and displays various information to the occupant.
The vehicle 1 is further equipped with an exterior camera 5 and a positioning unit 6, the exterior camera 5 having an imaging element for imaging a scene ahead of the traveling vehicle 1, and the positioning unit 6 receiving a positioning signal transmitted from a GPS satellite, a quasi-zenith satellite, or the like and measuring the current position of the vehicle 1 based on the received positioning signal (fig. 2). An input unit 7 (fig. 2) such as a microphone for receiving a voice input from an occupant in the driver's seat and a touch panel for receiving an operation input is provided near the driver's seat in the instrument panel 1a of the vehicle 1.
Various information is displayed on the display 4 in accordance with an instruction from the occupant input through the input unit 7. For example, a recommendation screen for making a recommendation about a destination of the vehicle 1, a route guidance screen for guiding a route to the destination, a video call screen for making a video chat using a network line or a video call using a telephone line, or the like. The following specifically describes the display screen regarding the suggested destination.
Fig. 2 is a block diagram schematically showing the overall configuration of the vehicle display device 100 according to the embodiment of the present invention. As shown in fig. 2, the display device 100 for a vehicle includes a display 4, a vehicle exterior camera 5, a positioning unit 6, an input unit 7, a communication unit 8, and a controller 10. The communication unit 8 is configured to be able to communicate with the outside of the vehicle via a network including a wireless communication network typified by the internet, a mobile phone network, and the like. The network includes not only public wireless communication networks but also closed communication networks provided for each prescribed management area, such as wireless local area networks, Wi-Fi (registered trademark), Bluetooth (registered trademark), and the like.
The controller 10 includes a computer having an arithmetic unit 11 such as a CPU (central processing unit), a storage unit 12 such as a ROM (read only memory) or a RAM (random access memory), and other peripheral circuits (not shown) such as an I/O (input/output) interface. The storage unit 12 stores various control programs and information such as thresholds used in the programs. The arithmetic unit 11 has a functional configuration including a display control unit 13 for controlling the display 4.
In accordance with an instruction from the occupant input through the input unit 7, the display control unit 13 controls the display 4 to display an image of the scene ahead of the running vehicle 1 based on a signal from the vehicle exterior camera 5 and a program stored in the storage unit 12.
Fig. 3 is a diagram showing an example of the display screen D1 of the display 4 when a destination is proposed to an occupant in the driver's seat. As shown in fig. 3, the display control unit 13 controls the display 4 so that an agent image 40 representing an AI (artificial intelligence) agent providing various services to an occupant in a driver seat, which is a main user of the vehicle 1, is displayed at the right end of the display 4 closest to the driver seat in the vehicle width direction. The AI agent provides a service according to the preference of the user based on the user information registered in advance and the user information acquired according to the instruction from the user. For example, a destination of the vehicle 1 according to the preference of the user is suggested to the user (passenger in the driver's seat) who is seated in the vehicle 1. For example, based on the current position of the vehicle 1, the travel route, and the user information, a network search is performed via the communication unit 8, and information to be suggested to the user is determined.
The display control unit 13 controls the display 4 to display recommendation information suitable for a restaurant candidate, various facilities, and the like, which are recommended to the driver's seat occupant as a destination, superimposed on the image of the scene in front of the vehicle, based on the advice from the AI agent, for example. Specifically, the display 4 is controlled so that an instruction image 41 showing the position of a point (recommended point) suggested to the occupant, an information image 42 showing information about the recommended point, and a connection image 43 connecting these images are displayed so as to overlap with the image of the scene in front of the vehicle.
The instruction image 41 is displayed as a graphic such as a circle, and is displayed so as to move along with the recommended point in the video of the scene in front of the vehicle so that the center thereof coincides with the recommended point as the vehicle 1 travels. On the other hand, the information image 42 is displayed in the form of a window or the like including image information, character information about the recommended place. In the example of fig. 3, the information image 42 is displayed as a window including image information of a menu of a restaurant as a recommended place and character information such as a name and a description of the restaurant.
The information image 42 is displayed at a fixed position on the display 4 for a predetermined time (for example, about 2 seconds or longer) before the recommended point, and then moved in a direction away from the driver's seat (left side in the vehicle width direction in the drawing) and displayed. In this way, since the information image 42 is displayed for a predetermined time, it is easy for the occupant of the driver seat to read the character information. Further, since the information image 42 is displayed so as to move so as to follow the scene in front of the vehicle, the recommendation information can be displayed in a natural manner like a billboard in the vicinity of the road.
The instruction image 41 and the information image 42 are displayed at different positions on the display 4 while being movably displayed in different manners, but the instruction image 41 and the information image 42 are linked by the link image 43, and therefore it is easy for the occupant to recognize a series of recommendation information.
The timing of starting the display of the recommended information is determined based on the vehicle speed of the vehicle 1, the current position, and the position of the recommended point, so that the information image 42 is displayed at a fixed position on the display 4 for a predetermined time in front of the recommended point. That is, the display is advanced as the vehicle speed of the vehicle 1 is higher. When the vehicle 1 stops, the moving display of the information image 42 also stops.
Fig. 4 and 5 are diagrams showing examples of the display screens D2 and D3 of the display 4 when the information image 42 is displayed while moving away from the driver's seat. The recommended information including the information image 42 is displayed in a non-transmissive state at a fixed position on the display 4 (fig. 3), is displayed such that the transmittance increases as the distance from the driver's seat increases (fig. 4), and is displayed in a fully transmissive state when the recommended information reaches the end of the display 4 (fig. 5). More specifically, it is displayed in such a manner that the transmittance continuously increases according to the amount of movement of the information image 42, so that the transmittance becomes 100% when the left end of the information image 42 reaches the left end of the display 4.
In this way, since the recommended information is displayed so that the recommended information is naturally faded out until the information image 42 is out of the display range of the display 4, the recommended information can be displayed in a natural manner without giving the occupant anxiety and discomfort.
Fig. 6 is a flowchart illustrating an example of processing executed by the vehicle display device according to the embodiment of the present invention. The processing shown in this flowchart is repeated at a predetermined cycle, for example, when the occupant is seated in the driver's seat of the vehicle 1 and the AI agent starts providing the service. As shown in fig. 6, first, in S1 (S: processing step), it is determined whether there is recommendation information to be displayed. When S1 is affirmative (S1: YES), the process proceeds to S2, and the display 4 is controlled to display the recommendation information with the information image 42 being fixed (FIG. 3). On the other hand, when S1 is negated (S1: NO), the process ends. Next, at S3, the program waits until a predetermined time for fixedly displaying the information image 42 elapses, and proceeds to S4. At S4, the display 4 is controlled so that the information image 42 is moved in a direction away from the driver' S seat, and the transmittance of the entire recommendation information is gradually increased (fig. 4 and 5), and the process is terminated.
The present embodiment can provide the following effects.
(1) The vehicle display device 100 displays information to an occupant in a driver's seat of the vehicle 1. The display device 100 for a vehicle includes: a display 4 disposed to face the driver's seat and extending in the vehicle width direction; and a display control unit 13 configured to be capable of displaying recommendation information (fig. 1 and 2) to be recommended to an occupant in a driver seat on the display 4 so as to overlap with an image of a scene in front of the running vehicle 1.
The recommended information is displayed as an instruction image 41 showing the position of the recommended point, an information image 42 showing information about the recommended point, and a connection image 43 connecting the instruction image 41 and the information image 42 (fig. 3 to 5). The display control unit 13 controls the display 4 so that the information image 42 is displayed at a fixed position on the display 4 for a predetermined time, and then moved in a direction away from the driver's seat to be displayed.
This makes it possible to appropriately display the recommendation information to the occupant of the driver seat of the vehicle 1. That is, the recommended information can be displayed so that the character information included in the information image 42 can be easily read by the occupant in the driver's seat. Also, the recommendation information can be displayed in a natural manner in which the information image 42 flows following the scene in front of the vehicle. Further, since the instruction image 41 and the information image 42 are displayed in a linked manner by the linked image 43, it is easy for the occupant to recognize a series of recommendation information.
(2) The display control unit 13 controls the display 4 so that the information image 42 is displayed in a non-transmissive state at a fixed position (fig. 3), and thereafter, the transmittance increases as the distance from the driver's seat increases (fig. 4), and the information image reaches the end of the display 4 and is displayed in a fully transmissive state (fig. 5). The recommendation information is displayed in a naturally faded-out manner, thereby preventing the occupant from being uncomfortable.
(3) The vehicle display device 100 further includes an exterior camera 5 (fig. 2) that captures an image of the scene in front of the traveling vehicle 1. The display 4 displays the image of the scene in front of the vehicle captured by the vehicle exterior camera 5 and displays the recommendation information in a superimposed manner in association with the recommended point recommended to the occupant, thereby enabling a display that is easy for the occupant to view with a simple configuration.
In the above-described embodiment, a specific example of the monitor 4 is shown in fig. 1 and the like and described, but the monitor may be of any form as long as it is disposed so as to face the driver's seat and extend in the vehicle width direction. Although specific examples of the display screens D1 to D3 for suggesting a destination have been described with reference to fig. 3 to 4, the first image showing the position of a point, the second image showing information about a point, and the third image connecting them are not limited to these.
In the above-described embodiment, the example in which the image of the scene in front of the vehicle is displayed on the display 4 provided on the instrument panel 1a and the recommendation information is superimposed on the image has been described in fig. 1 and fig. 3 to 5, but the information of the point displayed so as to be superimposed on the image of the scene in front of the vehicle in the traveling state is not limited to this. For example, it may be displayed to the driver's seat occupant in superimposition with a scene in front of the vehicle that is visible through the windshield.
One or more of the above embodiments and modifications may be arbitrarily combined, or modifications may be combined with each other.
The present invention can display information to an occupant of a driver's seat of a vehicle appropriately.
While the present invention has been described with reference to the preferred embodiments thereof, it will be understood by those skilled in the art that various changes and modifications may be made therein without departing from the scope of the present invention as set forth in the following claims.
